Anti-Semitism Vatican slams "Christian Zionism" 31/8/06 |
The Vatican envoy to Israel (yes, the Vatican is a political organization)
along with several other mainstream churches in Jerusalem have published a
joint declaration, slamming what they call "Christian
Zionism", and stating that Christian Zionists (Christians who have
a correct Scriptural view of Israel) are to blame for a state of perpetual
war in the Middle East. The Churches said that Christian Zionists (who
believe that God has given Eretz Yisrael to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their
seed for an everlasting possession) are basically racist (in other words,
"Arab haters" - despite many Christian Arabs also having a great
love for Israel), and as a result have actually hindered the peace process
in the Middle East.
Quote: ""The Christian Zionist programme provides a world view where the Gospel is identified with the ideology of empire, colonialism and militarism," said the declaration, accusing Christian Zionists of hurting hopes for Middle East peace. "We reject the teachings of Christian Zionism that facilitate and support these policies as they advance racial exclusivity and perpetual war," the declaration added. Unbelievable. Since when did the teachings of Christian Zionism advance "perpetual war"? Clearly these church leaders must read their history books as often as they read their Bibles. For if they read their history books they would realize that every war Israel has fought within the past 60 years has been initiated by their enemies, not Christian Zionists. Israel's enemies don't want the Jews in a square inch of "Palestine", let alone talking about 1967 borders. If the Church leaders read their Bibles, they would also understand why every born again Christian should love Israel (but not at the expense of all peoples) and the role Israel must play in end time prophecy. Romans 11:25-28 Amazingly for Reuters, this article is actually quite fair, and put the Christian Zionist groups, who responded to the declaration, in a positive light... Quote: ""We pray for peace. But we note with sadness that the present Palestinian government is totally dedicated to the destruction of Israel," the Christian Zionist groups said in their statement, referring to the governing Palestinian Islamist group Hamas. The prospect of Middle East peace talks has looked even more unlikely since Hamas's election victory in January. The group is formally dedicated to destroying Israel. "The problem in the region is not as simple as the Jerusalem Declaration makes out," the Christian Zionists' statement said. Some Christian Zionists believe that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land will bring about the end of the world and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Some also believe Jews themselves will have to become Christians or perish. The Christian Zionist groups in Jerusalem said they had no "thirst for Armageddon" and do not base their theological position on "end time prophecy". They called for dialogue with the clerics behind the declaration that condemned them. I thought the above quote from the article was extremely interesting, especially how "prophecy", "Armageddon" and similar phrases seem to be popping up more and more in the mainstream media. A sign of the times? Source Reuters |

The Libel Media UK TV to show "Bush assassination" documentary 31/8/06 |
The TV Channel infamous for breaking every conceivable moral barrier that
exists - in the name of educating the public, is planning a new documentary
that aims to investigate what would happen if the man they love to hate got
a bullet in the head. No longer satisfied with screening educational
programmes showing dissected human cadavers, and broadcasting blatant
pornography in flagrant disregard for OfCom's supposed rules, Channel
4 are going even further to get their ratings "fix". In the
Autumn of 2007, Channel 4 will broadcast a show that will examine the
political fallout from an assassination attempt on George Bush Jnr's life.
We know the BBC and Channel 4 would love this to happen in real life, but
since this is unlikely to occur - and even I don't think the broadcasting
corporations would be willing to go as far as murder, they're exploring what
could happen in the event President Bush was killed. And they're not even
hiding the fact that this show is going to be slanted against Bush...
Quote: ""Death of a President," shot in the form of a documentary examining the assassination, will use a blend of archival footage and computer-generated special effects to portray Bush in October 2007 arriving in Chicago during an anti-war rally. In the film, Bush is killed by a sniper, and the investigation quickly focuses on a Syrian-born man. It will air in October on Channel 4's More4 digital channel, as well as at the Toronto Film Festival in September. "It's a pointed political examination of what the war on terror is doing to the American body politic," said More4 boss Peter Dale at a press conference on Thursday. Promotional materials described the programme as "a thought-provoking critique of the contemporary U.S. political landscape." For those who understand "liberalspeak", I'll translate for you. What Peter Dale just said was, "It's a hard hitting political assassination of that butcher President Bush". According to the British media, headed by the BBC, President Bush's war on terror is angering many Americans, and everyone else in the world. I was listening to a BBC anchorman just last night, interviewing a very rational-minded US diplomat involved in negotiations with President Ahmadinejad. The BBC interviewer couldn't do enough to paint Ahmadinejad in a positive light, while portraying the US as the aggressor. He literally said everyone else in the world doubted the US assertion that President Ahmadinejad's intends to develop nuclear weapons and is a threat to world peace. He stated that a recent poll showed most people in the world believed America was a greater threat to world peace. I couldn't believe the US diplomat managed to keep his cool, being asked such a question. Someone who was brought up just listening to the BBC news could have a very twisted view of the world. Praise God that He has shown us the truth through His Word... Nehemiah 9:13,20 John 7:37-38 Source Reuters |

Wars and rumours of wars Russia to deploy GPS system by 2010 30/8/06 |
The Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov has just announced plans for a
new Russian global positioning satellite (GPS) system, which they expect to
be operational by the year 2010. A total of twenty four satellites will be
launched by Moscow, and will form a network called Glonass,
which is expected to counter the US dominant GPS system, as well as provide
a major boost to Russia's defence capabilities.
Quote: "Russia's 24-satellite navigational and global positioning system, Glonass, will be fully deployed by 2010, the country's Defense Ministry said Wednesday. The ministry's press office said the development and use of Glonass was discussed in Moscow at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and members of a government military commission. "In his introductory speech, Sergei Ivanov said Glonass was extremely important to the country's defense and its economic development, and was ranked among the strategically vital elements of the country's infrastructure," the office said. Those who have been keeping up to date with the 2007-2010-2013 news briefings will realize that Russia isn't alone in their efforts to create their own satellite defence network. Europe also is aiming to launch its own satellite network called GMES network (Global Monitoring of Environment and Security), which will significantly boost the EU's ability to make war. The fact that these two power blocs are both aiming for 2010? Gog's getting ready for his big showdown with the Revived Roman Empire. |

Wars and rumours of wars AP sanitizes Ahmadinejad's criticism of Israel 30/8/06 |
Will be busy this week at missionary meetings in my home town of Bangor,
so news updates might be slow.
My friend Tony sent me this link this morning of a recent speech made by President Ahmadinejad. The article is written by Ali Akbar Dareini of the Associated Press. President Ahmadinejad has publicly challenged President Bush to a televised debate on Iran's nuclear programme. The US has rebuffed his offer as a "diversion" intended to silence the legitimate concerns of the international community. What caught Tony's eye was the President's criticism of Israel, which he blamed for imposing dozens of wars on the Palestinian people and surrounding Islamic nations. Quote: ""The Zionist regime has deprived the Palestinian nation and other nations of the region of a single day of peace. In the past 60 years, it has imposed tens of wars on the Palestinian nation and others," he said Tuesday. As Tony says, this is pure lies. But checking on the article in Yahoo and the Houston Chronicle, I cannot find Tony's quote anywhere, even though a Google search states it was in there at one time.
I eventually found some articles that still had the quote, the Gulf News, and the Hong Kong Standard, and the International Herald Tribune. It seems we in the West are succumbing to the rare condition called TBN'itis, where criticism of Islamic terror must be silenced no matter how just. Hurt not the oil or wine Experts: Oil to peak in 2010 29/8/06 |
This link from my friend Dawn...
Within 1500 days or four years, the world's oil production will have peaked, experts are predicting. With no major oil deposits being discovered and demands increasing as China's economy expands, it is expected by the year 2010 the world will have a serious crisis on its hands. It's not that oil will suddenly run dry, rather demands will outstrip the supply available, and the price of oil will rocket. The world has been brought up on a diet of cheap Middle East oil for years, and unless the world can switch their economies over to other energy sources, we could be facing a financial catastrophe. With current rates of consumption it is believed even if we found another "Saudi Arabia", it would last only 20 years. Quote: ""Oil supply will peak in 2010-11 at around 92 to 94 million barrels a day," he said. "We have just 1500 days to peak. Collectively, we are still in denial." There are some that claim there is no such thing as "peak oil". Most notably the oil suppliers themselves. There are other energy sources available, and my uncle says that if farmers in Europe were paid to grow rape seed instead of leaving their fields empty, we could solve the oil crisis overnight. But it seems the world economies run on crude oil, and suppliers aren't too happy about the thought of losing their businesses to other energy sources. We've already seen how fragile the world's supply of oil is, when GazProm in Russia cut supplies to most of Europe over the price of oil last year. Javier Solana was directly involved in mediating between Russia and the Ukraine during that crisis. With most major deposits of oil located in the Middle East, and as global supplies start to ebb, perhaps the need to secure energy supplies will become one of the hooks in Gog's jaws that brings Russia against Israel in the latter days. Ezekiel 38:13 In any case, the world is heading for a financial collapse, which will peak during the tribulation period. Revelation 6:5-6 Source Adelaide Now |

Morals Gay march to be held day before Rosh Hashana 28/8/06 |
Just a few weeks ago, WorldPride decided to postpone their annual homosexual
march through the streets of Jerusalem. Once again, the threat of Islamic
terrorism was the reason given. Even though the march was cancelled, the
show went on, and hundreds of homosexuals descended on Jerusalem for a
week-long celebration of "tolerance". But with peace now ensuing
in the region, the Jerusalem Open House has decided to restage the homosexual
march next month, just a day before Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year.
Quote: "The Open House views the parade, which will take place a day before the eve of Rosh Hashana, as having "a central role in the ongoing struggle for the promotion of the freedom of expression, the rights of the (Gay and Lesbian) community in Jerusalem and the promotion of democratic and pluralistic values in and around the city. The parade has a great significance this year especially due to the unprecedented wave of incitement the Jerusalem community suffered from before and during the World Pride events." On the Jewish calendar, Rosh Hashana is the beginning of the new year, and also marks the anniversary date on which it is believed God created the world. Following Rosh Hashana are the "Days of Awe", days of repentance during which every observant Jew will confess his or her sins they have committed. The thought is that if confession is made during this period, that God will repeal His judgement due to them for their sins on the day of Yom Kippur. Quote: "The first day of Tishrei is called "a day of shofar blasting" (Numbers 29:1). Our oral tradition tells us that this day marks the anniversary of the creation of the world. Hence it is the day when, every year, G-d "takes stock" of Creation, judging our actions. Thus, we call it Rosh Hashana, the "Head" of the Year; for just as the head directs the body, so too, G-d's judgment on Rosh Hashana directs the events of the coming year. After the "days of Awe" the official national day of repentance is observed, Yom Kippur or the day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. It was on the day of Atonement that the High Priest of Israel entered the Holy of Holies, and sprinkled the blood upon the mercy seat to cover the sins of the nation. This was a picture of the sacrifice Jesus Christ would make on the cross for our sins. And just one day before all these days are observed, hundreds of homosexuals will be prancing down the streets half naked and committing indecent acts in the sight of men. Horrific. The nation is facing threats from without such as Hizbullah and Iran, and threats from within such as Olmert and Peres. And instead of repenting from their wickedness and turning to God, they are increasing their abominations. As Moses said, it's not the sound of war in the camp, it's the sound of those that revel in sin. Will God be "taking stock" of what is happening in the midst of the city where He placed His name? If this incoming Jewish year witnesses the beginning of the seven year tribulation period, WorldPride had better start doing their repenting now. Ezekiel 18:30 Source YNet News, Ask the Rabbi |

Apostasy TBN axes Zola Levitt programmes 28/8/06 |
Zola Levitt, a Jewish Christian who conducted prophecy based tours in Israel
as well as hosting his own television series "Zola Levitt
Presents", has become the latest victim of TBN's "Religiously
Correct" programming censors. Zola died
last April from cancer, and his son Mark has vowed to continue in his
father's ministry. In January of this year, Trinity Broadcasting Network
also axed Hal Lindsay's Intelligence
Briefing, on the grounds his programming "placed Arabs in a
negative light".
Quote: ""Our television ministry could be facing its own Armageddon of sorts," wrote Mark Levitt. "TBN committed to continuing our broadcasts only so long as we could furnish new programs that featured Zola. A high-level TBN executive suggested that Jeff's TV series on Isaiah would be satisfactory thereafter in terms of being neither too pro-Israel nor unduly anti-Arab. TBN, you see, is modifying its programming to be suitable for broadcast in Arab nations. Despite our best efforts to appease their programming directors, our last program on TBN will air on Monday, Aug. 28." While offending other religions isn't our goal, I think that pandering to the Islamic world by suppressing views that might offend no matter how justifiable, is wrong. Where do you draw the line? Stating that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, according to the Qur'an, is an unforgivable sin. Will TBN suppress the Gospel for the sake of winning larger ratings? The Gospel is already being suppressed here. Most broadcasting on the Christian networks is Bible teaching for Christians, or the "prosperity gospel" message. We can't afford to suppress any more. 2nd Timothy 4:3 Source WorldNetDaily, WorldNetDaily |

Peace agreement EU launches biggest force in its history 27/8/06 |
The European Union has just launched its biggest
peacekeeping force in its 50 year history. With over 7000 soldiers to be
deployed in Lebanon, Spanish Foreign Minister Miquel Angel Moratinos is
boasting that the EU has proved to the world that it is capable of acting independently
of the US, and is willing to put troops on the ground rather than just
finance peace initiatives. Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema also
stated that Lebanon is just the beginning for Europe's role in the Middle
East, that the ultimate goal is for a peace agreement for the whole
region. The Centre for European Reform's foreign policy director Mark
Leonard believes the EU now has a new-found "strategic" role in
the Middle East, while others are lampooning the US's inability to act as an
honest broker in the region - citing their staunch support of Israel,
"difficulties" in Iraq and Afghanistan, and refusal to bow the
knee to Ahmadinejad's threats.
Quote: ""The time has come for European efforts to relaunch peace in the Middle East," he [Moratinos] said Friday after his EU counterparts met in Brussels with UN chief Kofi Annan. "Europeans are gaining more in credibility, in presence and engagement in the future of this region, which is our region," he said Saturday. Italy, which will be the the force's biggest contributor with up to 3,000 soldiers and which will take over its command next February from France, was hopeful that the commitment would mark a new era of EU influence in the region. "It's the first time that Europe assumes such a strong responsibility in the region and we hope there will be a change, not only for the stabilisation of the border between Israel and Lebanon, but also to push peace in the whole region" said Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema. With all this talk of Europe's new peacekeeping role, you'd be forgiven for thinking the Europeans had single-handedly solved the entire Middle East situation overnight. The EU certainly has come a long way since the Rafah border agreement last year, in which the EU became the first 3rd Party permitted by Israel to be directly involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Now with a large EU presence on the ground, its only a matter of time before the EU decides to intervene in other areas in the Middle East, such as Gaza, Judea and Samaria. Gaza, as I reported a few days ago, is already being discussed by EU ministers. This may mean more EU troops in Sinai and the Golan, paving the way for President Olmert's desired "covenant of peace". All this is of course in accordance with Daniel's prophecy, that the Antichrist who shall confirm the covenant, shall be a European leader and shall command forces in the Middle East in an effort to keep the peace. Wars and rumours of wars Iran to announce heavy water reactor completed 26/8/06 |
Iranian officials have disclosed what the "special" announcement
President Ahmadinejad intends to make in regard to Iran's nuclear programme.
Later today, the President will formally inaugurate the Arak
heavy water nuclear reactor, officially marking the "nuclear
birth" of Iran. The reactor core itself is expected to come online in
2009, and will produce enough Plutonium to create 1 nuclear bomb per year.
The European incentive package included the building of a couple of light
water nuclear plants, which run on enriched Uranium, but at a lower level of
enrichment than that required for nuclear weapons. It was thought that this
method of nuclear power was easier to monitor. The Arak heavy water reactor
will enable Iran to eventually produce nuclear weapons without using
enriched Uranium.
Quote: "An official source announced the completion of the heavy water plant, Saturday. According to the source, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is expected to speak publicly to this effect later in the day, in order to declare formally that the plant is up and running. Meanwhile, as the deadline for Iran's compliance with the UN Security Council resolution looms, there is still disagreement over exactly what course of action should be taken. Russia insists that the diplomatic option should continue as long as Iran was willing to talk, while the US is now seeking to bypass the UN and form its own coalition who will impose sanctions on Iran. The phrase, Nero fiddled while Rome burned, comes to mind. Source YNet News |

