Apostasy Explaining my thoughts on apostasy 30/6/06 |
I received an email from a friend of mine the other day regarding one of my
articles on apostasy. It seemed I irritated him by something I had written
regarding this issue. I would just like to clear this up...
The Bible warns us that during the last days there will come a great "falling away" from the faith, 2nd Thessalonians 2:3. The word for "falling away" in the Greek is "apostasia", from where we get our word "apostasy". Apostasy simply means to "depart from the truth". We have seen this departure first hand, with the ordination of women leaders in the church, homosexual blessings, the denial of the name of Christ, among many other things. It's not limited to any particular denomination, although some are worse than others. I'm under the impression my friend thought that I was too harsh in my judgement on these things, saying that Jesus never criticized sinners, but helped them overcome the corrupt religious establishment and lead them to salvation. And he is right, if this were just a case of sinners needing salvation, then I wouldn't be so critical. Jesus Christ didn't criticize sinners, but He did challenge the corrupt religious establishment at every turn, calling them hypocrites, vipers, whited sepulchres, and so on. Why? Because he hated them? No, but because they despised the truth. Friends, there is a difference in Scripture between criticizing people and criticizing apostasy. We are to love people, but we are to turn away from and shun apostasy. When some Jews came to visit Peter at mealtime, he was tempted to separate himself from Gentiles according to Judaic teaching. When Paul saw what was going on, he says he "withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed", Galatians 2:11. Did Paul hate Peter? No, but the truth of the Gospel was at stake, that God had made both Jew and Gentile one in Christ. As Paul planned to depart Ephesus, he warned the elders that grievous wolves would soon enter their church, not sparing the flock. Paul says that for three years, he "ceased not to warn everyone day and night with tears", Acts 20:29-21. He said even of their own church, men would arise speaking perverse things, seeking to draw disciples after themselves. If you read Revelation 2 on Christ's estimation of the growth of the church of Ephesus, wolves had come in and were teaching the "deeds of the Nicolaitans", to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication. Read on down to the church of Pergamos, and you will see they didn't deal with the problem. The "deeds" of the Nicolaitans had become the "doctrine" of the Nicolaitans. In other words, the sin through lack of discipline, was eventually sanctioned by the church. Paul's words echo those of Jesus Christ, who warned us to "beware of false prophets in sheep's clothing, who inwardly are ravening wolves", Matthew 7:15. If only they had listened. Paul also warns us in 2nd Thessalonians 3:14-15, that if any man who is called a Christian, does not obey his epistle, note that man and have no company with him. Why? Because Paul hates them? No, Paul says to count him not as an enemy. But their false doctrine will bring you down with them. Paul warns us of the conditions that will characterize the church in the last days, that men shall have a form of Godliness, but deny the power of the Gospel. He says, "from such turn away". You will not change them, but their false doctrine will corrupt you. Friends, I hope this clears up why this false teaching in the church makes me so angry. Perhaps I do go over the top at times, but to remain silent is much more dangerous. 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 |

Wars and rumours of wars Israel defeated at UN Human Rights Council 30/6/06 |
The United Nations, at the request of Arab member states, has voted to adopt
a resolution
which will compel the UN Human Rights body to discuss violations caused by
Israel within the territories captured during the Six Day War, every time a
Council session is convened. The resolution will also give the right of one
third of UN member states in agreement, the power to convene a meeting on
Israeli human rights abuses at any time outside normal sessions. The Israeli
Ambassador to the UN, Yitzhak Levanon, was furious at the new resolution.
The UN had dissolved its Human Rights body in order to replace it with a new
structure that would prohibit countries guilty of abuses from serving on the
committee. This new one-sided resolution, which singles Israel out, was
called for by some of the worst human rights abusers in the world, including
Saudi Arabia, where carrying a Bible can land you in jail. The EU voted
against the resolution, and most other countries abstained.
