Israel Ethiopian Jews march in support of exiled relatives 31/10/05 |
Up to one
thousand Ethiopian Jews gathered outside the Knesset building in
Jerusalem today in protest of the Israeli government's seeming indifference
to the plight of the Falash Mura, who are patiently waiting the approval of
their application for Israeli citizenship. Some say the Falash Mura, who
call themselves Beta Israel, are starving to death while the Israel
government decides who is going to pay for their Aliyah. Estimates are there
are tens of thousands of Falash Mura waiting to make Aliyah.
Quote: "The Falash Mura, who call themselves Beta Israel, are Ethiopians of Jewish ancestry whose progenitors converted to Christianity several generations ago to escape social and economic pressures. Many have since resumed Jewish practices while awaiting aliya, but their emigration has stalled over questions about who will pay for their immigration and absorption in Israel, whether or not they really are Jews, and how many of them remain in Ethiopia. The Falash Mura are just one of many groups waiting to return to Eretz Yisrael, in fulfilment of the 2500 year promise God made in the Old Testament Scriptures. Their desires to be united with their homeland after nearly 2000 years of separation shows just how close the Lord's return is. Hosea 6:2 Source Jerusalem Post |

Spirit of Antichrist Prince Charles raps US over bad image of Islam 31/10/05 |
Prince
Charles has criticized America over its poor portrayal of Islam ahead of
his upcoming visit to the States. The Supreme Governor of the Church of
England stated that he finds Americans need to gain a better understanding
of Islamic culture and beliefs.
Quote: "The Prince raised his concerns when he met senior Muslims in London in November 2001. The gathering took place just two months after the attacks on New York and Washington. "I find the language and rhetoric coming from America too confrontational," the Prince said, according to one leader at the meeting. Prince Charles, head an ears in the New Age movement, defied English law when he stated he preferred to be known as the "Defender of Faiths", rather than the "Defender of THE Faith", his official title as head of the Church of England. Some Christians believe Prince Charles may also be a prime candidate for the role of Antichrist, due to the fact that he claims to have inherited an unbroken bloodline from Jesus Christ (which according to Scripture is blasphemy), and is head of the Merovingian Order, one of the highest Masonic orders in the world. Prince Charles, it is claimed, can also trace his lineage from practically all of the most powerful leaders in world. I personally don't think he is "the Antichrist", but nevertheless his power stretches well beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. He even recently requested to inherit the title as King of Europe, but was refused by the European Parliament. Source Telegraph, The Merovingian Dynasty |

Wars and rumours of wars Condolences and condemnation for deadly India attack 30/10/05 |
India
has been swamped with both condolences, and condemnation for the bombers,
which struck yesterday in the capital Delhi, killing around 59 people and
wounded over 210. Investigators are still unsure about which group carried
out the attack, which consisted of around three bombs all detonated simultaneously
in a busy Indian market. Unfortunately India is only one nation in a long
list that has suffered similar attacks, claiming many lives.
Quote: "Condemning the blasts in "strongest possible terms, the European Union said "nothing will justify terrorism, which is an aggression against universal values that we share without distinction of language, culture or religion." EU's Foreign policy chief Javier Solana in a statement said "the perpetrators of these heinous crimes must and will be brought to justice." Pakistan termed the serial blasts as "a criminal act of terrorism". PTI India and Pakistan have suffered terribly in just the last few weeks, with a major monsoon lashing India killing many people, a major train crash which killed over 100 individuals, and of course the Pakistani earthquake, which is so far believed to have been responsible for the deaths of over 60,000 people, and most likely will be the death of many more. Tribulations Christians decapitated by Indonesian Muslims 29/10/05 |
The BBC reported today that three Indonesian girls were decapitated
by Muslims as they travelled on their way to a Christian school near the city of Poso in central Sulawesi province.
Quote: "Police say the heads were found some distance from the bodies. It is unclear what was behind the attack, but the girls attended a private Christian school and one of the heads was left outside a church leading to speculation that it might have had a religious motive. Muslims believe the proper way to kill an infidel is by decapitation. This has been testified by millions across the globe, by the horrific public broadcasting of the death of Ken Biggley, among many others, who lost their lives for simply working in Iraq - or supposedly supporting a religious crusade by the Great Satan (America) against an Islamic nation. Muslims that convert to Christianity are often killed by family members in so-called "honour killings". Some Christians believe that Indonesia's treatment of Christians is possibly the reason why the region suffered so terribly during the Asian earthquake. But even though Muslims may kill Christians in this horrific manner, it is important that we Christians still reach out to them with the Gospel, for that is the only thing guaranteed to change lives. They need Christ. Revelation 20:4 Source BBC |

