Weather New data shows global warming 30/4/05 |
Scientists have released new
data, claiming it proves beyond doubt that global warming will have far
reaching effects in global temperatures this century.
Quote: "Average atmospheric temperatures rose about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the 20th century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a U.N.-organized network of scientists, says computer modelling predicts temperatures rising between 2.5 degrees and 10.4 degrees Fahrenheit by the year 2100. The Bible states such a scenario will occur during the seven year tribulation, not in 2100, but much sooner than that... Revelation 16:8-9 Source Yahoo |

Anti-Semitism UK - AUT calls for boycott of Israeli Universities 28/4/05 |
The British
Association of University Teachers has called for a boycott of Israeli
universities, creating a blacklist of Jewish Israeli academics. What they
aim to achieve by this is unclear. But the British action has found no
support even among Palestinian academicians, who they claim to support...
Quote: "It is not surprising therefore that even the
Palestinian Al-Quds University in Jerusalem headed by Sari Nusseibeh
released a statement against the British association blacklist, saying,
"We are informed by the principle that we should seek to win Israelis
over to our side, not to win against them... Therefore, informed by this
national duty, we believe it is in our interest to build bridges, not walls;
to reach out to the Israeli academic institutions, not to impose another
restriction or dialogue-block on ourselves." The Anglican church also recently called for a boycott of Israeli goods produced in "occupied territory", hoping that the financial strain would force Israel to make peace with their Arab neighbours, a view which I believe is not only one-sided, but anti-Semitic at its heart, and therefore contrary to Scripture. Russia Putin urges Mid-East peace 27/4/05 |
President Putin of Russia has suggested holding a Middle East peace
conference in Moscow, during his visit to Israel, the first ever by a
Russian President. It is extremely interesting that Russia should be getting
involved in the Middle East. Many believe Russia is the country mentioned in
Ezekiel 38-39, that is to mount an invasion of Israel, along with her Arab
partners. The Bible states this invasion may come after Israel is finally at
peace with her neighbours...
Ezekiel 38:10-12 With Russia's flagging economy, and Putin expressing his opinion that the fall of the USSR was the worst thing ever happened last century, it looks like they could be prime candidates for fulfilling this prophecy, thinking an evil thought, and desiring to take spoil. This invasion will be resisted by some Arab nations, but only by words... Ezekiel 38:13 Source Jerusalem Post, Chicago Sun-Times |

Earthquakes Sumatra scarred gravity field 26/4/05 |
Scientists speculated today that the December 26th earthquake in Indonesia,
which killed over 200,000 people may have permanently changed the shape of
the earth's gravitational
field.
Quote: "The magnitude 9.3 earthquake has already been said to have shortened the day by fractions of a second, shifted the North Pole by an inch, and made the planet less fat around the middle Jesus Christ said earthquakes would characterize the days before His Second Coming to earth... Luke 21:10-11 The US Geological Survey has reported a sharp rise in the number of earthquakes this past 50 years. Although some may say that is because of advanced detection techniques - which may account for some of the data, the Bible clearly spells out the significance of earthquakes during the last days... Revelation 17:16-19 Isaiah also speaks about what is to occur during the tribulation period. We have seen this in part with Sumatra, but much worse is yet to come... Isaiah 24:17-20 Source Yahoo |

Middle East Syria leaves Lebanon 26/4/05 |
The Syrian army finally pulled
out of Lebanon today, after 29 years of occupation. The pullout came
during the "Syria out" protests causing the government to
collapse, after suspected Syrian involvement in the assassination of a
leading Lebanese politician.
Quote: "Syria allies in Beirut have been eager to give the rushed withdrawal some dignity, which was evident in the formal farewell ceremonies. Top-ranking military commanders from both sides made formal addresses, stressing the close relationship between the two countries in speeches rife with references to the "Israeli enemy." Hezbollah, a terror group based in Lebanon, has had Syrian and Iranian backing and support for many years, and have carried out many attacks against Israel while Syria was "protecting" Lebanon. There were over 300 Kassam rocket attacks on Israeli towns last year alone. Source Jerusalem Post, Kokhaviv Publications |

