This link from my friend Brian. The Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, has reported that Holland recently aborted a mission to infiltrate and sabotage the Iranian weapons industry over fears of an impending strike against the nation's nuclear facilities. According to the article, a senior agent was recently removed from the country in the belief that the US was about to approve an air strike against one of the locations they were working in. The strike was to be carried out using unmanned aircraft. The news follows increased rhetoric between Iran and the West over the threat of a possible strike. Just last week it was revealed that the Israeli government has finally agreed that a nuclear Iran is not an option, and Israel would be willing to go to war to stop that from that from happening. Iran is also upping the anti. Last week Brigadier General Jazayeri of Iran's armed forces warned that a strike on their nuclear facilities would plunge the world into a third world war, and countries such as the United States of America and Israel would be obliterated. General Mohammad Ali Jafari of the Revolutionary Guards also boasted that Israel would not dare to attack Iran for fear of unleashing a relentless barrage of missiles against them from their regional enemies. Quote: "Holland's military intelligence service (AIVD) recently suspended an intelligence operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging the Iranian weapon manufacturing industry following estimates that the United States plans to attack the Islamic republic in the coming weeks, according to a report by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, quoted by media worldwide Monday. The report stated that the operation, deemed successful, was recently halted due to preparations for an American airstrike in Iran. The Dutch believe that the bombed targets will include the locations of their espionage operation. I don't know how accurate this news report is. Possibly if unnamed aircraft were involved in the strike against Iran, they would be sent in first to destroy Iran's military defence systems. I would imagine that when it comes to targeting nuclear installations, manned aircraft would still be used to ensure that everything was destroyed. With the Osirak reactor in 1981 and the Syrian reactor in September 2007, there was only one target to be destroyed. The best method of attack was through the element of surprise. But Iran's nuclear facilities are spread throughout the country. They are also already preparing themselves for a possible strike, so there will be little opportunity for surprise. Iran will possess enough Uranium to build a bomb by 2009, and the Russian bear is now stirring. Timing is of the essence here. When is the best time to launch a strike? What will the reaction be, both of Iran and the rest of the Islamic world? It's impossible for us to know exactly what will happen, but we believe in the Mighty God of Jacob. He will defend His people, just as He has promised in His book. Isaiah 54:17 Praise God that as believers in Christ Jesus, we can share in this wonderful promise. Not because of any good we have in ourselves, for the Bible says that when we were in our sins, we were held captive by the evil one (2nd Timothy 2:26, John 8:34). But through faith in Christ's sacrifice upon the cross, we have been freed from our bondage to sin and death (Romans 8:1-2). And now we have been translated from the power of darkness into the Kingdom of God's beloved Son (Colossians 1:13). Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today (Acts 16:31). |