Wars and rumours of wars Quartet calls for Syria to expel Islamic Jihad 29/10/05 |
The Quartet, the US, Russia, the UN and the European Union, have called on
Syrian President Assad to expel the terror group Islamic
Jihad after they claimed responsibility for an attack which left around
five Israelis dead during the week. Syria, as was Iraq under the tyranny of
Saddam Hussein, is a moral and financial supporter of Islamic terrorist
groups based in Damascus.
Quote: "The quartet's demand was announced by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke for about a half-hour by telephone with U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, and European diplomats Javier Solana and Benita Ferraro Waldner. The quartet called for restraint and communication between Israel and the Palestinians and said an escalation of violence should be avoided. Although Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for last week's attack, many Israelis believe that the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade - linked to the PA, also gave logistical support, for Islamic Jihad is a small group and would have been incapable of mounting such an attack on their own. Al-Aqsa Martyrs would also not have wished to keep their noses clean, as not to create any more pressure for Palestinian Authority President Abbas from the Israelis than he is already under. Weather Record breaking 23rd Atlantic storm heads for Caribbean 28/10/05 |
Hurricane Beta
has become the 23rd Atlantic storm to form this hurricane season, beating
the previous record of 21 storms, and forcing meteorologists to turn to the
Greek alphabet after they ran out of letters from the English alphabet to
name the storms. Twenty six people have been reported killed by tropical
storm Alpha this week.
Quote: "Beta is the season's 23rd named storm, the highest number since record keeping began in 1851, forcing the use of the Greek alphabet. Alpha, which caused flooding and mudslides in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, has now lost its intensity. Luke 21:25-27 Source BBC |

Revived Roman Empire Solana calls for more cash to fund EU Foreign Policy 27/10/05 |
Javier
Solana, the High Representative for the European Common Foreign and
Security Policy, is due to address EU leaders today at Hampton Court,
England. He is pressing for a bigger slice of the European budget, in order
to better fund Europe's Foreign Policy missions, which have so far been a
success in bringing peace and stability in three continents.
Quote: "While the EU’s budget for common foreign and security policy stands at €62.5m ($75.5m, £42.5m) this year, Mr Solana believes it will be impossible to meet the Union’s existing commitments for 2006 with less than €85m. He will argue that the EU’s crisis management operations, which began in 2003, have given the Union international clout that it never had before. He believes, for example, that the EU’s work on policing in Congo helped it convince the country’s government to reform its constitution, while its mission to monitor a peace deal in Aceh has raised its profile in Asia. The now suspended European Constitution would have given Javier Solana the official job as European Foreign Minister, and would have created the job description of an official European President. Until now he has had to contend with Britain, France and Germany, who have taken it on themselves to form the Foreign Policy for Europe in the interim period. There is no doubt Javier Solana is a highly successful politician, and has brokered many agreements and resolved many disputes throughout the world. If the European Constitution was ratified by 2007 - and European leaders are still committed to this target, Javier Solana would be one of the key men in Europe, and possibly a prime contender for fulfilling the role of the Antichrist himself. Anti-Semitism Iranian President calls for Israel to be "wiped off the map" 27/10/05 |
I didn't get time to update this yesterday when it appeared.
These were the words of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the recently elected President of Iran, as he made a startling announcement at an Anti-Zionist conference that has brought world-wide condemnation. His comments came on a day that saw five Israelis killed in Hadera in yet another suicide bombing. Iran's desire for Israel's destruction is already well known, but what is particularly worrying is that this call should come from the Iranian President himself, effectively an official sanction for any Islamic attack on Israel. What is more worrying is that Iran is still pressing ahead with developing its nuclear programme - along with help from Russia and China, and believes it has a right to possess nuclear weapons. Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, has asked his ambassador to the UN to call for Iran to be ejected from the United Nations, for condoning state genocide, which is in contravention of the UN Charter on Human Rights. Quote: "Iran's president did not stop there, continuing his vitriol during a speech at a conference called "A World Without Zionism." Ahmadinejad told the audience that the "new wave" of Palestinian attacks would destroy Israel, that Muslim countries that made peace with Israel would "burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury" and that a world without the US and Israel would be possible, reported the Iranian government news agency, IRNA. Although most nations condemn this outrage, and rightly so, the Bible tells us that the world will one day unite to fulfil the call of this Iranian President for the destruction of Israel. But at that moment, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth and defeat those armies, and set up His kingdom which will never be destroyed. Zechariah 14:2-4 Source Jerusalem Post |