Catholic Church Ecumenical Push 25/4/05 |
The Pope has continued the ecumenical
"push" of John Paul II, by expressing unity and dialogue between
Muslims and Catholics today, and between all "Christian" groups
yesterday. The Ecumenical movement seeks to unite all faiths under one
common umbrella. There are many groups seeking this goal, one being the United
Religions Initiative project, which was established to function in
principle like the United Nations.
Revelation states that during the tribulation, there will be a one-world religious system, at whose head is a false prophet, who will enjoin the whole world to worship the beast (Antichrist), as their true Messiah and God. Revelation 13:4 Revelation 13:12 There is a concerted effort to solve this problem of religious disunity in the world today, to try and bring about this one-world religious system. That is why Incitement to Religious Hatred bills are being passed in our Parliaments - to stifle opposition, and "churches" are pushing for unity at the expense of truth. Source Yahoo |

Israel Ezer Weizman dies 24/4/05 |
Ezer
Weizman, Israel's seventh president, died today. He was 80 years of age.
Quote: "Prime Minister Ariel Sharon issued a statement calling Weizman a "symbol and model of the Sabra." "I lost today a commander and close friend," the prime minister said. "Ezer was distinguished by his determination, leadership, courage and sharp tongue." Sharon said that every stop along Weizman's life represented a "central stone in the building up Israel" - his days in the Irgun, his role in the establishment of the air force, the victory in the Six Day War, his days as Defence Minister, his central role in the peace accords with Egypt, and as a president "who was beloved by all segments of the population." Catholic Church Pope's first addresses 23/4/05 |
On Friday, the Pope openly
condemned the Spanish parliament's decision to approve gay marriage,
stating Catholics should be prepared to loose jobs rather than support such
a bill. The Pope today called on the media to "seek
the truth and defend human dignity".
Quote: "He stressed the "ethical responsibility of those who work in the media, especially regarding the sincere search for truth and the defence of the centrality and dignity of the human person... In order to do their work responsibly, the media's mandate was "to discover the truth, to use it and to make it known," said Benedict, wearing the traditional white papal cassock and looking professorial with gold-coloured wire-rimmed glasses." In a world where "truth" is no longer an absolute, but just a perception ("and every man did that which was right in his own eyes", Judges 17:6) , is the media really capable of seeking truth, without putting their own slant on things? |

Iran Nukes Russia tries to calm Israeli fears 23/4/05 |
Prime Minister Putin of Russia has tried to allay Israeli fears of Iran
developing a nuclear weapon. Mr Putin claims co-operation between Russia and
Iran over the technology is for "peaceful uses" only.
Quote: "Mr Putin was talking to Israel's Channel 1 ahead of a historic trip to Israel - the first by a Russian leader. He also said Russian missiles sold to Syria would not fall into the hands of anti-Israeli militants. It's interesting to see greater co-operation between Russia and the Arab states. Many believe the prophecy in Ezekiel 38-39, of a northern invasion of Israel in the last days will be fulfilled by Russia and it's Arab allies. Ezekiel 38:3-6 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (Moscow?) and Tubal (Tobolsk?): And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia (Iraq/Iran), Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (Turkey?) of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. Morals Spain OKs gay marriage 21/4/05 |
The Spanish lower parliament approved the bill legalizing
gay marriage today, making it the 3rd European state to do so. The other
two states are Belgium and the Netherlands, although Britain has legalized
gay civil unions, which is marriage in all but name.
Quote: "In the vote, deputies agreed that the phrase "Matrimony shall have the same requisites and effects regardless of whether the persons involved are of the same or different sex" should be incorporated into Spain's Civil Law. There has also been upheaval in the US this week, with two gay prisoners, one jailed for rape and child abuse, demanding their "right" to be married in prison. In a world that has largely rejected the idea of special Creation (with moral absolutes) and accepted an animal ancestry (Romans 1:22-25), is it any wonder lawmakers no longer know why marriage is between a man and woman. And if they do know, they will have a lot of explaining to do to the Judge of all the earth. Source Jerusalem Post |

