Link from my friend Tony... As Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, prepares to visit Damascus on the second leg of his Middle East tour, Israeli military sources have revealed Syria is setting up possibly thousands of rockets on the border with Israel in preparation for a low intensity war. Israel's failure to overpower Hizbullah last Autumn has convinced President Bashar Assad that the Jewish state can be worn down by simple means rather than through advanced weaponry. Quote: ""We have noticed that in recent months Syria has deployed hundreds, possibly thousands, of medium- and long-range rockets along the border (with Israel)," one military source said. "Many of the rockets are hidden in underground chambers and in camouflaged silos, which make them very difficult to locate," the source added. The sources, three of whom were from the military and two from the government, said that Syria had built a system of fortified underground tunnels along its border with Israel, which they said posed "a real strategic threat" to the Jewish state. Last year the President announced his intentions to set up a sister organization to Hizbullah, who's aim would be to drive Israel out of the Golan Heights. That group, called the Committees for the Liberation of the Golan Heights, claimed its first attack against Israel this month. President Assad believes that Hizbullah could not overpower Israel by itself, but if Syria and Iran joins in the battle, Israel could be defeated. But it seems Bashar Assad has forgotten about the Mighty God of Jacob, for without God's help Israel will be defeated, but God will defend Israel for His name's sake. It seems that history will once again repeat itself... 1st Kings 20:28 Source Raiders News Network, WorldNetDaily |