Mark of the Beast US announces electronic passports 26/10/05 |
President Bush has announced plans to have every American passport electronically
chipped by October next year, even though 98% of the public is against
the plan. Most Americans believe the system of RFID tags - a tiny radio
transmitter chip, small enough to be laced into paper, is extremely insecure
and open to fraud seeing it is possible to read the device from up to 160
feet away. And if a handheld scanner can read a chip at that distance,
imagine what a high powered satellite could do. President Bush has announced
measures to reduce fraud, such as encryption, but many claim these efforts
do not go far enough.
Britain has also announced similar plans earlier in the year, for which the Labour government have suffered much criticism. Tony Blair cited several different reasons for introducing the scheme. First he stated that it would reduce terrorism and immigration problems. After his re-election, he claimed it would reduce fraud. But a few months ago the Labour government was forced to admit they had oversold the advantages of the chipped passports to the public. It is expected to cost the British public over £300 per passport, a figure which could leave some poor families in debt. The passport won't be compulsory at first, which makes one wonder what the point is in having one. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. So eventually every UK resident will be forced to buy the passport if the scheme is to be successful, even if they aren't planning to leave the country. And if they refuse, they could face a fine of thousands of pounds. Quote: "Over the last year, opposition to the idea of implanting RFID chips in passports has grown amidst worries that identity thieves could snatch personal information out of the air simply by aiming a high-powered antenna at a person or a vehicle carrying a passport. Out of the 2,335 comments on the plan that were received by the State Department this year, 98.5 percent were negative. The objections mostly focused on security and privacy concerns. But the Bush administration chose to go ahead with embedding 64KB chips in future passports, citing a desire to abide by "globally interoperable" standards devised by the International Civil Aviation Organization, a United Nations agency. Other nations, including the United Kingdom and Germany, have announced similar plans. Source ZDNet |

Morals "Rain stops play" for homosexual march 25/10/05 |
Yet another homosexual rally has become the latest victim of a major North
Atlantic hurricane, it was reported today. Organizers of the annual
"Fantasy Fest" in Florida had hoped to miss Wilma, but ended up
being caught in the middle of the devastation. The organizers still hope the
event won't be a complete wash-out.
Just months ago, another major homosexual rally was being organized, just as Katrina hit New Orleans, causing the forced evacuation of over a million people, and the deaths of tens of thousands. But "Southern Decadence" wouldn't let a little wind and rain stop play. The show must go on! ...while thousands of people were literally starving to death all around them. Sodom and Gomorrah wouldn't do it justice. Quote: "The catastrophic damage left by Katrina did not stop homosexuals from partying, as less than a week after the disaster, as thousands of people were suffering from homelessness and hunger in their flooded city, a group of "gays" marched down Bourbon Street in the Big Easy. A few days later, other homosexuals gathered in Lafayette, La., to hold what they called the Southern Decadence Parade in Exile. Source WorldNetDaily |