Dividing the land No world embassies to remain in Jerusalem 25/8/06 |
It's official. If everything goes according to plan, no nation on earth will
regard Jerusalem as Israel's undivided eternal capital. Last week Costa Rica
decided to move its embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, and today El
Salvador announced plans to do the same. These were the only two nations
that had their embassies in Jerusalem, as a recognition of Israel's ancient
historic and religious link with the city.
Quote: "El Salvador will move its embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday, in a move bound to upset Israel and please Arab nations. El Salvador would have been the only country in the world left with an embassy in Jerusalem after neighboring Costa Rica announced on Aug. 16 it would pull its diplomatic mission out of the city. Past Israeli Prime Ministers have stated that Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Israel, that was until this new breed of Israeli politician was born. Both Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres, and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert have revealed their plans to ditch Jerusalem, of which the Psalms state, every Jew should count their chief joy. Peres, who was educated by the Jesuits, is willing to hand Jerusalem over to the Vatican. The Catholic Church wants to place a Pope in Jerusalem in order to present an "unbroken" line of Pope's from Peter to the return of Christ. Olmert, on the other hand, has already stated he is willing to hand over predominantly Arab areas of Jerusalem to the Palestinian Authority, effectively dividing the city in two. I believe the decision of these two nations shows us that every nation on earth has now been forced to take sides in regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in preparation for what is to come in the tribulation period. Peace covenant Italy mulls peacekeeping force for Gaza 25/8/06 |
Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema stated today
that if the expanded UNIFIL force proves to be a success in keeping the
peace in Lebanon, that EU troops could also be sent to police Gaza.
These remarks come as Italy agreed to send up to 3000 soldiers to head the
UN-EU peacekeeping force. French President Jacque Chirac has also announced
he plans to send up to 2000
troops to Lebanon.
Quote: ""The idea of sending UN troops to the Gaza Strip is currently being aired. But I think that if things go well in Lebanon, a similar positive process could also begin in the Gaza Strip: the release of [kidnapped soldier Gilad] Shalit, a Palestinian unity government that meets the criteria set by the international community, and the presence of a UN force to bolster the Palestinian government." This is of course the exact situation many of us have been predicting. An increased European presence in the Middle East will eventually bring about a situation where a "covenant of peace" can be signed with many nations. That peace agreement, which will be confirmed for seven years, is prophesied to fail catastrophically in the middle of that period. Due to that fact, along with Scriptures in Daniel describing the Antichrist's forces occupying many countries in the region, this peace agreement will only become possible through peacekeeping forces occupying many Middle East countries. Lebanon has become the first of those countries. Syria, Egypt, Libya, Sudan and Gaza could follow. And according to D'Alema, increased European involvement in the Middle East peace process is on the cards, in accordance with Biblical prophecy... Quote: ""Success would be the active presence of international and European diplomacy in the region, a presence that has been missing for many years. Europe has not counted for too much in the Middle East, and Israel has always related to it suspiciously. The Arabs thought that Europe hands out money, but for the important things, one must turn to the Americans. If, with the assistance of a UN and European presence, a positive process begins in Lebanon - the country is stabilized and the fundamentalist threat is removed from Israel's borders - that will show people in Israel that the international community can be efficient, that Europe can be efficient. Such a process would prove to Israel that it can ensure its security better through the politics of peace than through war. The main problem is that in Israeli politics, peace and security are two different, often contradictory things." Daniel 11:41-43 |

Wars and rumours of wars Giora: Ahmadinejad will sacrifice half of Iran to destroy Israel 25/8/06 |
I said yesterday that Iran's announcement of significant progress in
obtaining nuclear capability could throw the United Nations Security Council
into disarray, and that with Russia and China firmly backing the country,
enforcing sanctions would be an impossibility. Well it seems those
predictions have come true today, albeit somewhat prematurely. While the United
States is expecting sanctions will be enforced as the August 31st deadline
passes, Russia
still believes its too early to talk about sanctions and that the Security
Council must press ahead with diplomacy only.
Quote: "Russian Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov said Friday that Russia will continue to pursue a political resolution of the dispute over Iran's nuclear program and that it is too early to consider imposing sanctions, news agencies reported. "Talk about sanctions is premature and inexpedient, to say the least," Ivanov said in the Far Eastern city of Magadan, according to the news agency ITAR-Tass. "In any case, Russia will keep pressing for a political and diplomatic settlement coupled with full and strict observance of all non-proliferation regimes." And with these countries incapable of agreement, Ahmadinejad knows he is free to continue to threaten Israel with nuclear annihilation. Israel's former national security advisor has stated that if President Ahmadinejad ever became Iran's supreme decision maker, replacing Ayatollah al Khameini, he would probably be willing to sacrifice half of Iran if he could achieve the destruction of the Jewish state. Giora Eiland says that the United States has three basic options, but none of them are desirable. One, to give up on the diplomatic process completely and isolate Iran, just like North Korea. Two, accept Iran's nuclear status, but bribe the nation to suspend nuclear activity for a couple of years. Three, carry out a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. But time is running out. According to Eiland, we only have months before Iran goes nuclear. Quote: "The third option, said Eiland, was a military operation - born of the sense that the diplomatic process would not work and that there could be no compromise with an axis-of-evil power. However, internal political realities and public opinion in the US were not conducive to this, he said, nor was international support readily available. Furthermore, said Eiland, "this would be action that would have to be taken within months. If not, and if Iran continues enrichment, it will complete the research and development stage and have a proven ability which it can then duplicate at numerous sites. And at that point it could not be stopped by military action. Six months or 12 months from now would be too late, he said. Source YNet News, Jerusalem Post, Jerusalem Post |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran to announce nuclear "surprise" in days 24/8/06 |
While world leaders pour over Iran's 20 page response to the Six-Nation
incentive package, presented to Iran by Javier Solana, the High
Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, an
Iranian official has confirmed a report by the Middle East Media Research
Institute that President Ahmadinejad is planning to make a "surprise"
announcement on nuclear progress within days.
Quote: "A senior official in Teheran said Wednesday that in the next few days, a "surprise" was expected regarding Iran's nuclear program, Al-Jazeera reported. Teheran's apparent refusal to suspend uranium enrichment set the stage for a showdown at the UN Security Council later this month. Iranian politicians had previously promised retaliatory attacks against Israel and Western targets if economic sanctions were placed against the country for failure to halt its nuclear programme. So far, China and Russia have blocked the threat of sanctions, but if Iran still refuses to comply with the UN Security Council by August 31st, I doubt very much the international community could just stand back do nothing. If Iran is planning an announcement regarding progress on its nuclear programme, doing it just days or hours before the Security Council convenes could throw the entire UN into disarray. If that progress is anything along the lines of what some have been expecting, i.e. the "nuclear birth" of Iran, the international community would be forced to accept the fact that Iran had joined the nuclear club for better or for worse. Quote: "The Iranian news service Al-Borz, which is known to have access to sources in the Iranian government, predicted that on the first anniversary of Iranian President Ahmadinejad's government, in late August 2006, Ahmadinejad is expected to announce what the news service called Iran's "nuclear birth." In addition, an August 23, 2006 article about Iran's reply to the incentives proposal, that was posted on the Iranian Foreign Ministry-affiliated website www.tehrantimes.com, implied that Iran's nuclear technology had already reached the point of no return: "... If the West is seeking to impede Iran's nuclear industry, it should realize that Iran has passed this stage."(1) With backing from China and Russia the Security Council would be incapable of enforcing sanctions, and would be forced to do damage-limitation - possibly agreeing to allow Iran to pursue its nuclear ambitions with certain guarantees in return. Israel would then be faced with an impossible situation, a country now possessing a nuclear capability that is actively seeking its destruction. Source Jerusalem Post, JudeoScope |

Wars and rumours of wars Official: Israel needs to "go it alone" with Iran 24/8/06 |
An Israeli official speaking to the Jerusalem Post has confirmed what we've
all been saying for some time now, that Israel may have to "go
it alone" in regards to the Iranian nuclear crisis. Iran's
disappointing response to the Six-Nation incentive package, which stated
that Iran was ready for "serious negotiations" with the
international community (what have we been doing until now?), but would not
halt its Uranium enrichment programme, coupled with China and Russia who are
prepared to talk until we're all blue in the face, has made some in Israel
realize its now up to them to once again bring the world back from the brink
of a nuclear conflict.
Quote: ""The Iranians know the world will do nothing," he said. "This is similar to the world's attempts to appease Hitler in the 1930s - they are trying to feed the beast." He said there was a need to understand that "when push comes to shove," Israel would have to be prepared to "slow down" the Iranian nuclear threat by itself. The Israelis believe the US will be incapable of intervening in Iran. They are overstretched in Afghanistan and Iraq, and due to international constraints on the US to abide by the failed "diplomatic" process, any military action against Iran might only be carried out by the summer of 2008. That is far too late to impede President Ahmadinejad's efforts to acquire a nuclear weapon, as some intelligence analysts believe Iran may only be weeks from making an announcement on significant nuclear progress. Quote: "Meanwhile, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported Wednesday that the Iranian news service Al-Borz, which it said is known to have access to sources in the Iranian government, predicted that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would announce what the news service called Iran's "nuclear birth" on the first anniversary of his government later this month. Morals School kids allowed to attend gay march 23/8/06 |
They were armed with placards with "diversity" and "school
with pride" written on them, and carrying the San Diego Cooperative
Charter School banner, but they weren't promoting racial equality, nor was
it their academic record that they were proud of. Instead school children,
many of them in their early teens, were on an official field trip to the
local San
Diego Gay Pride march. Not only did these young impressionable children
attend the march with the school's blessing,
but they couldn't have failed to witness some of the horrific sexual acts,
pagan rituals, and sadomasochism. But you won't hear about that from any
mainstream news organization.
Quote: ""In one of the most appalling displays of gross disregard for the safety of young children, the San Diego City School system allowed a number of small children to march inside of the San Diego Gay Pride parade under the banner of one of its schools," he said. That, despite the fact, "that these children were brought into the midst of a number of businesses promoting pornography and nearly nude men and women in graphic sexualised demonstrations." And of course, although the Gay Pride march which was scheduled to being on August 20th in Jerusalem was cancelled due to the fighting, the week-long festivities went ahead. That was despite protests from Christians, Jews and Muslims, who stated the event was an affront to the religious sensibilities of the residents of the city. Some Rabbis have stated that they believe the outbreak of the conflict with Hizbullah, which occurred on the same week the WorldPride leaders convened to decide the location of the march, was permitted by God to punish Israel for their immorality. Last year, a Gay Pride march scheduled for Jerusalem was cancelled due to the Gaza disengagement. My friend James is also of the opinion that Israel's "defeat" in Lebanon could have something to do with this Homosexual event. Quote: ""When God’s presence is in the camp, nothing can happen to the Jewish people," Brody stated. Mark of the Beast VeriChip seeks to implant US soldiers 22/8/06 |
This fascinating link from my friend Adam...
VeriChip Corporation, manufacturers of the VeriChip, are seeking a contract with the United States government which could see 1.4 million service men and women implanted with a radio identification tag. The company is currently in discussions with the Pentagon regarding the proposal. If it is adopted, an RFID chip would be inserted in the right arm or hand of willing individuals - according to the report, and could eventually replace the metal "dog tags" currently worn by US soldiers. The CEO of VeriChip recently caused controversy after suggesting the US immigration problem could be solved by implanting immigrants with RFID microchips, who could then be traced if they went missing. Quote: "VeriChip Corp, based in Delray Beach, Fla., and described by the D.C. Examiner as "one of the most aggressive marketers of radio frequency identification chips," is hoping to convince the Pentagon to allow them to insert the chips, known as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips under the skin of the right arms of U.S. servicemen and servicewomen to enable them to scan an arm and obtain that person’s identity and medical history. The chips would replace the legendary metal dog tags that have been worn by U.S. military personnel since 1906. The device is usually implanted above the triceps area of an individual’s right arm, but can also by implanted in the hand if scanned at the proper frequency. The VeriChip responds with a unique 16-digit number, which can correlate the user to information stored on a database for identity verification, medical records access and other uses. The insertion procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, and once inserted it is invisible to the naked eye Yesterday the US government started officially printing RFID-enabled US passports, despite concerns that RFID tags could be read at large distances (tests prove as far as 70 feet, with the aid of a large scanner), and duplicated. Quote: "Two weeks after the potential dangers of RFID chips embedded in passports were demonstrated at a security conference, German chip manufacturer Infineon has been given the nod by the US Government to supply millions of chips for US passports. RFID passports hold personal information that can be scanned and read and viewed on a computer screen and the Infineon based system is expected to be installed on millions of US passports. With a global identification system capable of tracking the movements of people across borders, along with RFID in supermarkets eliminating the need for cash, all the necessary technology will soon be in place, allowing the implementation the Mark of the Beast which shall be issued by the Antichrist during the tribulation period. Wars and rumours of wars Iran attacks Romanian oil-rig 22/8/06 |
A Romanian oil-rig moored off the coast of Iran has been attacked
by Iranian forces. Shots were fired at the rig by an Iranian gunboat, which
the vessel was on tow for maintenance work. The oil-rig was subsequently
occupied by the Iranian troops.
Quote: "A statement on GSP's website, signed by company president Gabriel Comanescu, said the Iranian action was a "flagrant breach of all the international rules". It said that since Monday, Iranian military helicopters and ships had been "trying to intimidate the Romanian crew aboard the rig". Then early on Tuesday "an Iranian military cutter boat opened fire against the Orizont rig, in the stern crane" and Iranian troops occupied the rig, the statement said. "We do not know if anyone is hurt," it added. It's not clear why Iran attacked the rig, but President Ahmadinejad had promised a multi-faceted response by 3:30pm today, to the Six Nation nuclear incentive package presented by Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy on 06/06/06. Romania is scheduled to join the European Union on January 1st, 2007. Iran's nuclear negotiator, Larijani, is expected to hand a written response to the six world powers, rejecting Javier Solana's incentive package, in an attempt to drag the process out in order to buy Ahmadinejad more time to develop nuclear weapons. Quote: "Ali Larijani, chief nuclear negotiator, will hand Iran's written response to foreign ambassadors in Tehran at 4 p.m. (1:30 p.m. British time) at the Supreme National Security Council, which handles the nuclear file, a senior Iranian nuclear official said. Tensions rose further as diplomats close to the U.N. nuclear watchdog said its inspectors were denied access to an underground site under construction where Iran plans industrial- scale production of enriched uranium. A senior diplomat said blocking inspectors this way could be a violation of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty since the U.N. inspectors have a right to verify design information during the construction of a nuclear facility. |

