"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul" - Mark 8 V36 "And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown." - 1 Corinthians 9 V25 With Thanksgiving holiday just over and all the shopping spree and boasting of profits by consumer goods companies, we can clearly see our world becoming more materialistic than ever before. When we love the things of the world more than our creator God, clearly it is the wrong direction we are heading. We may own a billion dollars on earth but it profits nothing when we take our last breath on earth and enter eternity. Christ our Lord however taught us that there is one investment we make on earth that will last forever. Any investment we make on earth for the kingdom of Christ will last forever. Do not invest on things that rusts, busts, or collects dust, but rather serve the living God and store for yourselves treasures in heaven. Praise the Lord!
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
