"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." - 1 John 1:7
Salvation by works is impossible. According to God's holy standard, every sin is repulsive and will be judged. We cannot attain God's favor by our own merit because we can never meet His holy standard. God sent His Son to die in our place so we can be justified through His blood. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Through His blood we can now say "He has made my heart clean and I stand righteous before God".