Quote: "In a harsh address during the discussion, Levanon slammed the conduct of the Hamas-led government in particular and the Palestinians in general, who "kill children and women and fire Qassam rockets at Israel," while Israel is doing all in its power to maintain restraint. "If this would be happening in your country, how would you react?" Levanon asked the meeting attendees. At the end of the discussion, Israel suffered a bitter but expected diplomatic defeat, with 29 countries voting in favor of the resolution proposed by the Arab bloc, which includes Algeria, Djibouti, Morocco, Tunisia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Wars and rumours of wars Egypt steps up pressure on Hamas 30/6/06 |
While many of the Hamas politicians lie incarcerated in Israeli jails,
President Mubarak of Egypt has stepped up pressure on the Hamas
leadership in Syria to release the Israeli captive, Gilad Shalit. The
support of Mubarak has given fresh hope to the family of Gilad that the
young soldier may be still alive. The President asked Syrian President Assad
to deport the Hamas leadership from his country if they refused to release
Gilad, stating that the terrorist leader was driving the Palestinians
towards disaster.
Quote: "Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak demanded from his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad to deport the Syrian-based Hamas leadership unless it agrees to release kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit, Palestinian sources said on Friday. The demand was made in the context of a compromise that Egypt was attempting to draft between the Israel and Hamas, whose Damascus leader, Khaled Mashaal was demanding that thousands of Palestinian detainees, held in Israeli prisons, be released. Mubarak warned Mashaal that his position was leading the Palestinians to disaster, Israel Radio reported. A few days ago, Israeli F16s flew over Bashar Assad's palace in Syria, sending a warning message to the President, who had previously given Hamas his full support over the crisis. The support from Egypt may not be surprising, considering yesterday's developments on the Rafah border. Hamas terrorists once again blew a gaping hole in the perimeter wall, causing hundreds of Palestinians to rush through into Egypt. President Mubarak sealed the Egyptian Gaza border with 2200 troops, in an effort to prevent Hamas from smuggling more weapons into Gaza during this crisis, and possibly also Gilad Shalit into Egypt. Even while incarcerated in jail, these Hamas loonies are still fighting the bit out. The Hamas leadership have had to be transferred to their own wing to prevent further outbreaks of violence. Quote: "(IsraelNN.com) Prisoners from the Fatah and Hamas factions battled against each other Wednesday night in the courtyard of the Megiddo prison, according to Ynet news service. Some 60 security prisoners from both factions rioted and threw objects at each other, while guards worked to separate them and return the inmates to their cells. Apostasy Anglicans give Episcopal church decent burial 29/6/06 |
Tensions are continuing to rise between Christian denominations and the US
Episcopal church, which has made some mind-boggling decisions over the last
few weeks, bordering on blasphemy. The newly elected bishop, Katherine
Jefferts Schori, has caused outrage over recent remarks in which she alluded
to Jesus Christ being feminine, stating "Our mother Jesus gives
new birth to a new creation and we are his children". If you'll
remember just a few weeks ago, I remarked on this new
feminist/New Age ideology that is now pervading Christendom, that God is
perceived as neither male nor female - or both. This belief is prevalent in
New Age and Masonic philosophy, and comes from the pit of hell itself.
Schori also caused outrage shortly after her election, by stating that
homosexuality is not sin, rather that God created it. In an effort to bridge the
deepening chasm between the Anglican and Episcopal churches, the US body
agreed to restrain itself from appointing any more homosexual ministers so
as not to cause further controversy. But in spite of that agreement, the
church has once again caused furore by nominating yet another homosexual
bishop for ordination. And I thought one of the qualifications for a
bishop was that he be the husband of one wife (1st Timothy 3:2).
Quote: "A US Episcopal Church diocese has nominated a gay priest as a candidate for bishop, risking deepening a row with the global Anglican denomination. The liberal diocese of Newark, New Jersey, named Canon Michael Barlowe as one of four candidates for the post. A BBC correspondent says the move is a snub to the wider Anglican Church. The last straw for Anglicans came when the church recently voted against a resolution affirming the name of Jesus Christ to be the only name whereby we can be saved (Acts 4:12), causing one man to exclaim that the Episcopalian denomination can no longer call itself a "Christian church". Yesterday, Anglican ministers held a Requiem Mass for the US Episcopal church, which they have now officially declared dead. Quote: ""The time has come when the faithful who clung to the hope that their church would see the light and submit its will to Christ must now realize that the Episcopal Church they once knew no longer exists. Our doors are open to them and to all who have been made spiritually homeless by the death of their church," Bishop Langberg concluded. Dean York will lead the Requiem Mass for the Episcopal Church at the Anglican Cathedral of St. Paul on Wednesday June 28th at 5:30 PM. "The church body that was so dear to many of us is dead," finished Father York. "It deserves at least a decent burial." Friends, this news is so shocking to us, who find it hard to believe that this apostasy would grow to such an extent as to deny the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Woe is me if I preach not the Gospel of Christ! (1st Corinthians 9:16) The Scriptures warn us about these Christians like Schori, who have a form of Godliness but deny the power of God - which is the Gospel, to turn away from them (2nd Timothy 3:5). The US Episcopal church will have its reward. 2 Peter 2:1 If you want to be spared the wrath of God and go to heaven, you must be born again. Source BBC, VirtueOnline |

Wars and rumours of wars Asheri's body found, killed on Sunday 29/6/06 |
In an unprecedented operation, the IDF arrested
more than 60 Hamas members throughout the West Bank this morning, including
many ministers of the Palestinian Authority government. It seems Israel's
patience with Hamas has just run out. After suffering three months from a
constant barrage of Kassam rockets, these latest killings finally pushed
Israel to do something about Hamas (thankfully), an internationally
recognized terrorist organization that threatens the stability of not only
Israel, but Jordan and the Sinai peninsula. Only in one other country in the
world, could a terrorist organization that is actively involved in violence
and criminality, be considered part of an elected government
administration.