Peace agreement 7 year ENP agreement to include Turkey and Armenia 24/10/05 |
Javier Solana's European
Neighbourhood Policy - an initiative exchanging financial incentives for
political reform (or control) for states on the borders of the European
Union, is to be broadened to cater more for each countries individual needs,
MEP's announced earlier on in the year.
Around 16 nations have already signed up to the seven year agreement, which is to be formally introduced on January 1st, 2007. Israel was the first nation to sign up in December 2004, and the Palestinian Authority along with a few other Arab nations have also signed the deal. Javier Solana is to be personally responsible for this policy, and will be drafting a mid-term review of progress which will be submitted to the European Council. Quote: "European Parliament President Josep Borrell has said that the EP "will do what it can to make sure the EU negotiates with Armenia". Both Solana and Borrell emphasised the need for Armenia and Turkey to settle their border dispute as a precondition for Turkey's prospective EU membership, and they also reiterated the need for Ankara to recognise the killing of Armenians in the early 20th century as genocide. MEP's also announced last week that Armenia may also sign up to the new European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), along with Turkey. This would put the current number of countries signed up to the ENP at seventeen. A seven year covenant with many nations - including Israel, aimed at bringing peace and stability to Europe's borders, with a mid-term review by the head of the Revived Roman Empire... All sounds very familiar... Daniel 8:25 Daniel 9:27 Although I am just speculating here, I don't know if this is the agreement Daniel talks about or not, but with all that's happening in the world today we need to keep our eyes open, for the Lord's return is near. |

Israel Palestinians say Israeli Temple Mount dig will spark violence 24/10/05 |
A senior official of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the paramilitary wing of
the Palestinian Authority, has stated that the Israeli archaeological dig in
the Temple Mount area is a Jewish attack on the Islamic mosque situated on
the site, an Arab Muslims should do everything in their power to defend the
Al-Aqsa mosque.
Recent discoveries at the Temple Mount, extracted from the rubble discarded by the Islamic Wakf that administer the site, include official seals dating from the First and Second Temple eras, among other finds proving the authenticity of the Jewish Scriptures, which most Muslims seem to deny, even though the Koran calls Christians and Jews "people of the book". The Islamic Movement is already sending bus-loads of Muslims to "defend" the Temple Mount from these "Jewish attacks", they say would cause the destruction of the Al-Aqsa mosque, but more likely would uncover more archaeological artefacts from the Jewish Temples most Muslims would be uncomfortable with. Quote: "But Hatib blasted the center and dig, warning, "The plans endanger the mosque. Al Aqsa is close to the hearts and is important to all the Palestinians, the Arabs and the Muslims all over the world and even to those who are not religious and are not members of Islamic movements. Every attack or any try to hurt the mosque [will result in] 1.5 billion Arabs and Muslims rushing to defend Al Aqsa." And Hatib is not just talking. The Islamic Movement the past few weeks has been sending buses to Jaffa and other Israeli Arab neighborhoods offering free trips to the Al Aqsa Mosque to "defend" the structure from "Jewish attacks," Jaffa residents told WND. Revived Roman Empire Blair invites leaders for Euro summit at Hampton Court 23/10/05 |
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has invited
EU leaders to Hampton Court for a special summit on defining the European
Union's role in the world on October 27th. Javier Solana will also attend
the meeting and will address security issues Europe is facing today.
Many are already seeing this meeting as an effort by EU leaders to try and define what it actually means to be European. With Europe facing economic hardship, along with a booming Chinese economy, more eastern nations seeking to join the club, for instance the Islamic nation of Turkey, along with arguments between France and Britain over farming subsidies, there is a lot of division between different states on how the EU should proceed. New World Order NATO Chief opens door to Ukraine 21/10/05 |
NATO Secretary
General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, stated Wednesday during a visit to the
Ukraine, that the door is open for membership of the NATO alliance, but said
the Ukraine would first have to stamp out corruption and bring about "essential" military, judiciary and security
reforms before any application would be considered.
Quote: "Polls show that almost half the country's population is against joining NATO. "Our citizens will be able to understand that joining NATO doesn't mean the presence of nuclear arms on Ukrainian territory, nor the closure of industrial military companies, nor the immediate withdrawal of the Russian fleet from the Black Sea (in the south of Ukraine)," the minister said. NATO currently boasts an alliance of 26 full members, 20 partner countries and 7 dialogue partner countries, covering the practically the entire northern hemisphere of the globe. |