Wars and rumours of wars Eitan: Israel must prepare for Iranian missile 22/8/06 |
On the day that Iranian President Ahmadinejad is to formally respond to the
nuclear incentive package offered by Javier Solana, a senior Israeli
politician has warned Israel must be ready for an Iranian missile
strike. This comes after Israel suffered a month-long bombardment of
nearly 4000 rockets, and was unable to halt the strikes, some say due to
poor military decisions by the Olmert government. Previous Iranian
Ayatollah's have boasted it would take just one nuclear-tipped missile to
destroy Israel, while any counter-strike would cause only limited damage to
Iran due to its geographical size.
Quote: ""We are liable to face an Iranian missile attack. The Iranians have said very clearly that if they come under attack, their primary target would be Israel," Rafi Eitan, a member of the decision-making inner cabinet, told Israel Radio. Iran could fire missiles at the Jewish state "therefore we must prepare for what could come, and prepare the entire country for a missile strike attack, to prepare all the civilian systems so they are ready for this," Eitan said. Ahmadinejad is continuing to up the war-anti, making more threatening statements, not only against Israel, but also the US and Britain. In his speech, he slammed both countries for conspiring to attack Lebanon, for preventing a cease-fire and for abetting the crimes of the "Zionist regime". He stated that the US and Britain were not worthy of being members of the UN Security Council, and warned both countries that they would be forced to bow before the might of Iran. Quote: "If you want to have good relations with the Iranian people in the future, you should acknowledge the right and the might of the Iranian people, and you should bow and surrender to the might of the Iranian people. If you do not accept this, the Iranian people will force you to bow and surrender. Meanwhile, Kim Jong II is also sabre-rattling again, warning the US it will consider a pre-emptive strike on the south, due a joint US-South Korean military exercise that is currently being conducted by the two nations. North Korea recently test-fired around 8-10 missiles earlier in the year, including a long range missile capable of reaching the continental US, drawing immediate worldwide condemnation and the threat of sanctions against the isolated communist state. Quote: "In its official media, North Korea said the drills were "an undisguised military threat and blackmail against the DPRK (North Korea) and a war action". The drills were a violation of the truce that ended the 1950-1953 Korean War, it said. "The Korean Peoples' Army side, therefore, reserves the right to undertake a pre-emptive action for self-defence against the enemy at a crucial time it deems necessary to defend itself," the North's KCNA news agency cited an army spokesman as saying. Peace agreement Italy pledges 2000 troops for Lebanon 21/8/06 |
Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi has signalled his country's willingness to
send 2000 troops to lead the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, a move which
has been welcomed by Israel. French President Jacque Chirac had originally pledged his country
would lead the force, but has since retracted that offer. France currently
adopts a pro-Arab attitude, but balked over confusion on exactly what goals
the UN force would be aiming to achieve. France lost a large number of
troops in Lebanon around 20 years ago, when a building was blown up by
terrorists. France committed 400 troops out of 15,000 necessary to
enforce the peace. Israel has insisted that countries such as Malaysia who
refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist should not have a part in
policing any cease fire. It was feared that if European countries did not
step up to the line many Muslim nations would, and the rearming of
Hizbullah would go on effectively unhindered. But now Italy,
with whom Israel enjoys good relations, has offered to lead the UN
peacekeeping force, resolving a number of problems, and possibly fulfilling
some prophecy at the same time.
Quote: ""The international community must now designate the leadership of this international force, give it robust rules of engagement and deploy it as quickly as possible to secure the peace," Bush told a news conference in Washington. Italy is of course where the Treaty of Rome was signed some 50 years ago, which effectively brought into being the European Union. The fact that Italy may now lead a peacekeeping force in the Middle East is particularly significant, considering the Antichrist as the head of the Revived Roman Empire, is prophesied to overrun many Middle Eastern countries, and attempt to bring about a covenant of peace for 7 years. This is what many Christians including myself have been saying for years would happen, and finally its starting to come to pass. Daniel 11:39 Source YNet News |

Peace agreement Amid war, officials talk of Middle East peace 21/8/06 |
A number of friends have sent me a link from Herb's Fulfilled Prophecy
website regarding renewed hopes of a peace agreement in the Middle East...
While there is open talk of war from Lebanon's Druze leader Jumblatt, and Syria and Iran seem to be preparing for some sort of conflict with Israel and the US, voices within Israel are calling once again for the nation to make peace with their enemies. Neither Lebanon, Syria or Iran recognize Israel's right to exist. As far as I know, only Egypt and Jordan have actually signed peace agreements with Israel. But in spite of this, Israeli politicians still believe peace is possible if only they could give up more land. In 1967 several Muslim nations launched an unprovoked attack with the goal of wiping out the nation of Israel. In response to that threat Israel decided to occupy the Golan Heights, in order to prevent Syria from firing rockets into the country. But now Israeli Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter is suggesting Israel could give back the Golan Heights in exchange for a full peace agreement with a country that since 1948 has refused to recognize Israel. Quote: ""Syria is a very significant country for us in regards to the texture of life in the region," the minister said. "I think that a process of discussions with Syria is legitimate. If it turns out that there is someone to talk to, I think that the idea is very suitable. Israel can initiate it. Ultimately, initiatives of this kind are of a third party – and there is an abundance of third parties in the world. If a third party approaches us, we must reply in the positive." And again, no prizes for guessing who that third party will be. The EU already has agreements with Syria and Israel with the European Neighbourhood Policy, along with many other Middle Eastern nations. The EU is in the perfect position to exploit that agreement and bring "peace" to the region. And our friend Javier Solana, the High Representative of the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, is as we speak working on such a peace initiative. This was posted by Constance Cumbey on Fulfilled Prophecy, as well as on her own weblog. Three Arab countries, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, are all pressing for a new peace agreement to be implemented with Israel, with the goal to ending instability in the region. All these countries are concerned that the situation in Lebanon could deteriorate unless something is done quickly, and that Iranian and Syrian influence will increase unless some sort of peace accord can be signed. Quote: "In meetings with Israeli and Lebanese officials last weekend, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana spoke of the need to consolidate the Lebanon cease-fire, then work toward a comprehensive Middle East peace agreement. Solana's "feeling is that we now need a big push, otherwise we shall see more fires breaking out in the future," a European Union official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make statements to the press. |

Wars and rumours of wars DEBKAfile: Iran planning missile attack August 22 20/8/06 |
Sorry I didn't update earlier, my grandfather wasn't too well today and I
was round at his house. This link from my friends Tony and Jim...
Speculation is continuing over what will take place on August 22nd, in regards to Iran's nuclear programme. Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, presented Ahmadinejad on 06/06/06, with what was supposed to be an offer he couldn't refuse. Europe offered to build light water nuclear reactors and supply them with nuclear fuel, hand over advanced US nuclear technology and guarantee Iran's security, if they would comply with the UN resolution calling for Iran to halt its Uranium conversion programme. Iran has been defiant over this issue, and although Javier Solana stated he would only wait weeks for a response, President Ahmadinejad stated he would only give his answer on August 22nd. All this has led to speculation on what Iran is planning for this significant date. Some are wondering if Ahmadinejad is planning to unleash a devastating attack on Israel, lighting up the night sky with some sort of weapon, in a repeat of what happened in the story of Mohammed's journey to heaven. Quote: "DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources report that information rated “highly credible” has reached US undercover agencies of a secret report presented to Iran’s supreme ruler Ali Khamenei by Abdollah Shabhazi, one of the heads of the Supreme National Security Council. He claims to expose a mega-terror plot against Jerusalem scheduled for August 22, which aims at killing large numbers of Jews, Arabs and Christians. This atrocity will reportedly arm the United States and Israel with the pretext for hitting Iran’s nuclear installations, as well its capital, Tehran, and other big cities. Shabhazi says the US and Israel need to launch a military campaign to restore the deterrent strength they lost in the Lebanon war. The massive attack will reportedly focus on the Old City of Jerusalem and its eastern suburbs. The Iranian report claims that the plotters, who are not identified, are eager to recreate the divine white light whish spread over Jerusalem in the year 632. It does not rule out the use of a non-conventional weapon. I don't know what's going through Ahmadinejad's mind, but I would be inclined to believe the second scenario is probably more likely than the first, although I have no doubt that Ahmadinejad wants to hasten the coming of the Mahdi by starting a nuclear war. Iran does believe Israel is currently at its weakest, due to the fact they could not halt the barrage of rockets fired by Hizbullah from southern Lebanon. But to strike Israel now I believe would be premature. Ahmadinejad would risk the destruction of his nuclear programme, and the wrath of Israel and the US if he carried out an unprovoked attack. I believe Ahmadinejad will probably, if anything, make some sort of announcement of more progress on the nuclear issue, reject Europe's bribes, and play the process out as long as he can. If America and Israel then decide to carry out a pre-emptive strike, which I think would be necessary, Iran can then claim self defence in any future attack on Israel. Quote: "In addition to Bernard Lewis’s hypothesis, speculation is rife in Washington about what Iran has in store for next Tuesday. Tehran may announce success in producing enriched uranium of a higher grade, meaning it is no more than six months away from a weapons-grade capability. While providing justification for UN Security Council sanctions, Tehran prefers to believe that this announcement will be its passport for admission to the world’s nuclear club and its attendant privileges, including the right to enrich uranium independently. Still, all we can do it wait and see... Source Debka |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran holds military exercise for "insane enemy" 19/8/06 |
Iran is currently undertaking one of the largest military
exercises in its history, aimed at evaluating the professional
capability of the army in all areas. Joint manoeuvres in the air, on land
and on sea are being carried out, amidst the fear of a tactical strike
against Iran's nuclear facilities by either the US or Israel. Iranian
President Ahmadinejad has previously stated that even if the US attacks,
Israel will be the first target on Iran's list. Iran also plans to carry out
SAM (Surface to Air Missile) tests within the coming days, along with long
range missiles capable of striking targets 1200km away. No prizes for
guessing who these are for...
Quote: "According to him, "What we know about this enemy up until now is that it is insane. Therefore we must always be prepared in the face of this insane enemy." General Salehi added that Israel was taken by surprise by Hizbullah's response: "The enemy went mad, made erroneous calculations and attacked Lebanon. Of course, it received a decisive blow from Hizbullah when it was surprised by Hizbullah's capabilities. There are two options: either this revolting enemy learned a lesson, or it didn't." I read a few days ago that Prime Minister Olmert had decided to postpone his disengagement plan for the West Bank, after the ceasefire took effect and it was clear that this was no time to be dealing with internal issues when there is a very real external threat to the nation. The thought then occurred to me why Israel has supposedly lost the war with Hizbullah. In Israel's past wars, God granted Israel amazing victories when the odds were stacked against them. Not this time. What has changed? I believe former Prime Minister Sharon's decision to disengage from Gaza, and the current Prime Minister's intentions to disengage from Judea and Samaria are what could have prevented Israel from gaining a decisive victory. In every other war land was gained, not given back. Why would God bless a nation with victory, when they are walking contrary to His Word and in opposition to His promises? Wars and rumours of wars North Korea may be planning nuke test 18/8/06 |
There are growing fears that North Korea may be planning to carry out a nuclear
test, after suspicious vehicle movement near a suspected nuclear
test centre was picked up by US satellites. North Korea originally signed a lucrative
deal with the Clinton administration, in exchange for promising to give up
their nuclear programme. But a number of years ago, the communist state
revealed it had broken the agreement and would continue its nuclear
research. It is believed North Korea has enough enriched Uranium to build a
dozen bombs, but has never conducted a nuclear test. Last month North Korea
was condemned by the international community after it test-launched several
long range missiles, which are capable of carrying a nuclear payload.
Quote: "A senior military official told ABC News that a U.S. intelligence agency has recently observed "suspicious vehicle movement" at a suspected North Korean test site. The activity includes the unloading of large reels of cable outside P'unggye-yok, an underground facility in northeast North Korea. Cables can be used in nuclear testing to connect an underground test site to outside observation equipment. The intelligence was brought to the attention of the White House last week. This news of course comes only four days away from the Iranian President's promised response to the Six-Nation "incentive package", presented to Ahmadinejad by Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy. What that response will be is anyone's guess, but the date August 22nd holds an extreme religious significance for Muslims. It is the anniversary of the date the Muslim warrior Saladin conquered Jerusalem. It is also celebrated in Islam as the date Mohammed ascended to heaven. With Hizbullah's recent self-declared "victory" in Lebanon and Iranian confidence at an all time high, will Ahmadinejad's promise that "Israel had pushed the button of its own destruction" come to pass? Peace agreement Abbas agrees truce with Hamas 17/8/06 |
President Mahmoud Abbas is reported to have agreed a "truce" with
Prime Minister Haniyeh, which could see the end of Kassam rockets being
launched into Israel from the Gaza Strip (except the West Bank). Abbas had
met with Ismael Haniyeh on Monday to try and come to an agreement
on the National Reconciliation Document, which calls for terrorist groups
such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad to be merged into the Palestinian Liberation
Organization, headed by Abbas. This would enable Abbas to end the power
struggle between Hamas and Fatah, present a united Palestinian Front against
Israel and hopefully "moderate" some of Hamas' policies.
Quote: "[Abbas adviser Nimr] Hamad said Abbas hopes to form a national unity government based on a document drafted by Palestinian militants calling for a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, an implicit recognition of Israel's right to exist. Hamas officials approved the document in June. The document has been claimed by many news organizations to contain an implicit recognition of Israel's right to exist, but this was flatly denied by Ismael Haniyeh after the BBC and other media outlets started advising their viewers to read between the lines. In actual fact this document is one more stepping stone towards the ultimate goal of Israel's destruction. Meanwhile, France seems to be getting cold feet about the prospect of sending a peacekeeping force to Lebanon. 12 EU member states have so far signalled their readiness to send troops to the region, but news reports that France who was meant to be heading the peacekeeping operation would only be willing to send a dozen officers and 200 military engineers may mean Javier Solana will have his work cut out for him. As High Representative of the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, any EU force in Lebanon will come under his direct command. But with prospects of an "agreement" in the south of Israel as well as in the north, perhaps this may turn out to be Solana's hour of glory. Bring on the "covenant of peace". Quote: "The Palestinians hope that the formation of a unity government that represents all Palestinian factions would lead the international community, and particularly the European Union, to renew its financial support to the PA. The matter has already been discussed between Abbas and European envoy Javier Solana. Source Washington Post, YNet News, Monsters and Critics |

Aliyah 3 planeloads of immigrants arrive in Israel 17/8/06 |
This link from my friend Tony. Thanks everybody for your emails and news
updates, I'm finding it quite difficult to keep up with it all, but that's a
good problem to have. If I don't respond to your email for a while it's only
because I am busy and have so much information to get through!
Three airliners touched down in Israel yesterday, carrying Jewish immigrants who have chosen to make Eretz Yisrael their home. This marks a new record for the number of Jews making Aliyah from the West. With the current conflict in the Middle East pressing heavily on their minds, and Hizbullah rockets remaining a prominent threat, Jewish people continue to travel to the land of their fathers, fulfilling centuries old prophecies that the Lord would bring them back. Quote: ""You shall inherit the land and you shall settle it," Rabbi Fass told the crowd of new arrivals. “The moment you step off the plane you inherit the product of many years of sacrifice, blood and tears. Now you must settle the land, loving and embracing it." The Re-Engagement war and the days-old cease-fire were on many arrivals’ minds and the decision to come despite the difficult situation was a prominent theme in the welcome speeches by dignitaries. The president of El Al said that some of the pilots who flew the new immigrants to their new home were flying fighter jets in Lebanon just days ago. Isaiah 43:5-7 Ezekiel 37:12 Source Arutz 7 |