Quote: "Interior Minister Ronnie Bar-On told Ynet that Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh was "a declared terrorist and we will reach him too." "This is not the arrest of hostages to use as bargaining chips (for the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit). The detainees are suspected of terrorist activity, and these are security-criminal arrests,” he said, adding that "I do not fear the international community's response, because it is unified in its stance that the Hamas government is a terror government." These arrests come after, although apparently are not linked to, the discovery of Eliyahu Asheri's body in Ramallah. People from all over the world, myself included, were praying for his safe return. Yesterday, the Popular Resistance Committees, which enjoys close links with Hamas, paraded his credentials in front of the world's press, little be known to them the teen was already dead, lying in an abandoned car. As I said before, hope is fading for Corporal Gilad Shalit, for if an Israeli settler receives such treatment at the hands of the Palestinians, I hate to think what they might have done to a soldier in the IDF. Quote: "Asheri was kidnapped earlier in the week by Popular Resistance Committees members and was apparently murdered on Sunday. A large Shin Bet and IDF force arrived at the neighborhood overnight and discovered Asheri's body in a field covered in dirt. The body was transferred by ambulance to the Ofer army base for identification by Shai District Police forensics experts, and was later transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensics Institute in Tel Aviv. Wednesday's arrest and interrogation of a senior Fatah member suspected of murdering Asheri led security forces to the body. The investigation revealed that the teen was shot in his head from short range. A spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees said following the body's recovery, "let the Israelis find out for themselves if it is Asheri's body or not," he said. "We will not disclose any information for free." |

Wars and rumours of wars Palestinian children killed by work accident 28/6/06 |
As expected, Palestinian
children have become the first casualties of Hamas' latest terror
campaign against Israel. Last night, Reuters and Associated Press television
cameras filmed Palestinian terrorists planting explosive devices in mounds
of sand by a busy roadside, while children played in the streets. This
afternoon one of those children is dead.
Quote: "Palestinians sources say three Palestinians, including a little girl, have been killed in an explosion that rocked the Khan Yunis neighborhood in the Gaza Strip. Palestinians said officials are checking the possibility that the explosion was caused by a work accident. (Ali Waked) It's been confirmed that a 23 year old man, and a 1 year old girl were killed, after a hand grenade they were "playing with" exploded. Quote: "Family members were playing with a grenade in the town of Khan Yunis when it exploded, killing 23-year-old Qassem Massud and his one-year-old niece, medical and security sources said Wednesday. All the casualties were members of the same family. |

Wars and rumours of wars Body found not of kidnapped settler 28/06/06 |
Events the Gaza Strip are continuing to spiral out of control. Israeli
forces destroyed a Hamas terrorist training camp in the town of Rafah this
afternoon. Kassam rockets have also been fired at IDF emplacements, one
landing a few hundred metres away from where Maj.-Gen.
Yoav Gallant was giving a briefing to reporters. The European Union
has called on both sides for calm,
and pleaded with the Palestinians for the unconditional release of Corporal
Gilad Shalit.