Revived Roman Empire Bosnian membership talks of EU slated for December 20/10/05 |
The enlargement commissioner for the European Union, Olli Rehn, has stated
that negotiations with Bosnia should commence on a stabilization agreement,
an important stepping stone to full EU membership. Part of the preconditions
to the talks were that Bosnia should reform its ethnically divided police
force. Javier Solana, the EU High Representative for the Common, Foreign and
Security Policy, has stated that membership talks could begin as soon as
December.
Quote: "He did not say when he thought those talks would begin, but EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said last week that he thought they could start before December 14. That day marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton peace accord, which brought an end to Bosnia's three-year war. Source Yahoo |

Israel Jews permitted to pray on Temple Mount for first time 20/10/05 |
A new ruling by an Israeli court permitted Jewish people wishing to pray
on the Temple Mount to do so for the first time in at least thirty years, to
mark the Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles). The High Court of Justice agreed
to the petition brought by the Temple Mount Faithful, who wish to see the
Third Temple built on the Mount. Jews and Christians are currently forbidden
to pray, or to wear any religious symbol that might upset the Muslim Wakf
who administer the site. But even though the ruling allowed Jews to pray
from 7:30 to 9:00 am on Wednesday, many Jews were hindered by Israeli
police.
Quote: "The decision sets a precedent, as it permits Jews not only to visit the Mount but also to pray there. Such a position has not been taken by the court since at least 1976. When worshippers arrived on the scene on Wednesday morning at the appointed time, however, the police did not allow them to enter the area, telling them that they were unaware of the High Court ruling. This was in spite of the fact that according to the conditions laid down by the court, the police do not have the authority to unilaterally decide to cancel the permit based on security concerns, as has generally been the case in previous rulings. Spirit of Antichrist Court overturns ruling that censored child's picture of Jesus 20/10/05 |
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in Manhattan has ruled that a
New York school that "censored" a five year-old's drawing of Jesus
Christ may have violated the constitution.
The child was asked to draw a picture for an assignment regarding ways in which we can help save the environment. The picture was rejected by the school board over concerns that placing it on the cafeteria wall of the school would constitute an "establishment of religion". The student created another version for the school, but the school board still rejected it, covering up the child's drawing of Jesus Christ. Quote: "In its opinion, the 2nd Circuit panel said the district court "overlooked evidence that, if construed, in the light most favorable to Peck, suggested that Antonio's poster was censored not because it was unresponsive to the assignment ... , but because it offered a religious perspective on the topic of how to save the environment." The case has been referred back to a federal court for further consideration. Matthew 18:6 Source WorldNetDaily |

Earthquakes San Francisco hit by moderate quake 19/10/05 |
San
Francisco was hit by a moderately sized earthquake this morning,
measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale. But this quake comes just days after Turkey
was hit by several moderate earthquakes, and a few weeks after eastern
Pakistan was struck by a major quake killing over 60,000 people.
Quote: "The 4.3-magnitude quake was recorded at 5:05 p.m. about 5 miles northwest of The Geysers in northern Sonoma County, according to preliminary reports from the U.S. Geological Survey. The city of San Francisco lies on a major fault line, and frequently experiences earthquakes. But seismologists believe San Francisco is long overdue a large earthquake, causing people to believe a quake in San Francisco could be the next "Katrina". The last major earthquake to occur in the region was in 1906. Similar circumstances occurred then as to the devastation in New Orleans, with the Mayor of San Francisco issuing a "shoot-to-kill" order to attempt to control the rampant looting. Morally, it seems, San Francisco has not learned its lesson. Quote: "San Francisco has long been known as a “gay town.” Her people, having gained the reputation of liberality and light-heartedness, have possibly been too anxious to live up to that reputation and too careless of the methods adopted to that end. To put it frankly, and at the same time mildly, the people of San Francisco had fallen into an attitude of self-sufficiency and of corresponding indifference to the profounder considerations of life. The shake-up of April 18, 1906, caused at least a momentary change in this attitude. On that day many a man, and woman, too, found himself and herself face t face with a superior being and experienced a consequent chastening of the spirit. Weather Wilma eyes Florida landfall 19/10/05 |
Hurricane Wilma, which
has recently strengthened to a Category 5 storm, may veer towards Florida
according to meteorologists. Wilma only measured in as a weak tropical storm
yesterday morning, but wind speeds have grown rapidly to over 175mph.
Florida has already borne significant damage from seven previous hurricanes
in the past year, causing over $20 billion worth of damage.
Quote: "The storm is the record-tying 12th hurricane of the season, the same number reached in 1969; 12 is the most in one season since record-keeping began in 1851. On Monday, Wilma became the Atlantic hurricane season’s 21st named storm, tying the record set in 1933 and exhausting the list of names for this year. Source MSNBC |