Mark of the Beast Europe to gear up anti-terror measures 16/8/06 |
This link from my friend Adam...
Just a few days after the US alerted the British government to an imminent attack that would have seen around 10 airliners bombed out of the sky by Islamic extremists, the UK is urging Europe to boost its anti-terrorism activities, including biometric scanning and genetic profiling at airports. It is believed that the way we travel could be affected permanently by the recent events in London, with hand luggage severely restricted due to the nature of the threat we are now facing. British Home Secretary John Reid hopes to make the internet a hostile place for terrorists, by banning sites that encourage people to carry out attacks or provide information on explosives. He also believes the UK can teach Islamic Imams how to prevent "radicalisation" of their followers. No idea how they are going to do that, but they haven't made a great start with the Finsbury Park mosque in London, in which was found explosives and guns, and from which the radical cleric Abu Hamza urged his followers to kill in the name of Islam. Quote: ""European nations may begin blocking Internet sites, fingerprinting or iris-scanning airline passengers and begin training Muslim preachers to fight radicalism, as part of new efforts to combat terrorism, ministers said here. Ministers from Finland, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia and France met in London on Wednesday with British Home Secretary John Reid in a bid to increase cooperation and information sharing between European countries. Afterward, in a press conference, members of the meeting laid out several directives that at their root signalled a shift in direction for the European Union, which has been loathe to limit individual freedoms or try to impose one set of values on all citizens. While I believe the protection of life is paramount, it seems the UK government may have also received a major boost to their electronic ID card initiative through this current crisis. The Labour government plans to make it compulsory for every person in the UK to own an identity card that contains an embedded RFID chip by the year 2010. Before the last election, the government sold their cards as the answer to illegal immigration which was then uppermost on the public's mind. When that fear dissipated, the "stick" changed to fraud. But the government was forced to admit they had probably oversold the advantages of the identity card system, stating it would not have prevented the London bombings. With Islamic extremism now affecting how we travel in a major way, it seems the only means of ensuring the safety of the public is to keep tabs on everyone, and in order to do that you need some sort of compulsory identification scheme. As my friend Adam reminds me, I said it will take a crisis to bring this in (the Mark of the Beast). The public won't accept their "civil liberties" being infringed for no reason. While we may have nothing to fear from the Mark of the Beast at the present (it is the Antichrist who will bring it in), those that are saved during the tribulation period will eventually have to face that reality. Weather Warmer world means more disasters 16/8/06 |
This link from my friend Adam...
A professor of Florida State University has published a new study on climate change, which he believes proves there is a direct link between global warming and increasing hurricane activity. Last year the United States was hit by a record-breaking number of hurricanes, including four Category 5 hurricanes which caused extensive damage and loss of life. According to the research of James Elsner, as long as world continues to heat up we can expect more frequent and more deadly storms. Quote: "Elsner looked at 135 years of records to examine the statistical connection between Atlantic sea surface temperatures and air temperatures near the sea surface, and then compared them to records of hurricane intensities. Atlantic hurricanes draw their energy from the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. He found that average air temperatures during hurricane season between June and November were useful in predicting sea surface temperatures, but not the other way around. "It appears that atmospheric warming comes before sea warming," he said, indicating that hurricane damage will be likely to continue increasing because of greenhouse warming. And according to a research team at Bristol University, the earth's atmosphere will continue to heat up. The team, lead by Dr. Marko Scholze, studied 52 different models of climate change over a period of 200 years. They concluded that even if we cut carbon emissions immediately, many parts of the world will face a greater risk of natural disasters, such as drought, forest fires, water shortages and flooding. Last year the European continent experienced terrible forest fires in the east, while experiencing torrential downpours in the west, all at the same time. Quote: "The results also suggest that should temperatures climb more than 3°C, land carbon sinks such as soils, forests, and frozen landscapes could release their stored carbon, initiating a positive feedback loop that would increase atmospheric carbon dioxide producing further warming. The research indicates that the "tipping point" where plants to net producers of carbon dioxide could arrive by the middle of this century. I find it hard to understand how people can continue on in their lives without God, when the whole world is heading for a complete disaster. With wars and rumours of wars, natural disasters, global pestilences and earthquakes in various places, men's hearts will be literally failing for fear of these things that are coming upon the earth. But rather than heeding the warning and turning to the One who created heaven and earth, they blaspheme the Lord that died to save them. Proverbs 1:24-30 Ezekiel 18:31 |

Wars and rumours of wars Israel to resume war if Hizbullah not disarmed 16/8/06 |
An official in Prime Minister Olmert's office confirmed that Israel would resume
the conflict if Hizbullah was not disarmed. Yesterday the French commander
of UNIFIL stated that it was not the UN's job to disarm the terrorist
organization, despite issuing a resolution to that effect. The Lebanese
ambassador to the UN also said that Hizbullah would not be disarmed by
force, but would leave the region south of the Litani river. Now it seems
Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora has struck a deal with Hizbullah, similar to
the deal brokered between Hamas and Fatah, whereby Hizbullah could hold on
to their rockets as long as they didn't display them publicly.
Quote: "Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora and Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah reportedly reached a deal allowing Hizbullah to keep its weapons but refrain from exhibiting them in public. Israeli officials called the arrangement a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which passed over the weekend and was approved on Sunday by the cabinet. "The resolution is clear that Hizbullah needs to be removed from the border area, embargoed and dismantled," the official said. "If the resolution is not implemented, we will have to take action to prevent the rearming of Hizbullah. I don't think backtracking will serve any useful purpose. There has to be pressure on Hizbullah to disarm or there will have to be another round." Yesterday a senior officer in the IDF also expressed concern that Hizbullah terrorists could be drafted into the Lebanese army, increasing fears that Israel could come under attack from terrorists still operating in the south. Secretary General Kofi Annan has confirmed the UN will not be responsible for disarming Hizbullah, and that the UN peacekeeping force could take months to reach full capacity. This may mean Israeli forces could face a prolonged stay in southern Lebanon, while Hizbullah, under the noses of the UN and the Lebanese army, rebuilds its forces. Quote: "Annan angered Israeli officials when he told Channel 2 on Tuesday that "dismantling Hizbullah is not the direct mandate of the UN," which could only help Lebanon disarm the organization. Annan upset officials further when he said that deploying international forces in Lebanon would take "weeks or months," and not days as expected. Source Jerusalem Post, Jerusalem Post |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran steps up war rhetoric 15/8/06 |
For apparently giving only "moral support" to the Hizbullah terror
organization, Iran and Syria seem to be making much of the celebrations over
the latest conflict with Israel. Thousands of Iranians took to the streets last night celebrating Hizbullah's
"victory", amid what seems to be a growing confidence emanating
from the Islamic
totalitarian states. Iranian cleric Ahmad
Khatamei warned Israel that if Iran is attacked, they will pose a bigger
threat to the Jewish nation than that of Hizbullah.
Quote: "He added: "The missiles shot by Hizbullah into Israel had a range of 70 kilometers and managed to turn Israel into a 'ghost country.' If the United States is considering attacking us, it must take into account the Iranian Shihab-3 missiles, whose range is 2,000 kilometers, and can hit the center of Tel Aviv." Meanwhile Mike Wallace, host of the US "60 Minutes" show, got more than he bargained for when he interviewed President Ahmadinejad last week. Mike Wallace came out of retirement specially for the interview and waited over an hour just for the man to turn up. He was promised 30 minutes by Iran, but the conversation continued for around an hour and a half. Mike described Ahmadinejad as a very smart and attractive man. While I would agree with that statement - even Satan has a certain deceptive allure about him, I cannot warm to the fact that the President has repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel, and continues to defy the world with his nuclear weapons programme. Quote: ""I hereby declare that this sinister regime [Israel] is the banner of Satan. It is the banner of the Great Satan," Ahmadinejad is seen saying in a speech broadcast by the Iranian News Channel (IRINN) on August 2. "From the southernmost point in South America to the easternmost point in Asia, all the people are shouting a single cry. With placards in their hands and clenched fists, they shout: 'Death to Israel.'" So once again a fanatical Islamic leader who believes its his job to herald the apocalypse by starting a nuclear war with Israel is portrayed in the West as a much misunderstood, benevolent dictator (where have I heard that phrase before?). I wonder if Mike Wallace had been interviewing Hitler, what his first impressions would have been. Source YNet News, Macon Daily, Arutz 7 |

Wars and rumours of wars Assad steps up war rhetoric 15/8/06 |
President Bashar Assad of Syria is continuing to up the war-anti, even after
a truce between Hizbullah and Israel entered its second day. The President
stated that Syria was ready for any future war
with Israel, and intended to liberate the Golan Heights if Israel attacked.
Israeli journalist David Dolan has said that efforts are underway in Syria
to de-mine the Golan Heights, and dozens of tanks have amassed on the Syrian

or not.
Quote: "Syrian President Bashar Assad said his country is prepared for any war that may break out with Israel , adding that he is convinced that the chances for peace have decreased and that "the Golan Heights will be liberated by Syria." In a special interview with Egyptian newspaper Al-Osboa, Assad said "if Israel launches a war against Syria, it will pay a heavy price." He said Syria has been following Israel closely, particularly after former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon came to power. Meanwhile, there seems to be confusion over who exactly is going to take Hizbullah's rockets off them. Yesterday, the Lebanese ambassador to the United Nations stated Hizbullah would not be disarmed "by force", but would voluntarily leave the area south of the Litani river. But now the French commander of UNIFIL, Major-General Alain Pellegrini, has stated he doesn't intend to move against the terrorist organization. Quote: "Dealing with Hizbullah, Pellegrini said, was an internal Lebanese matter, and the 15,000 UN troops to be deployed under his command would not get involved. It was up to Lebanon, he said, to deploy its army in the south and deal with the Hizbullah presence. The UN passed a resolution that a terrorist group responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Israelis must be disarmed, but they won't be the ones to do it? Looks like Hizbullah, courtesy of Lebanon and the UN, will be permitted to hang on to their murder weapons. Source YNet News, Jerusalem Post |

Idle Shepherd Sharon's condition worsens 14/8/06 |
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's condition has worsened again,
according to doctors at the Sheba Medical Center
in Tel Hashomer. Ariel Sharon had suffered a massive brain haemorrhage
shortly after the completion of the disengagement from Gaza last year, and
just as the Prime Minister was announcing more withdrawals from the West
Bank. Many prominent leaders in both Jewish and Christian circles, including
US television show host Pat Robertson, claimed the blow was judgement from
God for dividing His land. Some have even predicted Prime Minister Olmert
will meet a similar fate if he pushes ahead and disengages from Judea and
Samaria. Ariel Sharon's brain haemorrhage grew worse, and doctors put Sharon
into a medically induced coma to allow his body to recover. But the aging
Premier never awoke. Shortly after the beginning of the conflict between
Hizbullah and Israel, Ariel Sharon's condition worsened, and doctors
subsequently discovered an infection in his blood. Today, after the implementation
of the ceasefire between Israel and Hizbullah, doctors have warned once
again that the prognosis for Sharon isn't looking good. He is suffering from
double pneumonia,
and his brain condition has severely regressed.
Quote: ""In the coming days we'll be able to tell whether Sharon responds to the medicine he's given," Rothstein said. "If he responds, we'll go back to the situation we were facing before. If he doesn't respond to the treatment, the situation can deteriorate and get to a system collapse." The hospital director noted that Sharon's sons, Gilad and Omri, are being updated constantly despite performing reserve military service at this time. As I have said many times before, I personally believe Sharon's condition was a judgement from God. But that doesn't mean I don't have sympathy for the man. In Isaiah 29 God states that He will distress Ariel, the city where David lived. But the Lord's description of Ariel's "distress" seems to bear a remarkable similarity to that of Ariel Sharon's current condition. Shortly after Ariel Sharon suffered his stroke, there were conflicting reports on whether his speech was affected or not. The following verses, if they can be applied to the former Israeli Prime Minister, would seem to me to indicate that this judgement was from God. Isaiah 29:2-4 Isaiah 29:9-10 Isaiah 29:16-17 This from my friend David. He's done a bit of studying into the Hebrew roots of the word "Ariel", and come up with a few other significances in relation to the former Israeli Prime Minister... Quote: "H0740 'Ari'el -- pronounced: ar-ee-ale' the same as 739; Ariel, a symbolical name for Jerusalem, also the name of an Israelite: KJV -- Ariel. See Hebrew No. 739 H0739 'ariy'el -- pronounced: ar-ee-ale' or 'arilel ar-ee-ale' from
738 and 410; lion of God; i.e. heroic: KJV -- lionlike men. See
Hebrew No. 738 H0352 'ayil -- pronounced: ah'-yil from the same as 193; properly, strength; hence, anything strong; specifically a chief (politically); also a ram (from his strength); a pilaster (as a strong support); an oak or other strong tree: KJV -- mighty (man), lintel, oak, post, ram, tree. See Hebrew No. 193 <H0193> Ariel Sharon is of course not the only one to have a prophetically significant name. The current Israeli Deputy Prime Minister, Shimon Peres, as I have stated before, also has an interesting name in light of Bible prophecy. Shimon means "to hearken or to listen", while Peres means "to divide". H8095 shim'én shim-one' From H8085; hearing; Shimon, one of Jacob’s sons, also the tribe descendant from him: - Simeon. H6537 peras per-as' (Chaldee); corresponding to H6536; to split up: - divide, [U-] pharsin. Or in other words, "Hearkening to the division". Myself and some others believe Shimon Peres could possibly end up overseeing the division of the land of Israel, which Prime Minister Olmert has promised to complete by 2010, and which the Antichrist will implement according to Scripture. Wars and rumours of wars Lebanese UN official: Israel's truce will be its last 14/8/06 |
The ceasefire between Israel and Hizbullah officially began at 5 o'clock
this morning. The IDF have stated that they are willing give peace a chance.
The IDF have taken up positions along the Litani
river, and are ready to respond in the event of an attack. But as usual,
the feeling is not mutual. The Lebanese ambassador to the UN, Nouhad
Mahmoud, has boldly stated that his country will be the last
to sign a peace treaty with Israel. He gave no explanation for his comments.
He also stated Lebanon would not disarm Hizbullah. Instead the terrorist
group would be moved up north, giving the time to regroup and rearm before
the next offensive against Israel.
Quote: "The diplomat added that the 15,000 Lebanese soldiers to be dispatched to south Lebanon to help keep the peace alongside a similarly-sized international UN force "are not going to use force" to disarm the Hezbollah militia which has been battling Israel. "Hezbollah will just leave the area as armed elements as I understand it, and the Lebanese army will take over the whole region along with the United Nations forces," he said Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, has stated that a peacekeeping force could be deployed in Lebanon within 10 days. Quote: "The U.N. Security Council resolution agreed by Israel and Lebanon authorises up to 15,000 international troops and the U.N.'s Middle East envoy has estimated they could begin deployment in 10 days. "I would like to see people beginning to deploy by the end of the week, early next week -- elements of the force, the headquarters," said Solana. Source Jerusalem Post, Times of India, Reuters |