Catholic Church Ratzinger proclaimed Pope 19/4/05 |
A new Pope was
elected today, replacing the late John Paul II. Cardinal Ratzinger is
claimed to be an Evangelical, who, according to the London's Sunday Times,
and quoted in the Jerusalem Post, believes
in Jesus so strongly that he thinks everyone should accept Him as
Messiah, even the Jews. According to St Malachy's prophecy, the last Pope will turn against the Catholic church and destroy it with fire. According to this prophecy, there are two Pope's to come after John Paul II. The Benedictine Order claimed this new Pope would come from among them. Although some think that the last Pope's name in this prophecy, "Peter the Roman", was added much later to St Malachy's prophecy by Benedictine Monks who did not want their Order to be associated with the Antichrist. If "Peter the Roman" is an extra addition, this would have made Pope Benedict the last pope. Whether this happens or not remains to be seen, but whatever form the world church takes that rides the beast, it is slated for destruction according to Revelation 17:16. Israel Temple Mount artefacts dumped 15/04/05 |
Israeli archaeologists obtained permission to sift through more than 10,000
tonnes of rubble that was dumped
by the Islamic Waqf during construction of their underground mosque in
Solomon's Stables, and have found precious artefacts dating back from the
First and Second Temple eras.
Many criticize the Israeli government for failing to stop desecration of artefacts of archaeological significance by the Islamic authority, responsible for looking after the site. Quote: "Over the last five months, Zweig a small team of six workers -- and an equal number of daily volunteers -- who have sifted through 15 percent of the rubble to date have uncovered scores of history-rich artefacts, from the First Temple Period until today amidst the rubble, including a large amount of pottery dating from the Bronze Ages through modern times, a large segment of a marble pillar's shaft, and over 100 ancient coins, among them several from the Hasmonean dynasty. The one meter tall marble column, streaked with purple veins and white spots, is thought to date back to Late Roman or the Byzantine period, Barkay said, and is similar to column shafts near the southern wall of the Temple Mount. An example of the careless attitude of the Islamic Waqf towards the Jewish heritage, is that of the word "Allah", which still remains inscribed into the side of the Temple Mount wall... Quote: "After the vandalism was uncovered, Wakf director Adnan Husseini said that he saw nothing wrong with the 'Allah inscription' on the Temple Mount wall. "What's the problem with that? It's the name of God," he said. Source Jerusalem Post, Jerusalem Post |

EU Constitution France could cease to exist 14/4/05 |
Jacques Chirac warned in a live debate today that France could "cease
to exist politically", if voters reject the EU Constitution in the
referendum to be held there soon.
Quote: "If by chance France did not vote in favour, France would at least for a certain time cease to exist politically at the heart of this Europe," the president said in his concluding comments after a more than two-hour debate at his Elysee palace. French polls show the "No" camp for the EU Constitution is currently in the lead. In the book of Daniel, the Bible predicted a Europe that would be part strong, part weak (Daniel 2:41-43), a kingdom that would be divided and not cleave one to another. That's exactly what we see today. But the key verse is Daniel 2:44, which shows us the immanency of Christ's return to set up His Kingdom, which shall never be destroyed. Daniel 2:44 Source Yahoo |

Israel Temple Mount worries 13/4/05 |
Israel seems to be worried
about "extremists" who might seize the opportunity during the
police concentration in Gaza, to mount an "attack" on the Al-Aqsa
Mosque.
Note the anti-Israeli slant the BBC has put on the following article, removing any claim of ownership by the Jews to the Temple Mount area. Judaism's most holy site, becomes the "Aqsa mosque compound" Quote: "Israel's police chief is reportedly in Jordan to
discuss ways to protect Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site, the Aqsa
mosque compound. And we wonder why anti-Semitism is on the rise. Source BBC |

EU Expansion 13/4/05 |
The EU continues its relentless
expansion, in the approval of two new members, Bulgaria and Romania.
Both countries will have to meet strict criteria, including judicial reform
(submission to Brussels) and stamping out corruption.
There is no doubt, the EU certainly is diverse from any other beast (Daniel 7:7). The book of Daniel predicted a last world empire, which would be "dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it:", Daniel 7:7 This is the monster Jacques Chirac, amongst others, seeks to create. Quote: "Later this month, EU foreign ministers and their Romanian and Bulgarian counterparts will sign an accession treaty, which has to be ratified by national parliaments across the European Union. Also, with the new EU Neighbourhood scheme, over 130 nations bordering the EU, including Israel, will be given economic boosts for political favours. Thus, the arm of Europe will have a worldwide reach... Daniel 7:23 Source BBC |

Volcanoes Indonesia 12/4/05 |
The recent earthquakes in the war-torn island of Sumatra have triggered a
violent volcanic
eruption there.
Quote: "The volcano's activity comes just two days after the city of Padang was gripped with fear following a powerful 6.7 magnitude quake that caused only minor damage but revived memories of last year's deadly Indian Ocean tsunami. It seems something major has happened to the earth's tectonic plates since the 9.3 magnitude quake last December. Source Yahoo |

Anti-Semitism New Zealand 11/4/05 |

hearing how many Jews got gassed in the Holocaust". The Prime
Minister of New Zealand, among many others, criticized John Tamihere for his
anti-Semitic remarks, and offered the Jewish people of New Zealand an
apology.