New World Order Viktor Yuschenko to be honoured by New World Order 17/10/05 |
Viktor Yuschenko, who was recently elected President of the Ukraine after
the "rigged" elections by his Russian counterpart, is to receive
an award by
Chatham House, the British equivalent of the Council on Foreign Relations. Yuschenko
led a peaceful "orange" revolution in the Ukraine after it was
revealed the Kremlin-backed Viktor Yanukovych had "rigged" the
election. Backed by political pressure from the EU, the contested election
was ordered by the courts to be rerun, and subsequently the pro-Western Yuschenko
was swept into power. Yushenko's victory paved the way for a Ukrainian
application for membership of the European Union.
Quote: "The Chatham House Prize will be presented by Queen Elizabeth II. Mr Yushchenko will also meet UK Prime Minister Tony Blair to plan for an EU-Ukraine summit in Kiev. Ahead of his two-day visit Britain, Mr Yushchenko told the BBC there could be more Orange Revolutions - or peaceful protests for change - across the world. Looks like the New World Order looks after its own, and politicians that play according to the "rules" will in no wise lose their reward. Quote: "The CFR and Chatham House were both founded after the First World War by a group of people who had a common goal -- to secure world domination in the 20th century and beyond for the English-speaking people. The intention of the founders of these organisations to co-operate was confirmed at the Peace Conference of Paris in 1919 where they met at the Hotel Majestic. Discussions between two groups of British and US experts on 30th May led to the founding of the RIIA. |

Israel Afghanistan to reopen ties with Israel 16/10/05 |
Afghan diplomatic sources have revealed Afghanistan
is to reopen formal relations with Israel, hopefully paving the way for
other Muslim countries to follow suit. Israeli Foreign minister Shalom has
been meeting with several foreign officials of Islamic states, most recently
Pakistan, which also agreed to normalize relations although stopping short
of recognizing the state of Israel until a peace plan has been agreed in the
Middle East.
Quote: "Diplomatic sources say that the withdrawal from Gaza has opened a window of opportunity for the establishment of these ties, since public opinion in some of these states toward Israel is more favorable as a result of the withdrawal than it has ever been, and that such a move would go a long way toward improving the relationships between these countries and the US, which has expressed its interest in seeing a normalization of ties between the Islamic world and Israel. Spirit of Antichrist New Tribes Mission to be expelled from Venezuela 14/10/05 |
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has announced his plans to expel the US
based missionary group New
Tribes Mission from the country. The situation has probably not been
helped by comments made just a few months ago by CBN's Pat Robertson that
the American government should consider assassinating President Chavez.
Chavez accused New Tribes Mission, of whom my cousin Cathy and her husband
has gone to work with, as being US imperialists who aim to overthrow his
government.
Quote: ""The New Tribes are leaving Venezuela," Mr Chavez said at a ceremony to present land titles and farming equipment to members of Venezuela's indigenous population. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (archive) Let them gather their stuff... because the so-called New Tribes are going from here, from every last corner Hugo Chavez "This is an irreversible decision that I have made. Anti-Semitism BBC comes under fire for biased documentary 13/10/05 |
The BBC
came under fire from Jewish groups this week over the screening of the new
documentary on the Israeli peace process, called "Elusive Peace: Israel
and the Arabs". As with the controversial "Jerry Springer: The
Opera" which generated over 60,000 complaints before the show was
actually broadcast (which the BBC failed to acknowledge), many viewers
complained about the Middle East documentary even before it was broadcast,
due to bias in the trailer of the programme
Quote: "One viewer, activist Joy Wolfe, lodged a formal complaint to the BBC over pro-Palestinian bias even before the program was broadcast. “How are we supposed to give any credence to the BBC’s constant claim it is not biased when even in a trailer for an important series on the Israel-Palestinian conflict that bias and injection of opinion is there for all to see?” she wrote in an e-mail to senior BBC executives including Malcolm Balen, the BBC executive who serves as a kind of ombudsman for coverage of this region. The trailer in question heralded, “The story of how Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Barak persuaded President Clinton to devote his last 18 months in office to helping make peace with Yasser Arafat. But Barak got cold feet twice. Then Ariel Sharon took a walk around Jerusalem’s holiest mosques, and peacemaking was over.” It seems nothing much has changed at the BBC. They are still slanting their programming to fit an anti-American anti-Israel ideology. But thankfully not everyone at the BBC holds the same mindset. My cousins family has been chosen to be the subject of a new BBC documentary called "Born Again", which is to be broadcast in the Spring. The programme will follow three Christian families, one Brethren, one Baptist and one Pentecostal, and explore the subject of what it means to be "Born Again". They have already filmed at my church, Bethesda Gospel Hall, and will be recording the work my uncle is involved in Adventure Leadership Training, a Christian-based outdoor development programme. |