Weather Killer storms becoming more frequent 13/8/06 |
This link from my friend Adam...
The world will face killer storms on a more frequent basis than we're currently experiencing. That's according to meteorologists who are studying changing weather patterns. The storm that hit China last week, killing hundreds and causing widespread devastation, was the biggest one in 50 years. But in the not-too-distant future, University of Cape Town climatology professor Bruce Hewitson says storms like this one could occur every 10 years. Quote: ""A lot of energy built up in the atmosphere during this period and hot air was pushed south. During winter much of that energy returned and was expended in the recent extreme winter storms. "This is typically what one can expect from global warming and as it continues we can expect these extreme storms to get worse. "International experts agree that more-extreme weather conditions can be expected elsewhere in the world. Our weather in Northern Ireland has been very extreme lately compared to the norm, particularly this year. We've had weeks of very hot weather followed by days of constant rain and violent thunderstorms. Around 10-20 years ago, we used to experience very cold winters and hot summers. As a child I remember we used to get snow nearly every year, and we watched the icicles forming on the eves of the roof. Now our winters are very mild and our summers are cool. We rarely get snow and it when it does come, its usually in April, not December. The last time I saw an icicle was around 15 years ago. But we're thankful we don't have to face any hurricanes or typhoons. As my friend Adam says, men are getting better at predicting the weather, but when it comes to the signs of the times, that's a different story. The Lord said that as it was in the days of Noah, so also would it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man (Luke 17:26). Noah tried to warn the people of the impending judgement that would soon engulf the world. Sadly, according to the Scriptures, men were caught up in the legitimate things of this life, until the day the flood came and took them all away. Remember September 11th, which has been described by many as "the day the world changed". On September 10th, very few people knew what was about to happen. The destruction came suddenly and unexpectedly. Likewise, Paul states that the Day of the Lord will overtake the unbelievers as a "thief in the night", 1st Thessalonians 5:2. The Lord through His Word has been warning man for centuries on what is about to take place. On the judgement day you will not be able to say you never heard. Like those in Noah's day, you have refused to flee to Christ for refuge from the coming storm. Like those in Lot's day, you have scoffed at the thought God could judge this world that He created. There is still time to repent, but there won't always be. Revelation 10:5-6 Source IOL |

Gog and Magog Israel agrees resolution, achieved little 13/8/06 |
This link from my friend Dan...
The families of the two IDF soldiers that were kidnapped by Hizbullah terrorists one month ago have criticized Israeli Prime Minister Olmert, after he admitted that Israel could not make the release of the two young men a conditional part of the ceasefire. That was of course one of the original goals of the operation in southern Lebanon. If all goes according to plan, Israeli and Hizbullah guns should fall silent on Monday morning, but still the fighting rages. Over 230 rockets have landed in Israel Sunday, killing one man and wounding several. This brings the total number of rockets fired by Hizbullah during the conflict to around 3600. The Israeli Prime Minister agreed to the UN resolution this morning, but has stated it could take several weeks before the fighting would end. As some have been asking in regards to Bible prophecy, where are we now? It seems Israel has achieved little in its month long war with Hizbullah. The two captured IDF soldiers are still incarcerated in Lebanon. Hizbullah is still able to fire hundreds of rockets a day into Israeli territory. The operation in Lebanon has succeeded in uniting Syria, Iran and Lebanon in condemning Israel as an aggressor. Iran and Syria have been equipping Hizbullah with advanced missile technology, and Syria is preparing its troops for conflict. According to David Dolan, the Syrian army is removing landmines from the Golan Heights. Israel has been forced to end its operation early, resulting in Hizbullah proclaiming victory.... Quote: "According to Barakat (a member of Hizbullah's central council), "This is the reason that Shimon Peres said it was a life or death battle and this is why the triumph of the resistance is the beginning of the death of the Israeli enemy. For, if a mere organization succeeded in defeating Israel , why would Arab nations not succeed in doing so if they allied? Many Arabs and Muslims viewed Israel in a fictional way and the resistance has succeeded in changing this." ...Iran has succeeded in distracting the international community from its efforts to produce nuclear weapons. In short, I believe this war has emboldened the Islamic world, and as a result, Israel will face a much harder job when it comes to facing off Iran over its nuclear ambitions. Any attack on Iranian nuclear facilities will result not only in reprisals from Iran, but also Syria with whom Iran has a mutual defence pact, Hizbullah in Lebanon, Hamas and several other states itching to attack Israel. In the meantime, there will be a measure of peace. Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, states that European forces will be in the region "very, very quickly" after a ceasefire is implemented. I believe this peace must come before the Gog Magog war occurs. The Bible says Gog comes against Israel when the nation is at rest (idle or careless), not at war. But surprisingly Christians aren't the only ones now talking about this Gog war being on the cards. The Russian newspaper, Pravda, has laid out its own scenario for an apocalyptic Middle East conflict. As in accordance with Ezekiel 38, Pravda also believes Turkish and Russian involvement in the Middle East conflict is inevitable. Quote: "1. The war in Lebanon continues to flare. "Peace and safety" UN agrees resolution as conflict continues 12/8/06 |
It seems the UN has finally come to some sort of an agreement that Lebanon
can accept. Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora praised
Hizbullah, the terrorist organization that started the conflict in the first
place, for their steadfastness in defending the Lebanese people.
Quote: "Praising Hizbullah guerrillas, the prime minister said: "The steadfastness of the resistance fighters in the field was very important, as was the steadfastness and unity of the people," he said. Yes the "resistance fighters", which were directly responsible for the deaths of at least 50 Israeli civilians, many hundreds of Lebanese civilians, and the prolonged suffering of well over two million people, have been steadfast, if anything, in their murderous campaign. Meanwhile, most nations all over the world are praising this resolution which should hopefully pave the way for an end to the fighting. But Iranian Foreign Minister Mottaki, called the resolution "completely one sided" , saying it "serves the Zionist regime's interests". Quote: "Meanwhile, the European Union's foreign policy chief Javier Solana said: "It (the resolution) has taken probably too long a time to arrive at, but now it is approved unanimously by the Security Council," Solana told reporters in Beirut, where he met Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and other Lebanese officials. "I hope that once the governments of both countries accept the resolution, the ceasefire will be implemented," he added. But not just yet. Hizbullah has stated that they will not halt the attacks until all Israeli troops have left Lebanese soil, a repeat of what happened in Gaza, when Israeli forces withdrew while coming under fire from Islamic terrorists. Hizbullah will proclaim they are the true defenders of Lebanon, gaining yet more power and influence in Lebanon. Israel has stated it will discuss the UN resolution, but is still planning to triple its troops in Lebanon and advance to the Litani river. Talking about peace and actually implementing a peace agreement are two different things entirely. And the Bible warns us that when they shall say, "Peace and safety!", then sudden destruction will come upon them as a woman in travail with child, and they shall not escape (1st Thessalonians 5:3). |

Covenant with many Solana in Beirut, to visit Israel Sunday 11/8/06 |
This link from my friend David...
Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Union, or "Mister EU" as he has become affectionately known in France, landed in Beirut today and plans to visit Israel and the Gaza Strip on Saturday and Sunday. His arrival comes as discord seems to be growing over a possible solution to the current Middle East conflict. Hopes of a deal being done were dashed earlier in the week by Lebanon, as the nation once again rejected a draft UN resolution calling for an end to the fighting. The previous draft was slammed by Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora, along with leaders in Syria and Iran, for failing to meet Lebanon's requirements. These were that Israel should withdraw its forces from the south of the country and that thousands of Hizbullah prisoners residing in Israeli jails should be released, as outlined in the "seven point plan". Neither does this document call for the disarmament of Hizbullah, merely that the Lebanese army would "extend its authority" over the region. Quote: "4. The Lebanese government extends its authority over its territory through its own legitimate armed forces, such that there will be no weapons or authority other than that of the Lebanese state as stipulated in the Taef national reconciliation document Hizbullah is of course part of the Lebanese state, having its own ministers in the government. Quote: ""As you know, we have a policy towards Hezbollah. It's clear," (US State Department Deputy Spokesman) Mr. Ereli says. "It hasn't changed. And to the extent that there are active members of a foreign terrorist organization in a government, then our ability to interact and work with those individuals is circumscribed." In short this plan for Israel is a recipe for disaster, and a big sign to Hizbullah and Islamic groups operating in the Middle East that terrorism pays. With the UN in disarray and efforts continuing to water down the agreement to placate Lebanon, Israel is effectively being boxed into a corner, unable to eliminate a terrorist organization operating with impunity on its border. With the UN effectively paralysed by Iran, Syria and other hardline Islamic states, Hizbullah is already celebrating victory. They have taken on Israel, defied the international community and won. They will have achieved their goal of driving Israel out of Sheba farms, defending Lebanon against the Israeli aggressors and all without retreating from one inch of territory. Quote: "In the latest video aired on Al-Manar TV the terror group says it “defeated the invincible army” and “July-August 2006: Legend shattered.” So now Javier Solana has been tasked with working towards a resolution which he says will represent the beginning of a process that should end with a lasting solution for the entire Middle East. Quote: ""He is working for an end to hostilities and the launching of a process to create the political framework for a lasting solution," a statement from his office said. "This process will begin with the adoption of a UN Security Council Resolution to end the hostilities," it added. Quote: "An EU diplomat said Solana would be stating the EU’s views and looking to make progress towards a resolution at the Security Council, where no vote appears imminent. “He will discuss what is happening and try to push things forward, but it is not as if he has been tasked to try and agree a text or anything like that,” the diplomat said. Not yet anyway, but this could come later. If Javier Solana is our man, then the text he will agree will be Israeli Prime Minister Olmert's desired "covenant of peace", Daniel 9:27. Weather Hundreds dead after massive Typhoon strikes China 11/8/06 |
This link sent by my friend Adam...
The biggest typhoon to hit China in at least 50 years slammed into the Chinese coast yesterday. A category 5 storm with winds reaching speeds of up to 130mph triggered the evacuation of 1.5 million people. At least a hundred people have been killed and hundreds more are still reported missing, with the death toll expected to rise. Eight storms have hit China so far this year, resulting in the deaths of at least 1000 people. Quote: "Typhoon Saomai tore into Cangnan county in the eastern province of Zhejiang on Thursday after authorities moved than 1 million people in the densely populated commercial province to safety. By Friday noon, 104 people were confirmed dead and 190 were missing in Zhejiang and neighbouring Fujian province, Xinhua said. Some 54,000 houses were destroyed. US hurricane season last year saw a record breaking number of storms, including several killer storms such as Katrina and Rita, that resulted in mass devastation and loss of life. Although US meteorologists have predicted this year will be a quiet one in regards to hurricanes, with increased solar activity predicted to begin in 2007, we may be just experiencing the calm before the storm. Lies and rumours of lies Qana footage directed by Hizbullah "rescue worker" 10/8/06 |
Over the last few weeks internet blogs have been at the forefront of
revelations on how much of our press coverage of the conflict in the Middle
East is slanted against Israel. Photographs published by major news agencies
were manipulated by journalists in order to portray that Israeli response as
disproportionate, and causing massive destruction. Photos of the same
previously destroyed buildings were used over and over again by journalists,
with claims that they had just been destroyed by Israel in fresh bombing
runs. These photos helped perpetuate the myth that Israel, in French
President Jack Chirac's words, has a "wish
to destroy Lebanon", and was causing wanton desecration in the
country. Reporters were willing to take part in mass deception,
photographing Hizbullah fighters pretending to be dead Lebanese civilians,
killed in an overnight Israeli airstrike and buried by rubble. And
journalists actively participated in Hizbullah propaganda efforts, as they
took pictures of Lebanese "rescue workers" posing with the bodies
of dead children.
A lot of the allegations have been centring around one man who seems to appear in virtually every photograph that came out of Qana. He's been dubbed "Green Helmet Guy", and he supposedly works for the Red Cross in Lebanon. In a video released by a German TV company Zapp, our friend is seen lifting the body of a dead child from Qana into an ambulance in a stretcher. But what happens next reveals just how cynical our Lebanese "rescue worker" is, and how much of this "rescue effort" is really a Hizbullah propaganda exercise. After the dead child is lifted into the ambulance, "Green Helmet Guy" walks towards the German TV camera man and says, "Keep filming". He then explains that they need to get better footage. The dead child is then lifted back out of the ambulance onto the ground, while "Green Helmet Guy" puts a blanket back over the carcase, props up the child's face towards the camera and prepares to lift the stretcher back into the ambulance. Lies and rumours of lies Anti Defamation League criticize one-sided Kofi 10/8/06 |
The Jewish Anti Defamation League is planning to publish an advertisement
criticizing United Nations Secretary General for his one-sided
approach to the conflict now raging in the Middle East. The Anti Defamation
League has already written to the UN leader, expressing their distress over
some of his remarks since fighting broke out in Lebanon, and his failure to
condemn Hizbullah atrocities carried out against Israeli civilians.
Quote: "ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman accused Annan of being one-sided in terms of the Israel-Hizbullah conflict. In a letter to the UN secretary-general, ADL expressed its fury over the fact that the UN Human Rights Council had scheduled a special meeting, following a request made by Arab states and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, aimed at condemning Israel. "While you clearly are not at a loss for words when it comes to criticizing and denouncing Israel, a member state of the United Nations, you seen unable to muster an equally strong voice to denounce the daily firing by the terrorist organization Hizbullah of hundreds of rockets into Israel specifically aimed at and intended to kill and maim civilians," ADL leaders said in the letter to Annan. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan accused Israel of deliberately targeting UN positions in Lebanon after four UN soldiers were killed when a bomb destroyed their outpost. It was later revealed Hizbullah were carrying out attacks from with the compound at the time of the bombing while UN soldiers could only look on. Kofi Annan later ordered the evacuation of soldiers operating in UN outposts, but only several days after above the incident occurred. He accused Israel of acting with "disproportionate force" and indiscriminately targeting civilians during the attack on Qana, claiming Israel was guilty of a "pattern of violations of international law", yet made no mention of Hizbullah atrocities. Kofi Annan also publicly doubted the IDF's version of events of the Gaza beach incident, during which a family was blown to pieces by a possible Palestinian landmine. Not because of any new evidence that had been uncovered, but his own opinion was that Palestinian terrorist groups would not be so callous as to plant a landmine on a beach frequented by their own people. Sadly he's not the only one that is living in cloud-cuckoo land. Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja has criticized Israel over the civilian deaths in the conflict. He says the number of civilians killed now stands at a whopping 98% of all deaths recorded. In other words, out of 1000 Lebanese that have lost their lives in the conflict, only 20 are Hizbullah fighters. Quote: "Remarking on the conflict, the Finnish foreign minister and current head of the EU, Erkki Tuomioja, said the fact that most of the victims in Lebanon are civilians indicates a change in the nature of warfare. "Whereas in the First World War, 90 percent of those killed were in uniform, and 10 percent were civilians, in the Second World War the proportion was 50/50. In the Vietnam War, 90 percent of the victims were civilians. In Lebanon, it is already 98 percent," he told Helsinki daily Helsingin Sanomat. Now that is ridiculous. This despite Israel claiming within the last few weeks to have killed at least 400 Hizbullah fighters. What about the victims in Israel? What about the fact this war is being waged by Hizbullah from highly populated areas in Lebanon, in complete disregard for civilians? What about the fact that Hizbullah fighters disguise themselves as civilians, and use them as human shields to prevent IDF attacks? (This photo to the right is an example of a Palestinian terrorist from Gaza, firing at IDF troops, while surrounded by at least eight human shields). Yet our friend Kofi Annan condemns Israel for the killing of civilians in Gaza? Quote: "On Wednesday Mr Annan expressed fears that the war in Lebanon and northern Israel could overshadow events in Gaza and "the urgent need to work towards a solution to the current crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory". "The continued killing and injuring of hundreds of civilians, including children, in Gaza, by Israeli forces is utterly unjustifiable," spokesman Stephane Dujarric added. Wars and rumours of wars UK police foil plot to blow up planes 10/8/06 |
UK Home Secretary John Reid stated this week that Britain was facing its biggest
threat since the Second World War. The British government had recently
adopted an US style system for assessing the threat level by terrorist
forces. That level now stands at the highest level, "critical",
which means MI5 believe that an attack is imminent.
Quote: "The Home Secretary will say that the end of the Cold War has been accompanied by the "reach and impact" of organised crime and international terrorism. He is expected to say: "We are probably in the most sustained period of severe threat since the end of World War II. "While I am confident that the Security Services and Police will deliver 100% effort and 100% dedication, they cannot guarantee 100% success. "Our security forces and the apparatus of the state provide a very necessary condition for defeating terrorism but can never be sufficient to do so on their own. Our common security will only be assured by a common effort from all sections of society." And apparently that threat has now manifested itself. The Metropolitan Police have arrested around 20 people who were planning a major terrorist operation, in which UK and US planes would be blown out of the sky using bombs carried onboard hand luggage. Airports have been instructed to prohibit virtually all hand luggage, with essentials having to be carried in transparent plastic bags. Quote: ""A major terrorist plot to allegedly blow up aircraft in mid-flight has been disrupted in a joint, pre-planned, intelligence-led operation by the metropolitan police anti-terrorist branch and security services," a police spokesman said. He said police believes that the intention was particularly to target flights from Britain to the United States. Police had arrested an unspecified number of people in London during the night. He gave no further details. No mention was made by the police of where the threat came from, or which group those arrested belong to. The terrorist threat has also now been raised in the US. This news comes as the FBI is already searching for 11 missing Egyptians that entered the US on a student transfer scheme. Quote: ""The FBI remains extremely interested in interviewing," the other missing Egyptian students, said Paul McCabe, a spokesman for the FBI in Minneapolis. The missing students pose no terrorism threat, the agency said. Authorities began searching for the 11 Egyptian students after they arrived in the United States last month, but failed to show up for an exchange program at Montana State University. |