Israel Jews pressing to reinstate sacrifices and build temple 10/4/05 |
Rabbis in Jerusalem are convening marches around the Temple Mount for Jews
to express their desire for the rebuilding of the
Temple, and reinstituting the sacrificial
system.
Quote: ""Today all we want is the right to pray on the Temple Mount," said Rabbi Yishai Ba'avad, secretary of The Institute for the Establishment of the Temple. "But this is just the first stage to realizing every Jew's aspiration to see the Temple rebuilt and the sacrificial worship renewed." Rabbi Yossi Peli of the Samarian settlement Yitzhar, said he organizes a Sivuv She'arim [march around the Temple Mount] every month to express Jewish yearning to pray on the Temple Mount, renew animal sacrifices and see the rebuilding of the Temple. "As soon as there is real Jewish leadership in Israel, one of the first decisions will be to rebuild the Temple," said Peli. The rebuilding of the Temple, and reinstating of the sacrificial system is something that will take place just after the Antichrist puts his hand to the seven year peace agreement (Daniel 8:11-13, 9:27, 11:31, 12:11). Israel Temple Mount 10/4/05 |
Police have closed down the temple mount completely to non-Muslim visitors
today, fearing a backlash in violence from those opposed to the Gaza
withdrawal. Arab Muslims have also issued a call for a mass rally on the
Temple Mount, to oppose any Jewish gathering there.
Quote: "Asked when the Temple Mount will reopen to Jewish visitors, (Internal Security Minister) Ezra said: "Jews will be allowed to visit on Monday, like all visitors who come not to pray." Jewish visitors are allowed to enter the Temple Mount in small groups, but are forbidden from praying, since it could provoke the Muslim Waqf that oversees the holy site. Isn't it ironic that the Lord Jesus quoted (Matthew 21:13) the Scripture in Isaiah 56:7, that the temple was to be a "house of prayer for all people (nations)", and that is exactly the thing the Jews or Christians are forbidden to do by the Muslim Waqf. Israel EU expresses opinion on Settlements 10/4/05 |
The EU
continues to wield more of its influence in Israeli affairs,
expressing "concern" over Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem.
Quote: "Luxembourg, which holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, released the statement, saying, "The European Union is deeply concerned over the announcement by the Israeli authorities of a plan to build 3,500 new housing units in Ma'aleh Adumim and plans to expand two other settlement blocks [Ariel and Gush Etzion] in the West Bank." The statement said that the EU "deplores the negative impact that this announcement risks having on the confidence between the two parties at a time when a genuine window of opportunity exists to relaunch the peace process. The continuation of settlement activity by Israel would be a violation of international humanitarian law, the relevant UN resolutions and Israeli commitments in the context of the road map." While the EU is "encouraged by the prospect of the dismantling of settlements in Gaza and parts of the West Bank," the statement called on Israel to "observe its obligations, to freeze all settlement activity and to dismantle outposts." The Bible states that the Antichrist, the prince (ruler) of the people that destroyed Jerusalem (Daniel 9:26) in AD 70 (Romans), would confirm a covenant (peace agreement) with many (nations) for one week (seven years), Daniel 9:27. Seeing this is the case, we are expecting America to take a decreasing role in Middle East politics, and the EU to take an increasing role, bringing about a solution to this conflict. Up until now, Europe hasn't had one voice, but the EU constitution looks set to change that. Source Jerusalem Post |

Hizbullah has announced it may consider calling a cease

Quote: "Lebanon and Hezbollah argue that the plot is

the area is Syrian territory and says it will not withdraw until there is a

Israel Security alert on Temple Mount 8/4/05 |
Thousands of Israeli police have surrounded the Temple