Quote: "Austria holds the rotating EU presidency and it issued a statement calling for the soldier's "immediate and unconditional release." It urged "the Palestinian leadership to undertake all necessary efforts in this regard." In the statement, the EU also urged all parties to show restraint and to "avoid further escalation." "Hopes for a resumption of a political dialogue after the recent positive signals, including the meeting between Prime Minister (Ehud) Olmert and President (Mahmoud) Abbas, must not be put at risk," it said. But it seems Palestinians have already carried out their previous promise to slay Eliyahu Asheri. The Popular Resistance Committees had threatened to execute the Israeli teenager, if the IDF did not immediately withdraw from Gaza. In a press conference this afternoon, the terrorist group paraded his identity papers in front of the world's media. The IDF have discovered a charred body in Ramallah, which it is believed could be that of Eliyahu's. It's quite possible Gilad has also suffered a similar fate. Quote: "A charred body found in the Ramallah area Wednesday morning will be taken shortly to the Institute for Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir in order to verify its identity and the possibility that the body is that of missing Itamar resident Eliyahu Asheri. Update. It has been confirmed that the charred body discovered by the IDF in Ramallah was not that of the kidnapped Israeli settler... Wars and rumours of wars Muslims attack Israeli websites 28/6/06 |
Hundreds of Israeli websites are currently being hacked
by Muslims protesting the latest IDF operations in the Gaza Strip. Youths
from a group calling themselves "Team Evil", based in Morocco,
have been leaving messages on the websites accusing Israel of war crimes,
and see their efforts as part of the intifada against Israel. Over 750 such
sites have been defaced within the last few hours, including the Soldier's
Treasury Bank, Bank Hapoalim, Rambam Hospital, the Society for Culture and
Housing, BMW Israel, Subaru Israel, Jump Fashion, non-profit organization
"Yedid," Kadima's youth website, and the Globus Group ticket centre.
Quote: "The group's spokesman previously told Ynet that "we are a group of Moroccan hackers that hack into sites as part of the resistance in the war with Israel. We attack Israeli sites every day. This is our duty... hacking is not a crime." Added another group member: "We want Israel to stop fighting. Stop killing children and we’ll stop hacking." According to the spokesman, the group’s members are all Moroccan youths, under the age of 20. My own site may be pretty basic, but thankfully it's secure. Having no PHP support does have its drawbacks, with no feedback or forums, but has its benefits in that there are no backdoors for people to try and hack into. Source YNet News |

Wars and rumours of wars Aircraft strike bridges and power station in Gaza 28/6/06 |
The Israeli operation Summer
Rains, aimed at securing the release of Corporal Gilad Shalit, began in
earnest late last night. At midnight, three bridges linking North and South
Gaza were destroyed by Israeli missiles, in an effort to prevent Shalit
being moved by his captors. Five missiles also slammed into a power plant
causing blackouts, as tanks rolled into the Strip. The IDF have taken
control of the town of Shukah, east of Rafah, where it is believed Shalit is
being held.
Quote: "Israeli Ambassador to the United States Danny Ayalon said early Wednesday that Israel will end its military offensive ion Gaza if kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit is released in good health. The ambassador told CNN that Israel does not want to harm civilians. Pursuant to a situational analysis among senior members of the defense establishment with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Tuesday evening, it was concluded that time is running out and it is necessary to act forcefully to achieve the release of Shalit. Defense Minister Amir Peretz said, during a speech in Latrun, "The clock is ticking regarding the soldier's return. The IDF is prepared and willing to act." The Popular Resistance Committees have warned Israel to leave the Gaza Strip or they will murder Eliyahu Asheri, an 18 year old boy who has been reported missing since Sunday. They threatened to execute him in an Al-Qaida style attack in front of television cameras. It was not immediately clear if those cameras would be manned by Associated Press or Reuters personnel. Quote: "A spokesman for the group, known only as Abu Abir, told Al-Jazeera satellite TV early Wednesday that Asheri would be "butchered in front of TV cameras" if the IDF operation in Gaza did not stop. "Our patience is running out," said Abu Abir. "I am announcing for the first time that the kidnapped Zionist Israel is searching for is the same settler who is being held by us. He is aged 18-and-a-half... and is a soldier in a pre-military academy," said Abu Abir, the terrorist group's mouthpiece. The claim was being taken very seriously by security forces because Asheri's middle name, Pinchas, had not been revealed to the public. Source YNet News, Jerusalem Post |

Wars and rumours of wars Israel preparing for Gaza incursion 27/6/06 |
The
IDF have destroyed a key bridge in Gaza, close to where it is believed the
abductee, Corporal Shalit, is being held. Hamas had previously declared that
they were only prepared to release the soldier on the condition that Israel
hand over all Palestinian women and boys (under the age of 18) held in
Israeli jails. Israel refused those conditions, and has massed thousands of
troops on the Gaza border in an effort to end the stalemate. Meanwhile,
Associated Press were in Gaza taking some "snaps"
of Palestinian terrorists planting "obstructions" ahead of any
Israeli rescue attempt. Here's one yob holding a gas canister with what
looks like a detonator attached to it. What a stroke of luck the
photographer just happened to have his camera with him at that instant. The
head scarf looks like it identifies him with Abbas' Fatah movement. Syria is
also now getting involved, and has sent forces to protect Hamas leaders from
assassination attempts by Israel.