Peace agreement "Mister EU" plans to visit Middle East this week 9/8/06 |
The High Representative for the European Foreign, Common and Security
Policy, Javier
Solana, is planning to head to the Middle East some time this week, to
help find a solution to the escalating conflict. He will have his work cut
out for him, as so far the UN efforts have failed to end the fighting.
Syria, Iran and Lebanon all rejected the UN's resolution out of hand, for
supposedly failing to meet Hizbullah's needs, which is the stipulation that
Israeli troops leave Lebanese soil, and that thousands of Hizbullah
terrorists currently incarcerated in Israeli jails are released in exchange
for the two captured IDF soldiers. The Lebanese Prime Minister did offer to
send in 15,000 Lebanese soldiers to secure the southern border as Israel
withdraws, but with previous statements of support for Hizbullah by the
Lebanese premier, I believe that is a recipe for disaster.
Quote: "EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana plans to visit the Middle East later this week to discuss efforts to stop the fighting there, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday. Solana's itinerary was still being worked out, but he was expected to hold talks with leaders in the region, said the spokeswoman, who did not want to be identified by name. In the opening days of the conflict in Lebanon, Jacque Chirac had called on Javier Solana to find a permanent, lasting peace settlement for the entire Middle East region. The letter from French President Jacque Chirac to the Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen called for a stronger leading role by Javier Solana, and that he should "find the necessary interlocutors and very swiftly contribute to proposals with the aim of gathering conditions for a broad and lasting ceasefire in the region." There was an apparent split in the European Union over that letter, with some countries wanting to press their own line of foreign policy (UK-US), rather than be spoken for by the union. But French politicians are keen to promote Javier Solana's role in the Middle East, saying his role should be "Mister EU" for the Middle East and remove duplicity in Europe's foreign affairs. Quote: "French diplomats explained that Mr Chirac's letter had been designed to "encourage" Mr Solana to be "Mister EU" in the region, amid complaints by parties in the Middle East that they have had to receive a plethora of diplomats from different EU presidencies, different member states as well as the European Commission. And it looks like Javier Solana's role as the "single voice of Europe" in the Middle East and the wider world, will be pushed to the hilt by the current EU presidency. The Finnish Foreign Minister, Erkki Tuomioja, slammed EU state governments today for apparent foreign policy leaks, hindering the Europe's influence in the Middle East. He also accused member states for acting in national interests (i.e. the UK supporting Israel in the current conflict and labelling Hizbullah as a terrorist organization), rather than assimilating Europe's position, which takes a more liberal stance. Quote: "Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, wrote in an opinion piece that the leaks are hampering the 25-member bloc's ability to act as a united force in global politics. "It has long been known that all EU documents that deal with the Middle East also are known in Tel Aviv within an hour after having been distributed to the member states, and probably also in Washington and Moscow," Tuomioja wrote in the Helsinki newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet. Lies and rumours of lies New York Times reporter staged Lebanon photo 9/8/06 |
They're
calling it the photograph of a "dead
man walking". Israeli strikes demolished a building in the Lebanese
town of Tyre, burying dozens of people under the rubble. Tyler Hicks of the
New York Times happened to have his camera on hand as this poor man was being dragged from the rubble. The building had collapsed on him while
he slept. Remarkably this young man's body was not caked in the thick layer
of concrete dust resulting from the collapse of the building, nor did he receive any noticeable
injuries. His sweat glimmers in the heat of the day, his left leg muscles
are flexed, and his "lifeless body" still clutches onto his favourite green
cap, tucked under his left arm. The caption of the above image read, "The mayor of Tyre said that in the worst hit areas, bodies
were still buried under the rubble, and he appealed to the Israelis to allow
government authorities time to pull them out. (Photo Tyler Hicks The New
York Times)
The second photograph's caption states, "Tuesday night's strike, which wounded 12 people, had been the third in that part of Tyre". But our dead friend in the above photograph has suddenly made a miraculous recovery. Donning his infamous green cap, he is now able to aid the rescue workers to help pull more of his "dead" friends from the rubble of this Hizbullah stronghold. And all courtesy of the New York Times. Wars and rumours of wars Iranian Ayatollah urges Islam to fight Israel 8/8/06 |
Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah al Khameini has sounded out the Islamic battle cry,
urging all Muslim states in the Middle East to come to Lebanon's aid in its
struggle against Israel. And that's a call Iranian President Ahmadinejad is only
too keen to take up.
Quote: "Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on "all Islamic communities to assist Hizbullah in its struggle against Israel," according to official Iranian television. "The entire Islamic community must defend Hizbullah," Khamenei said in a meeting with worshippers. Earlier in the week, Prime Minister Olmert had stated in an address to the nation that virtually everyone in Israel believed they were fighting a proxy war with Iran and Syria, not Hizbullah. Both Iran and Syria have been busy re-supplying the terrorist organization with long range missiles, while other Islamic groups operating out of Iran have claimed they have sent busloads of guerrilla fighters to attack IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon. Over 120 rockets rained down on Israel today, as Prime Minister Olmert promised to transport hundreds of Israelis, stranded in Galilee, further south to escape the onslaught. But according to Tom Ricks of the Washington Post, Prime Minister Olmert may as well be firing those rockets at his own people. While being interviewed on CNN, Tom Ricks stated that Israel has purposely left some missile launching pads intact, in order to justify a prolonged war against Hizbullah. Quote: "Tom Ricks, military reporter for the Washington Post, accused Israel Tuesday of intentionally failing to destroy a number of rocket launchers in south Lebanon, to maintain a moral defense to its striking civilian of targets in Lebanon. Ricks, who was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in journalism and recently published his new book "Fiasco" on the failure of the American war in Iraq, made the comments during an interview on CNN. Ricks, who was hosted on the Howard Kurtz's weekly media review show on the CNN news network, said: "Civilian casualties are also part of the battlefield play for both sides here. One of the things that is going on, according to some US military analysts, is that Israel purposely has left pockets of Hizbullah rockets in Lebanon, because as long as they're being rocketed, they can continue to have a sort of moral equivalency in their operations in Lebanon." Unbelievable. Who needs the Hizbullah media relations department, when you've got the Washington Post? |

Days of Noah Israelis suspected of killing brother in Sydney 8/8/06 |
This update from my friend Louis...
I reported a few days ago on the increase on anti-Semitic attacks around the world as a result of the conflict in Lebanon and Israel. Quote: "Only a few days prior to the murder a brick was thrown through the window of the rabbi's home adjacent to the Parramatta synagogue in another area of Sydney, and there was also an arson attempt on a Jewish youth center in Bondi. There have been large-scale anti-Israel demonstrations in Sydney, with calls for Israel to withdraw from Lebanon and from Palestinian territories. Security surrounding all Jewish institutions in Sydney has been intensified over the past few weeks. While this is most certainly the case, the attack on the Israeli man stabbed to death in Sydney, Australia earlier in the week may not have been motivated by anti-Semitism. Two brothers of Mr Guelman, who was beaten with a metal pole and stabbed to death, have been charged with his murder. Source Jerusalem Post, Sydney Morning Herald |

Lies and rumours of lies Lebanese PM "revises" Houla death toll 7/8/06 |
It's either a complete miracle, or yet another piece of
propaganda that has backfired in the face of Hizbullah and the
international news organizations. The Lebanese Prime Minister convened a
meeting in Beirut earlier this morning with several of his Arab
counterparts. During the convention, Prime Minister Siniora struggled to
hold back the tears, while urging his compadres to join the fight against
Israel and help end this "Lebanese holocaust". At the
meeting he briefed journalists on the latest Israeli "massacre", that wiped
out some forty Lebanese civilians in the village of Houla. It later turned
out just one person died.
Quote: "Earlier, Mr Siniora broke down in tears as he told Arab leaders meeting that a "horrific massacre" had taken place in Houla village. He later backtracked on the death toll, telling a news conference that only one person had died. One resident quoted by Reuters news agency said about 50 people had been found alive under the rubble. But as some other blogs have noted, Lebanese death toll estimates work somewhat differently to the rest of the world. 1) If Israel is involved in the "massacre", assume the maximum
number of people within the vicinity were instantly killed. Quote: ""They thought that the whole building smashed on the heads of 40 people," Fouad Siniora told reporters in Beirut. "Thank Allah that they have been saved." Miracle? Or can we assume the IAF are doing a relatively good job of ensuring civilians are not caught up in the fighting - unlike Hizbullah, whom the Lebanese Prime Minister actively supports. Source BBC |

Lies and rumours of lies Reuters recalls more manipulated photos 7/8/06 |
In an unprecedented move, news organization Reuters has decided to retract
all of Adnan Hajj's photographs, after it was revealed more of his images
from the Israel-Hizbullah war had been manipulated. Reuters stated this was
a "precautionary measure", but I would say "damage
limitation" sounds more plausible. Reuters' Global Picture Editor Tom
Szlukovenyi has issued a statement on the latest revelations.
Quote: ""Manipulating photographs in this way is entirely unacceptable and contrary to all the principles consistently held by Reuters throughout its long and distinguished history. It undermines not only our reputation but also the good name of all our photographers," Szlukovenyi said. "This doesn't mean that every one of his 920 photographs in our database was altered. We know that not to be the case from the majority of images we have looked at so far but we need to act swiftly and in a precautionary manner." The two altered photographs were among 43 that Hajj filed directly to the Reuters Global Pictures Desk since the start of the conflict on July 12 rather than through an editor in Beirut, as was the case with the great majority of his images. Filing drills have been tightened in Lebanon and only senior staff will now edit pictures from the Middle East on the Global Pictures Desk, with the final check undertaken by the Editor-in-Charge, Reuters said. Meanwhile, new revelations from Lebanon are coming thick and fast. An image this time from the Associated Press, depicts a panic stricken Muslim women bewailing the loss of her home, after an IAF strike supposedly demolished a tower block in Beirut on July 22nd. The caption reads, "A Lebanese woman wails after looking at the wreckage of her apartment, in a building, that was demolished by the Israeli attacks in southern Beirut July 22, 2006. REUTERS/Issam Kobeisi (from Yahoo News) A few weeks later another image, this time from Reuters, shows the same woman once again running through streets of rubble bewailing the destruction of her home which supposedly occurred on August 5th. This time the caption reads, "A Lebanese woman reacts at the destruction after she came to inspect her house in the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, after Israeli warplanes repeatedly bombed the area overnight. (AP Photo/Hussein Malla) (from Yahoo News)" And Hussein Malla isn't the only one to pull the old "recently demolished building" trick. More images from Reuter's ex-journalist Adnan Hajj are revealing what appears to be a recurring trend. For this picture, the caption read, "Journalists are shown by a Hizbullah guerrilla group the damage caused by Israeli attacks on a Hizbullah stronghold in southern Beirut, July 24 2006. (Adnan Hajj/Reuters)". A few weeks later, the same scene was published with a different caption. This time, the caption read, ""A Lebanese woman looks at the sky as she walks past a building flattened during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beirut's suburbs August 5, 2006. (Adnan Hajj/Reuters)". The reporters could have easily checked their archives to see exactly when this building was destroyed. They didn't. None of these images have been manipulated by Photoshop, but the "facts" they supposedly represent have been manipulated by journalists who are willing to portray Israel as the aggressor rather than portray the truth. This is not journalism, it's just plain old lies. Source Reuters, Drinking From Home, Power Line |

Wars and rumours of wars Siniora slams Israel for "Lebanese holocaust" 7/8/06 |
The UN Security Council finally reached a consensus on how to end the
fighting in Lebanon yesterday. France and the United States had been at
loggerheads on whether there should be an immediate cease fire or whether
Israel should be permitted to defend itself in the event Hizbullah continues
the daily rocket attacks on Israel. But even before the UN resolution could
been adopted Lebanon rejected
it, demanding that Israel withdraw all forces from the country as soon as
the fighting ends, rather than when the international peacekeeping force
takes over. Lebanon is also calling for thousands of Hizbullah terrorists in
Israeli jails to be released as part of any peace deal. As Lebanese Prime
Minister Siniora addressed his Arab counterparts in Beirut today, he slammed
the Israeli "occupation"
of Lebanon, and urged his Arab "brothers", who had experienced
"occupation" forces in Palestine and Iraq, to come to his
aid.
Quote: "Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora opened Monday afternoon the summit of Arab foreign ministers in Beirut by calling on Arab countries to unite and influence the UN Security Council. "This is the 26th day of the Lebanese holocaust. Israel is committing state-fund terror," he stated, stressing that Lebanon's aim was to reach an immediate ceasefire based on the "Seven Points Plan." "We need to consolidate a unified Arab stance and push for a different Security Council resolution," he said. Siniora's backers, Iran and Syria also slammed the resolution... Quote: "Iran described a draft UN Security Council resolution aimed at ending the Israeli-Hizbullah fighting as a new offensive against Lebanon. "The proposed resolution is another operation against the Lebanese nation," Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki It seems calling for Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon - once again, is the only way Iran, Syria and Hizbullah can claim the victory in this war with Israel. And unless the European Union can guarantee Israel's security after IDF forces withdraw, I doubt anyone in Israel or the United States could stomach a Hizbullah victory in southern Lebanon. Because of that, I believe this war will continue to grow worse, until the EU is finally forced to act, and deploy forces on the borders of Lebanon, Syria and Israel to guarantee a regional "covenant of peace" can be implemented. |