Israel Temple Institute sends Rosh Hashanah blessings 3/10/05 |
I received this email from the Temple
Institute today. The Temple Institute has recreated many of the artefacts
used by Jewish priests for Temple service, for instance the High Priests
garments, the breast plate, the Menorah, among others. Currently they are
training priests in the sacrificial system, so they will be ready for when
the Temple is finally rebuilt (which the Antichrist will subsequently
defile). Rabbi Chaim Richman, head of the Temple Institute, and also
interestingly a member of the newly formed Jewish Sanhedrin, has expressed
his hopes for this years Rosh Hashanah - the Feast of Trumpets.
Quote: "Two fervent prayers accompany this shofar blast: The first – may we merit true freedom! To be a free people in our own land. May this truly become the state of the Jewish people who dwell in security in every corner of their own land, with pride of nationhood, subservient to no one. And the second prayer: that we should merit to begin the construction of the third Holy Temple, which will be built by us all. United as one man, we shall go out to the stone quarries and carry back great stones to raise the walls of the Temple that have lain desolate for thousands of years. We shall ascend to the Lebanon, and bring cedars from there, to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Source Temple Institute |

Earthquakes Quake hits Israel ahead of Rosh Hashanah 3/10/05 |
A moderate earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale has struck Northern
Israel this morning. There have been no reports of damage or casualties.
Quote: "According to the Seismological Department of Israel's Geophysical Institute, the precise location of the epicenter, located somewhere in the Jordan Valley along the Syrian-African Rift Valley, was as yet unknown. It is extremely significant that Israel should experience both an earthquake and a lunar eclipse, all during Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish Feast of Trumpets. Earthquakes are foretold as having a significant part of end time events, and in the Bible, often mark significant prophesies being fulfilled. For example, the earthquakes at both Christ's death (Matthew 27:54), and resurrection (Matthew 28:2). Eclipses also have a prophetic significance. A lunar eclipse, as I said yesterday, is especially significant considering Jewish tradition holds the moon as being symbolic of the Messiah, and on Rosh Hashanah, Jews call for the Messiah's return to deliver them from their enemies. Revived Roman Empire Solana warns EU they must accept Turkish membership 2/10/05 |
The High Representative for Europe's Common Foreign and Security Policy,
Javier Solana, has warned EU leaders of the danger of leaving Turkey
out in the cold (no pun intended). He said Turkish membership of the EU
could improve relations with Arab nations, especially in the event of an
energy crisis, and questioned where Turkey would
go if the European Union said "non".
Quote: ""There is a huge risk of leaving Turkey without an anchor in the world. It is better for EU citizens to have Turkey on our side than ... I don't know where," he warned, adding that the EU must "respect its commitments" to the candidate state. One really wonders who "our side" and "their side" is. Who's the baddies and who's the goodies? Jacques Chirac has stated that he is against Turkish membership, and French opposition to Turkey played a big part in the last election. The Pope believes Turkey should not become a member of the EU because it was not "founded on Christianity" - in actual fact it was, but was conquered by Islamic invaders. Neo-Nazis do not want Turkey becoming part of the white supremacist federation. And Greece is up in arms over Turkish refusal to recognise Cyprus. Javier Solana certainly has his work cut out to convince people that this is a good idea. Source Yahoo |