Morals Connecticut backs gay unions 07/04/05 |
Connecticut
has become the first US state to legalize gay and lesbian civil unions which
will not be pressured by the courts.
Quote: ""We stand today before a portal to history," said Democratic Sen. Andrew McDonald, one of a handful of openly gay lawmakers. "I ask you to pass through it." Sadly it looks like this "portal", once opened, can never be shut... Quote: "State Sen. John Kissel, ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, who voted against the legislation, said experience shows that civil unions will just be a temporary answer and advocates will continue to press for gay marriage. In the age of Laodicea (Rev 3:14-22), the "people's rights" have once again prevailed. Instituted after the flood, the law is the only thing that keeps a check on the wickedness of man. Anti-Semitism 9 year high 5/04/05 |
A new
report published shows incidents of Anti-Semitism in the US are at a nine
year high.
Quote: "The League's annual Audit of Anti-Semitic
Incidents issued Monday, reported a total of 1,821 anti-Semitic incidents in
2004, an increase of 17% over the 1,557 incidents reported during 2003.
Among the factors contributing to the increase, according to the Audit, were
stepped up activity by organized neo-Nazi hate groups and a spike in reports
of anti-Jewish harassment and intimidation in America's schools. Sadly it seems the Church has utterly failed in its responsibility. We were meant to be examples to the Jewish people, provoking them to jealousy (Romans 11:11) because through their fall, salvation came to the Gentiles. Instead we have provoked them to hatred, confiscating God's promises to the Jews for ourselves, and teaching that God somehow was finished with Israel (Isaiah 66:22). Source Jerusalem Post |

Israel PA wants Jerusalem 5/04/05 |
Palestinian Prime Minister, Ahmed Qureia has put more
pressure on Israel to give up Jerusalem, or else there will be perpetual
conflict.
Quote: ""Without Jerusalem there will be no stability,
no security and no peace," Qureia warned during Thursday’s
“Save Jerusalem” conference in Ramallah. The battle is intensifying over Jerusalem, and will continue to. It is doubtful that Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza strip will satisfy the Palestinians, and with the US not prepared to back up Israel's claim to the Holy city (according to Condoleezza Rice), things look set to get much worse. Israel is not prepared to give up Jerusalem in any circumstances, which has been its capital for over 3000 years. Eventually Jerusalem will become such a sore point with the world, that all the nations of the world will gather against it to take it by force. Catholic Church Pope passes into eternity 2/04/05 |
Pope John Paul II, the leader of the Catholic Church, passed
into eternity today, aged 84. Whether he was saved or not, the Lord
knows them that are His (2 Timothy 2:19). Still, it makes me sad, when a
person who has achieved notoriety in this world, passes into the next, with
nothing. It
reminds me of the frailty of man.
Ecclesiastes
12:7-8 The Lord also takes no pleasure in the death of any man... Ezekiel 18:32 Knowing about God is not enough, even for the Pope (James 2:19). You need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This only comes through asking God to forgive your sins, and by faith, accepting that Jesus Christ took the punishment you justly deserve. The moment you do this, your sins are forgiven through the precious blood of Jesus Christ, God's Holy Spirit indwells you, and you become a child of God. Source Yahoo |

EU Constitution French "No vote" in majority 1/04/05 |
Panic has spread throughout France as the polls now show that the "No"
campaign for the EU Constitution is in the majority. As usual, rather than
try to convince voters of the benefits of voting yes, French politicians
have stepped up their campaigns to try and convince voters that voting
"No" will mean staying in a Europe they do not like. EU ministers
would rather have us governed by a group of unelected bureaucrats from
Brussels, than by politicians, elected by the will of the people.
What the EU constitution does provide for, is a European President and Foreign Minister. The current self-appointed European Foreign Minister is Javier Solana, who has been involved in numerous peace deals across the globe. He is also currently the Secretary General of the Western European Union (a group of the 10 original nations, which is a separate entity from the whole European Union). Whether there will be a proper European President or not, who knows. But Daniel states that it will be the "Prince" (Ruler) of the "people that shall come and destroy the city (Jerusalem) and sanctuary (Temple)", will be the one who will broker the peace deal spoke of in Daniel 9:27. Many believe these verses were fulfilled by Titus, when he destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD, along with the temple, literally not leaving one stone on top of another (to get at the gold between the stones), Luke 21:6. Therefore many believe that the Antichrist will rise out of Europe, the Revived Roman Empire. Source Yahoo |