Lies and rumours of lies More photos doctored by Reuters 7/8/06 |
The
caption reads, "An Israeli F-16 warplane fires missiles during an
air strike on Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon, August 2, 2006. (LEBANON)".
The image was wired to Reuters by Adnan Hajj, the same journalist
responsible for the images of Qana and who was suspended by the news
organization yesterday for doctoring the previous image of Beirut after an IAF strike
levelled most of the city (with the aid of the Photoshop clone tool).
But it seems Adnan has been busy with his Photoshop again. Apparently once again the truth is an inconvenience to Reuters. The F-16 in the above photograph is not firing missiles at all, but dropping bombs, unless these too are figments of Adnan's vivid imagination. Missiles generally travel much faster than aircraft unlike the ones in this picture, and the smoke trails are actually from flares which have been fired by the pilot to divert any inbound rockets that could be launched from Hizbullah positions on the ground. The three smoke trails are completely identical, so only one flare had actually been released by the aircraft. The rest were added to bolster the view that this Israeli response to Hizbullah is "disproportionate". Source The Jawa Report |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran bought Uranium from Congo mine 6/8/06 |
Not content on defying the international community by continuing to enrich
Uranium, Iran has been seeking to acquire
the substance from the Congo to speed up their efforts to build a nuclear
device. Last year customs officials at Tanzania stopped a shipment that was
bound for Iran, after a routine scan of the container with Geiger counters
revealed a lot of radioactivity. The container was meant to be carrying
coltan, a mineral used for making mobile phone chips, but customs officials
discovered barrels of Uranium concealed at the back. Uranium from the Congo
was used to produce the atomic bombs that fell on Nagasaki and Hiroshima
during the Second World War.
Quote: "A United Nations report, dated July 18, said there was “no doubt” that a huge shipment of smuggled uranium 238, uncovered by customs officials in Tanzania, was transported from the Lubumbashi mines in the Congo. Tanzanian customs officials told The Sunday Times it was destined for the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, and was stopped on October 22 last year during a routine check. Meanwhile, the latest UN resolution threatening sanctions against Iran if it continues on its path to nuclear capability, has only emboldened the government's determination to press ahead with their nuclear programme. Iran's nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, has stated that Iran plans to expand its Uranium enrichment programme, rather than halt it as requested by the United Nations Security Council, and blasted the UN resolution claiming it contradicted Javier Solana's package of incentives that was offered on 06/06/06. Quote: "Ali Larijani called the UN Security Council resolution issued last week illegal and said Iran won't respect the deadline. "We reject this resolution," he told reporters. "We will expand nuclear activities where required. It includes all nuclear technology including the string of centrifuges," Larijani said, referring to the centrifuges Iran uses to enrich uranium. Lies and rumours of lies Reuters retracts manipulated photo of Lebanon 6/8/06 |
I
wrote an article just a few days ago about how Hizbullah wants to exaggerate
the impact of Israeli bombing in Lebanon for propaganda purposes, and how
the news media are competing for the most dramatic pictures. As a result of
their efforts, the truth has become a casualty in this Middle East war.
Still photographs of Qana and Lebanon don't present all the facts, just some of them,
and these selective facts are being used to polarize public opinion against
Israel. For the photographers who brought you the images of Qana "as it
happened", it seems the
truth is no longer dramatic enough. Reuters staff doctored an image taken of Beirut
after the IAF fired missiles at Hizbullah strongholds in the city. Using
photo-editing software, Reuters added extra smoke to make it look like more
damage had been done by the Israeli attack than was actually the case. Reuters
has since retracted the image, issuing an apology to editors stating, "the
image was distorted", and that "photo editing software was
improperly used on this image".
Quote: "Earlier, Charles Johnson, of the Little Green Footballs blog , which has exposed a previous attempt at fraud by a major American news corporation, wrote : "This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop “clone” tool to add more smoke to the image." Johnson added: "Smoke simply does not contain repeating symmetrical patterns like this, and you can see the repetition in both plumes of smoke. There’s really no question about it." A series of close ups are then posted on the blog, showing that "it’s not only the plumes of smoke that were 'enhanced.' There are also cloned buildings." The close ups do appear to show exact replicas of buildings appearing next to one another in the photograph. The only reason why the image was retracted is because they didn't get away with it. American bloggers spotted the blatant manipulation, and kicked up a fuss forcing the news organization to act. And photos aren't the only thing that are being manipulated by outlets like Reuters. Even if the only reason Reuters edited the photo was to get more newspapers to carry their image, public opinion is being manipulated and that translates into more anti-Semitic attacks around the world like this one, in which an Israeli was stabbed to death, once again in Sydney, Australia. Quote: "Police were called to the shop at the intersection of Glenayr Avenue and Beach Road at Bondi Beach about 9.45pm (AEST) yesterday. Outside the store, a man with multiple stab wounds was slumped on the footpath. He was treated at the scene and taken to St Vincent's Hospital for emergency surgery but died several hours later. Mr Alhadeff said members of the Jewish community called him last night with details of the incident. "Word came back to us last night from people in the area who saw it and found out that the man was an Israeli," he told AAP. "There was a car load of people who stopped and they got out and they assaulted him pretty brutally and some of them were hitting him with a pole or something and there was multiple stabs." He said the incident did appear to be related to the conflict in Lebanon. Source YNet News, The Australian |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran supplied Hizbullah with long range missiles 5/8/06 |
Iran has openly admitted to supplying Hizbullah with long range Zelzal
2 missiles, which are capable of striking Tel Aviv. According to Mohtashami
Pur of the Intifada conference, the missiles were transferred to
Hizbullah to help the terrorist organization attack Israel. But the missiles
have not yet been fired against Israel, and military analysts believe Ayatollah
al Khameini, Iran's supreme leader, must give the word before they can be
used. Yesterday, Hizbullah missiles struck the town of Hadera, some 50 miles
from the Lebanese border.
Quote: "According to the defense establishment, the reason Hizbullah has not fired long-range Iranian-made Fajr missiles at Israel is due to Teheran's opposition. Israel now understands that without direct orders from the ayatollahs, Hizbullah is not allowed to use Iranian missiles in attacks against Israel. The IDF also believes that it seriously damaged the long-range rocket array in the first night of air strikes almost three weeks ago and impaired Hizbullah's ability to fire the rockets. Meanwhile British Prime Minister Tony Blair, during his visit to the US, slammed what he called "reactionary Islam", accusing terrorist organizations of deliberately provoking an Israeli retaliation, and criticized the West for then condemning Israel's response to the aggression. Quote: ""Reactionary Islam seized the opportunity, first in Gaza, then in Lebanon ... [knowing] that their terrorism would provoke massive retaliation by Israel. Within days, the world would forget the original provocation and be shocked by the retaliation." When it comes to situations like this, and the London bombing which Islamic terror groups stated was carried out because of the UK's support for Israel, despite the Prime Minister's failings here in Northern Ireland and in other areas, I must praise him for this stand for Israel and refusal to bow the knee to Islamic terrorism. And they're still fighting the UK for our support for Israel. Quote: "About 100 demonstrators threw stones and firebombs at the British Embassy in Teheran on Friday, damaging the building but harming nobody as they accused Britain and the United States of being accomplices in Israel's fight against Hizbullah. Demonstrators also smashed some of the building's windows as they called for its closure and the expulsion of the British ambassador. What these Islamic "fundamentalists" need to realize is what Hitler and every other enemy of God's people should have realized long ago. When the Third Reich, and Iran, and Syria and every other nation that persecutes the Jews (including my own) are come and gone, Israel will still be here, for God cannot break His promise. Wars and rumours of wars Iran to supply Hizbullah with SAMs 4/8/06 |
Israeli police have reported a Syrian made missile, dubbed the 302, was used
for the first time in the conflict yesterday. It is a short range missile
capable of carrying a large 100kg warhead, which will cause far more damage
than Hizbullah's Katyusha rockets. Nevertheless, the constant barrage of
Katyusha rockets is still killing civilians in northern Israel. A Druze
woman, and two other Israeli Arabs were killed
today and dozens were wounded, when Hizbullah rockets landed in Galilee. IAF
strikes also killed around 33
farmers, apparently loading their trucks with produce near the Syrian
border. Israel had previously distributed leaflets warning truck drivers
near the borders that they would automatically come under suspicion of
transporting weapons to Hizbullah, due to the number of Hizbullah convoys
that have been disguised as civilian vehicles. Whether these trucks were
transporting weapons or not, I don't know, but the attack is sure to deal
another blow to Israel's public relations in the war against Hizbullah. It
is understandable why Israeli pilots are so relentless in their pursuit of
Hizbullah weapon smuggling, for every terrorist missile that gets past the
IAF could mean more innocent lives taken in Israel. And they have more than
just Syria to worry about now. Jane's Defence is reporting that Iran has
agreed to supply Hizbullah with SAM
missiles, for use against IAF aircraft operating in Lebanon.
Quote: "In a meeting, held late last month, the Lebanese Shiite Muslim militia called on Tehran to "accelerate and extend the scope of weapon shipments from Iran to the Islamic Resistance, particularly advanced missiles against ground and air targets." Hizbullah's representatives pressed for "an array of more advanced weaponry, including more advanced SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems," Jane's said. "Iranian authorities conveyed a message to the Hezbollah leadership that their forces would continue to receive a steady supply of weapons systems," it added. "The details coming from the meeting reveal that they are about ensuring a constant supply of weapons to support Islamic Resistance operations against Israel," said Robin Hughes, the magazine's Middle East Editor. "We are told the latest meeting was attended by senior representatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' Qods (Jerusalem) force which is responsible for training and logistic support for Iranian-backed insurgent groups." It seems Israel has made very little impact on the number of rockets being launched against Israel on a daily basis. And to now face the threat of advanced Russian Surface to Air Missiles, I'm starting to wonder where this war is going. Israel has stated it has no intention of starting a war with Syria, but President Ahmadinejad is doing everything he can to ensure that this conflict with Hizbullah is broadened into a regional war, diverting attention from Iran's nuclear programme. And you can bet with media coverage slanted against Israel, they will get the blame for the escalation and not Iran. Source YNet News, YNet News, The Australian |

Wars and rumours of wars Egyptian judges get ants in their pants 4/8/06 |
Islamic anger at Israeli is continuing to blossom worldwide as the fighting
continues in Lebanon for a fourth week. It is true I guess, that while the
IDF and IAF have done a good job in eliminating Hizbullah forces in Lebanon,
they seem to have ignored growing anti-Israel sentiment in the rest of the
world. Defence Minister Peretz should be making his voice heard in the
public arena, explaining why we need this war and what the end game is. With
the world media constantly focusing on what's happening in Lebanon and
virtually ignoring Israel, and death tolls being skewed by Hizbullah
propaganda, Israel may win the war but could face an Islamic backlash.
Instead of countries like Iran and Syria being isolated by the international
community, they have now got most of the Muslim world rooting for them. And
that seems to be what is happening in several Arab nations now. I don't know
what sort of judicial system Egypt has, but judges in that nation are now
warning the government to scrap its peace
agreement with Israel as long as the IDF continues to operate in
Lebanon...
Quote: "Judges in Egypt called upon the government to dissolve its peace agreement with Israel, on the grounds that it is inconceivable for Egypt to coexist peaceably with Israel while the IDF operates in Lebanon. The judges expressed support of popular resistance against Israeli advances, which, in their eyes, is the only way to protect the Arab ummah (greater nation). In a statement issued Thursday, Egyptian judges censured "the barbaric Israeli attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese people." They also warned of American attempts "to rearrange the Middle East, based on the 'Greater Middle East' plan, via Israeli pride and American hegemony, in whose eyes the lives of hundreds of Arab children are not worth the wounds of one Israeli child." Meanwhile, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has recalled his nation's ambassador to Israel in protest of the ongoing operation in Lebanon. The President called the Israeli offensive a "fascist outrage", and claimed Israel was guilty of genocide. Quote: ""We have ordered the withdrawal of our ambassador in Israel," Chavez said Thursday in a televised speech, calling Israeli attacks in Lebanon "genocide." "It really causes indignation to see how the state of Israel continues bombing, killing ... with gringo planes, with all of the power they have, with the support of the United States — so many innocents, children, women," Chavez said after a military parade in the northwestern state of Falcon. And Lebanese President Lahoud, who you would think would be most grateful for Israeli help in removing Hizbullah from his country, has once again slammed Israel as an enemy aggressor, and claimed that Israel is waging a "war of starvation" against it. Quote: ""The Israeli enemy's bombing of bridges and roads is aimed at tightening the blockade on the Lebanese, cutting communications between them and starving them," Lahoud said... "Today's air raids confirm that Israel is trying to compensate for the losses of its army in the south... by cutting off the only coastal highway remaining to transport aid to displaced people and refugees and supply the country with oil products, foodstuffs and aid," Lahoud said. "It is a war of starvation launched by Israel against Lebanon," he said. "It is an aggression that has exceeded Israel's declared objectives. Israel has now decided to destroy Lebanon." With open Lebanese Presidential and Prime Ministerial support for Hizbullah, I can't see there will ever be a chance for peace in the Middle East without an international or European peacekeeping force installed in the region, and even that peace is prophesied to fail. Wars and rumours of wars Indonesia sends suicide army against Jewish targets 4/8/06 |
One man and his family were beat up and spat upon at a Turkish market last
month, after a group of Muslims enquired whether he was an Israeli. A concrete block was hurled through
the glass doors of an synagogue in Sydney. A Molotov cocktail was thrown at
the doors of the Baltimore Hebrew University. And all this has occurred since the
conflict started between Israel and Hizbullah in Lebanon. Some Jewish leaders are blaming
the mainstream media for encouraging the attacks, due to their slanted
coverage of the war. But things look to get worse, not better, as an Islamic
group based in Indonesia has claimed to have dispatched around 200
suicide bombers to attack Jewish targets worldwide. Australian
politicians are taking the threat extremely seriously.
Quote: "More than 200 Southeast Asian suicide bombers have been dispatched around the world with a mission to attack Jewish interests in countries that support Israel, one of the leading Australian newspapers quoted a radical Jakarta-based organization as saying Friday. These countries include Britain, the United States and possibly Australia, said the daily The Australian. The newspaper said Asian Muslim Youth Movement (AMYM), a radical Jakarta-based organization, gave it details of the plot Thursday. The AMYM claimed it was being funded in part with cash donations from two unnamed Australian-Indonesian businessmen. Suaib Bidu, leader of the organization, warned that thousands more jihadis were preparing to join the resistance against Israel and die as "martyrs." I can't help but remember the controversy over the "Qur'an in the toilet" story or the Mohammed cartoons. Both stories were blown completely out of proportion by the mainstream media, inflaming the Muslim world and resulting in the deaths of dozens of people. The story about the desecration of the Qur'an was later found to be fabricated. A newspaper in Egypt published cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed as a suicide bomber months before European states did, and Islamic countries have been publishing cartoons about the Jews and the holocaust for decades. So once again we may have the liberal media to thank, if any deaths result from this Islamic suicide army. Source People's Daily |