Eclipse Lunar eclipse to mark Rosh Hashanah 2/10/05 |
Monday's lunar
eclipse, which according to astronomers will create a dazzling ring in
the sky, will mark the Jewish new year of Rosh Hashanah - or the Feast of
Trumpets. The Jewish Feast of Trumpets is one of the last few remaining
Biblical feasts to find its literal fulfilment in Jesus Christ. For example, many believe that Jesus Christ was born during the Feast of Tabernacles, where Jewish people spend one week in a hand made dwelling to remember the time they came out of Egypt and dwelled in tents. It would be fitting that during this time, Jesus Christ came from heaven, and "tabernacled amongst us" on earth, as His Hebrew name Immanuel suggests - "God with us". Jesus Christ was crucified on the night of the Passover, the same night the angel of death passed over those houses that had the lamb's blood on the door posts. Of course, Jesus Christ is called the "Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world", John 1:29. Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the Jewish Feast of First Fruits, and His resurrection is called the "First Fruits" from among the dead, or in other words, the first of many to be resurrected never to die again (1st Corinthians 15:23). And again, the Holy Spirit was given during Pentecost, another Jewish feast. On the Feast of Trumpets, observant Jews will blow the Shofar (ram's horn) at the wailing wall, as a call to national repentance, and a call for the Messiah to come and deliver them from their enemies. Well what's so significant about this year's Rosh Hashanah? In Jewish tradition the moon is a symbol of the Messiah. And the fact that the lunar eclipse which shall be seen from Israel happens to fall on the Feast of Trumpets during which Jews expectantly wait for their Messiah's (first) coming is prophetically significant, and serves as a reminder to Israel that they despised and rejected the true Messiah (Isaiah 53), and that they need to turn to Him for repentance before they will find deliverance. Some believe that possibly the rapture of the Church may occur during the Feast of Trumpets, possibly even this year. While I wouldn't be daring enough to speculate on that, there is no doubt that the Feast of Trumpets will find its fulfilment soon in Jesus Christ. And considering the meaning of the Feast of Trumpets is to call on the Messiah for deliverance, there is no doubt it will be fulfilled soon. Those who haven't yet trusted in Jesus Christ as Saviour need to so, for "the things spoken of Christ have an end", Luke 22:37. |

Terror Bombs strike Bali killing 22 1/10/05 |
Terrorists struck the island resort of Bali once again, detonating two bombs in restaurants this time killing around 22 people and injuring 50. The attack comes just two weeks prior to the third anniversary of the last Bali bombing which claimed 202 lives. Quote: ""It's a horrible scene," said the receptionist, Komang, who gave only one name. "Some people have had their heads blown off." The nationalities of the dead in both hospitals were not immediately known. The blasts came days ahead of the anniversary of the Oct. 12, 2002, twin bombings on Bali that claimed 202 lives, most of them foreign tourists. Jemaah Islamiyah has been blamed for that attack. The previous attack which sent shockwaves around the world was blamed on Al-Qaida. But a friend of mine who now lives in Australia hinted at the possibility the attack may have been tied up with East Timor's recent declaration of independence. Roman Catholic East Timor claimed independence from Indonesia not long ago, and many Australians believe the real reason behind the goal of independence was a Vatican desire to gain control over the vast oil and gas reserves that lie off the Australian coast. Recently, those who govern the tiny island of East Timor have tried to claim a massive 50% of the oceanic resources that lie between East Timor and Australia. Source Jerusalem Post, ETAN |