Wars and rumours of wars Iran sends bin Laden's son to Lebanon 3/8/06 |
This link from my friend Dan...
You could say Iran has let loose the dogs of war... The "dog" being Osama bin Laden's son, Saad bin Laden. Saad was under house arrest, apparently being held by the Iranian regime for use as a "bargaining chip" with the West. Al Qaeda mainly consists of Sunni Muslims, while Iran is predominantly Shi'ite. Both factions of Islam don't mix well together, but are united by their equal hatred of the "Zionist entity". That's why Iran is sending Saad bin Laden to Lebanon, to train and equip terrorist cells to resist the Israeli "occupation" of Lebanon. Quote: "Die Welt said the Iranian Revolutionary Guard released Saad bin Laden on July 28 with the aim of sending him to the Syria-Lebanon border. It linked the reported move to the outbreak of war between Israel and Lebanese-based Hizbullah. "From the Lebanese border, he has the task of building Islamist terror cells and preparing them to fight together with Hizbullah," Die Welt said, quoting intelligence information. "Apparently Tehran is counting on recruiting Lebanese refugees in Syria for the fight against Israel, using bin Laden's help," it added in a preview of a report to appear in its Thursday edition. That's not good news for Israeli Defence Minister Peretz, who had previously stated he did not want to "sink in the Lebanese swamp". Eight people were killed today as rockets continued to rain down on Israeli towns. So far 2300 rockets have landed in Israel, and yesterday Hizbullah started firing rockets during the night for the first time. The only reason why Israeli casualties remain considerably low is because most of the population in the north of the country have fled their homes or practically live in air raid shelters. That's something that's not being reported in the mainstream press. Quote: "Israel Police and Magen David Adom emergency services reported that four people, including a man and his daughter, were killed in Akko after they left their shelter following the first barrage. Three farmers were killed in the Maalot-Tarshiha area while lying on the ground. The heavy barrage began shortly after 4 p.m. and continued until the evening hours. Some 160 rockets were fired at Israel on Thursday; 40-50 were fired during the deadly afternoon barrage. Israeli Prime Minister Olmert has said he will not halt the attacks on Hizbullah until the rockets stop, and Hizbullah have said they will not stop the rockets while IDF troops are in Lebanon. So Israel is in a dilemma. There is no clear way of finishing the war with Hizbullah, not with the backing of Iran. King Abdullah II of Jordan warned several months ago that it was imperative that the peace process continued in the Middle East, otherwise fighting would continue there for another 10 years. Clearly the EU must act fast in deploying their peacekeeping force, both to halt the current fighting and to prevent Iran and Syria from getting in first, and widening the conflict into a regional war. |

Wars and rumours of wars Ahmadinejad: Conflict solution - destroy Israel 3/8/06 |
The Muslim world held a conference today on the escalating crisis in the
Middle East, just 24 hours after the EU issued a statement calling for an "immediate
cessation of hostilities" by both Hizbullah and Israel in Lebanon.
Muslim state leaders convened for the Organization Islamic Conference
(OIC)
which is being held in Malaysia, the world's most populous Islamic state.
President Ahmadinejad was in attendance along with ministers from 18 other
nations, including Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan. But it's President
Ahmadinejad's remarks that are making the headlines once again, touting the
destruction of Israel as the main solution to the Middle East conflict. Ahmadinejad
also slammed the US and UK for their support of Israel, and urged all
Islamic nations to cut
ties with the Jewish state.
Quote: "In a speech during an emergency meeting of Muslim leaders in Malaysia, Ahmadinejad also called for an immediate ceasefire to end the fighting between Israel and the Iranian-back group Hizbullah. "Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate ceasefire must be implemented," Ahmadinejad said, according to state-run television in a report posted on its Web site. British Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed shock at the President's comments calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map". Quote: "In a press conference early Thursday afternoon, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said that he finds it astounding that President Ahmadinejad has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" as a solution to the Middle East's problems. "If someone else were to call for Iran or Syria to be wiped off the map, people would be tearing the house down!" he added. But what is sending alarm bells ringing in my ears, is the BBC's coverage of this Islamic conference. All three news agencies, YNet News, Reuters and the BBC used the same photograph, showing Iranian President Ahmadinejad shaking hands with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Yet the BBC failed to mention anything about the Iranian President's speech on Israel, instead preferring to broadcast more "moderate" Islamic voices denouncing Israel and the West for crimes against Muslims. Quote: "The OIC's Secretary General, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, said the Islamic world is "outraged" over international "double standards" on the Israeli offensive in Lebanon. "I am afraid that the anger of the Muslim masses is being transformed into permanent hatred against the aggressors and their implicit and explicit protectors," he said. For those who don't realize, that is a veiled threat. If the West does not end their support of Israel so Iran and Syria can destroy the "Zionist" regime, Islamic terrorists will make it very uncomfortable for the "aggressors" (Israel) and their "protectors" (US, UK and all of us). Peace process EU calls for end to hostilities 2/8/06 |
High
Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, Javier
Solana, met with EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner
and Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja yesterday, along with foreign
ministers from the 25 European Union states to discuss the ongoing conflict
in the Middle East. Yesterday Hizbullah also launched the largest number of
rockets in a single day since the fighting began. Over 230 rockets landed in
Israel, killing one man and wounding dozens. As a result of the convention,
the European Union has released a statement
calling for "an immediate cessation of hostilities followed by a
sustainable ceasefire". Several states, including the UK and
Germany, objected to the original draft of the document which called for an "immediate
ceasefire", a request which would most likely go unheeded by
Hizbullah and result in the terrorist organization proclaiming a victory
for its Islamic Jihad against Israel. The statement issued by the Council
has given Javier Solana the responsibility of working towards a "peace
plan for the Middle East", in accordance with Daniel's prophecy.
Quote: ""The EU is committed to promote a comprehensive peace plan for the Middle East in close cooperation with partners and the countries in the region. There is no military solution to any of the problems facing the people of the region. The Council asked the High Representative to remain engaged and to remain in contact with all the relevant parties and to be ready to contribute to a political solution and to the peace process." Daniel 9:27 Meanwhile, it seems former British Foreign Minister, Jack Straw, wants his old job back. The Leader of the House of Commons appeared on Channel 4 news on Saturday, calling Israel's response to Hizbullah, "disproportionate", apparently at the request of none other than Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary General. I thought this man, who stated Hamas did not have to recognize Israel's right to exist, got "reshuffled" several months ago? I can't help wondering what sort of response he would make against a terrorist organization that launched well over 1500 rockets at British towns, forcing the evacuation of around half a million people. Quote: "Jack Straw, leader of the House of Commons and the former foreign secretary, took the highly unusual step of speaking out publicly against Israel's operations Saturday, describing the offensive as "disproportionate." According to Channel 4 News, he made the stand following a call from United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who beseeched him to help "in prizing Tony Blair apart from George Bush." Annan telephoned Straw just hours after Israeli strikes killed four U.N. peacekeepers Wednesday, reportedly "distraught" at Blair's decision to side with the United States in refusing to call for an immediate cease-fire. |

Signs in the sun Killer heat waves on the increase 2/8/06 |
Heat waves across Europe and America last month resulted in record breaking
temperatures and hundreds of deaths. A persistent high pressure system over
America prevented the jetstream, a 200mph wind that encircles the earth,
from bringing cooler air southward. That extra heat caused blackouts in the
US as people turned to their fans and air-conditioning for relief. Where I
am, the temperature reached 30 degrees, and in London a record breaking 36
degrees Centigrade. Some places in America hit triple figures, 126 degrees Fahrenheit
(52 Centigrade). Some meteorologists are expecting August to be warmer than
July, and according to the scientists, we had better get used to it, for
these killer heat waves
are on the increase.
Quote: ""These [heat] events always occur. What global warming does is push it up another notch," Trenberth said. And the computer models show that soon, we'll get many more — and hotter — heat waves that will leave the old Dust Bowl records of the 1930s in the dust, said Ken Kunkel, director of the Center for Atmospheric Sciences at the Illinois State Water Survey. The way to really judge will be when scientists look back a decade from now, not at a single heat wave, but at the frequency and extremes of all of them, said Mike Wallace, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle. That's when scientists will likely see a statistically significant increase in heat waves and their severity, he said. In fact, he said, that can be seen a bit now. As the saying goes, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the planet. But for those who don't trust Christ for salvation and are left here to face the tribulation period and all its horrors, as the scientists confirm, expect more of the same. The following verses have confused many people for a long time, including myself. How can men be scorched with great heat from the sun and experience terrible darkness, apparently all at the same time? Perhaps what we witnessed in New York last month, with record temperatures and major power blackouts, may hold the answers. Quote: "Con Edison has estimated that as many as 100,000 people have been without electricity. It was unclear exactly how many were still out yesterday, since a customer could be a single person, or a big apartment building. The utility has not been able to explain why the power distribution system began failing in the area at the height of a heat wave. It also has appeared confused, at times, over how many people are still in the dark. A round of severe thunderstorms on Friday hindered efforts to repair a series of unexplained electrical failures in the borough and Con Edison crews have been finding more and more damage as they inspect underground cables, the mayor said. Lies and rumours of lies News media goes on defensive over Qana 2/8/06 |
The controversy surrounding the media coverage of the Qana incident,
initially reported by bloggers in the UK and US, is continuing to grow.
Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France-Presse went on the defensive
yesterday, over claims that rescue workers "posed" for
photographers with the bodies of young children pulled from the rubble. In a
response to the allegations, the three news agencies state that the time
stamps on the photographs do not necessarily indicate when they were taken,
but could indicate the time of day they were wired to head office. US talk
show host, Rush Limbaugh, apparently agreed with the bloggers that these
news agencies were "willing to participate in propaganda",
and directed his viewers to visit the EU Referendum site. I personally doubt
that photographers knew whether the events they were photographing were
staged or not, but as has already been reported by CNN journalists working
in Lebanon, Hizbullah controls what the press can and cannot report, and
reporters could have easily been reporting an incident that was "choreographed"
by the terrorist organization.
Quote: "The site suggests these events were staged for effect, a criticism echoed by talk show host Rush Limbaugh when he directed listeners to the blog on Monday. "These photographers are obviously willing to participate in propaganda," Limbaugh said. "They know exactly what's being done, all these photos, bringing the bodies out of the rubble, posing them for the cameras, it's all staged. Every bit of it is staged and the still photographers know it." advertising The AP said information from its photo editors showed the events were not staged, and that the time stamps could be misleading for several reasons, including that web sites can use such stamps to show when pictures are posted, not taken. An AFP executive said he was stunned to be questioned about it. Reuters, in a statement, said it categorically rejects any such suggestion. Meanwhile, an email sent to the Associated Press staff congratulating them in their efforts on covering events at Qana has been "leaked". While journalists do play an important role in reporting the news, and they have a job to do like everyone else, this email shows us just how much pressure they are under to get the most dramatic images. With Hizbullah wanting to maximize the impact of the Israeli "massacre" for propaganda purposes, and the news media competing for the most dramatic pictures, the truth has become a casualty in this war of opinions. Quote: "Dear Staffers: Last Sunday proved to be one of the
most dramatic days in the war between Israel and Hezbollah fighters in
Lebanon. AP’s extensive photo team produced a stunning series of images
that day that beat the competition and scored huge play worldwide. Source Seattle PI, LittleGreenFootballs |

Lies and rumours of lies Qana deaths exaggerated by media 1/8/06 |
Several US and UK weblogs, including Little Green Footballs, have been
documenting discrepancies in news reports surrounding the "massacre
of Qana", and it seems some news organizations are now picking up
on this. Last Sunday, a tower block collapsed in "Cana of
Galilee", killing dozens of people and prompting immediate worldwide
condemnation of Israel. Many adults and children were holed up in the
building's basement as Israeli jets were pounding Hizbullah forces operating
in the vicinity. The tower block collapsed killing many people as they
slept. Israel has halted air strikes for 48 hours until an investigation
into what happened could be completed.
But many believe this whole event has been "stage managed" by Hizbullah for the mainstream media. Brigadier General Amir Eshel told journalists in a press briefing that he was mystified as to why the structure collapsed at 8am in the morning, some 8 hours after the Israeli guns fell silent. The only explanation the IDF could come up with for its collapse was that unexploded Hizbullah ordinance, which terrorists had stored in the building several days before, may have caused the blast. The closest Israeli fire came to the building was 460 metres away, documented by the onboard cameras of the IAF aircraft. Quote: "Viewers can judge for themselves. But the accumulating evidence suggests another explanation for what happened at Kana. The scenario would be a setup in which the time between the initial Israeli bombing near the building and morning reports of its collapse would have been used to "plant" bodies killed in previous fighting -- reports in previous days indicated that nearby Tyre was used as a temporary morgue -- place them in the basement, and then engineer a "controlled demolition" to fake another Israeli attack. The well-documented use by Palestinians of this kind of faked footage -- from the alleged shooting of Mohammed Dura in Gaza, scenes from Jenin of "dead" victims falling off gurneys and then climbing back on -- have merited the creation of a new film genre called "Palliwood." What's more, there seem to be discrepancies in the photos taken of the dead by the news media, with claims that "rescue workers" posed (WARNING: Link contains disturbing images) with the bodies of the same young children for several hours, while the bodies of adults - which were supposedly members of Hizbullah, were conveniently covered up. The bodies of the dead that were displayed for the benefit of the liberal media also showed signs of significant rigour mortis (WARNING: Link contains disturbing images), supposedly only one hour after their deaths. Maximum rigour mortis sets in from 12-24 hours after death. It also seems the reports in the mainstream media, claiming around 60 deaths - including many women and children, has also been exaggerated by Hizbullah for the benefit of their "propaganda war". Quote: "The Red Cross published that 28 corpses were evacuated from Qana, 19 of which were children. The report clashes with the Lebanese report that 57 people were killed. It seems Hizbullah may be losing the war, but has certainly scored a point against Israel when it comes to propaganda. I don't normally like to tear apart the news in such a manner when the subject matter is about people who have genuinely suffered, but these people are suffering because of Hizbullah and unfortunately the news media have become part and parcel of this war on Israel. The Bible tells us that during the tribulation period, the armies of the world will unite against Israel to destroy the nation once and for all. And looking at today's news, it's easy to see how this could be achieved. Zechariah 12:3 Source YNet News, Israeli Insider, EU Referendum, YNet News |

Revived Roman Empire Commentary: EU must act in Lebanon 1/8/06 |
This link from my friend David...
Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, will meet European ministers today to discuss European plans for a possible peacekeeping force to be deployed in Lebanon. Last week in Rome, talks aimed at bringing an end to the conflict failed to reach any agreement. NATO involvement in the conflict has been ruled out completely, as NATO, according to Jacque Chirac, is perceived as the "military wing" of the Crusaders and Zionists. President Bush has also stated he will not send US troops to Lebanon. President Hosni Mubarak has refused to come to Lebanon's defence, stating the army's role is solely the defence of Egypt. Other nations have pledged to support an international peacekeeping force in the region, including Russia and several Islamic states. But it's increasingly looking like the European Union is the only regional power that is capable of brokering an agreement, has the resolve and means to commit troops on the ground and the financial clout to ensure all sides abide by any agreement reached. The conflict in Lebanon is the perfect testing ground for Javier Solana's crisis-management mechanisms and "2010 Headline Goal", as documented in Recommendation 666. And deployment of the European Rapid Reaction Force into Lebanon, is what some analysts are now calling for. Quote: "Unlike the US, whose inaction in the face of the widening catastrophe has squandered its bona fides as a negotiator for peace, the EU is still a credible broker in the region; Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority are members of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) - their relationship yields more than $45 billion in trade annually. The EU also has normalized diplomatic and trade relations with Iran, the implicit puppet-master of this proxy war. The European Union should consider the immediate dispatch of its EU Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) - invoking the EU Rapid Reaction Mechanism (RRM) - to southern Lebanon. The RRF is a European military force that can be "triggered in situations of crisis and armed conflict," and falls under the auspices of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. Friends, this is exactly the situation we've been predicting for months now, that the European Union would send "peacekeeping" forces into the Middle East in response to a crisis there. And what we are seeing now could well be the beginning of that crisis. According to Scripture things will eventually get worse, and the Antichrist's forces will be deployed in most of the Middle East (except Jordan). As the Bible predicted, an armed force will soon stand in the Middle East on behalf of one man. Daniel 11:31 Source YNet News, EU Observer |