Quote: "Members of Hamas, the Popular Resistance Committees and other organizations placed large piles of rubble and sand in the midst of roads in a bid to impede army forces' advancement. A Jabalya resident told Ynet that the operatives used tractors to carry stones that were scattered on the roads. In other places in the Strip, similar activities have been carried out. Some of the Gazans living near the border with Israel have left their houses and activists said that residents of Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun in the northern Strip have also evacuated their homes in recent days and that other started preparing to transfer their children to a safe location. The greater an invasion threat becomes, operatives said, the more people will escape their houses. Large piles of sand? That's not going to do much to stop a fifty tonne tank coming down the street. No, Hamas have been placing land mines into those conspicuous looking piles of sand. Again, what a stroke of luck. The Hamas photographer - sorry I mean Associated Press photographer, just happened to know when and where those terrorists were operating, just to keep us up to date with what's going on down there in Hamastan. And with all those children around... Source YNet News, Little Green Footballs |

Corrections and rumours of corrections Breaking News! BBC issues correction 27/6/06 |
Stop the presses! It took Hamas
to correct the BBC's previous report on the implicit recognition of
Israel... Need I say more?
Quote: "Rival Palestinian political factions Fatah and Hamas have reached agreement on a common political strategy to try to end a damaging power struggle. However, Hamas negotiators have denied earlier reports that the deal meant the militants would implicitly recognise Israel - a major policy shift. The full text of the accord has not yet been released. A Hamas minister said it did not have "one word" on the issue. Hmmm... Denied who's reports? Come on BBC, for once admit you've been lying to us. Source BBC |

Lies and rumours of lies EU praises PA agreement on document 27/6/06 |
The mainstream media continued to do what they do best this evening, putting
their own spin on Palestinian double talk and deceiving the general public.
The BBC reports that Hamas has now implicitly
recognized Israel by agreeing to the 18 point plan drafted by
Palestinian prisoners and backed by President Abbas. But the "National
Reconciliation Document" does not implicitly recognize Israel, nor call
for an end to terror. It merely calls for the creation of a Palestinian
state on land captured during the Six Day War, and for the convergence of
opposing factions, Hamas and Fatah, into one big happy terrorist
organization, with Islamic Jihad thrown in for good measure. The document
does not guarantee that a third intifada will not be carried out to achieve
the "liberation" all of Palestine (including Israel), which Hamas
leaders have previously promised is their intended goal (see article on 9/06/06).
Quote: "The BBC's Alan Johnston in Gaza says that the document that Hamas and Fatah have been negotiating for weeks talks of working to end the Israeli occupation and establish a Palestinian state in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza, which would live alongside Israel. Hamas has, up until now, always rejected any recognition of Israel, which it regards as having been founded on stolen Palestinian land. The US very wisely stated they will not congratulate Hamas or Fatah on this achievement, opting instead to wait until terrorist atrocities against Israel cease. But the EU has thrown caution to the wind, and there is no doubt Javier Solana will be working feverously behind the scenes to ensure this document forms the basis for a future peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. Quote: "The EU praised a political agreement between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the governing Hamas movement on Tuesday but said it was only a start and that more was needed, including a renunciation of violence. The 25-nation bloc's executive European Commission said the accord should ease tensions among Palestinian factions that has threatened stability in the region. (Reuters) Friends, this "peace initiative" will be pushed by the EU to the hilt, and only the Lord is able to annul Israel's covenant with hell - if it adopts the plan, for that's what I believe it is. Weather Climate hottest in 2000 years 27/6/06 |
A new study published by scientists in the US has revealed that the world is
experiencing its warmest period in history, in at least the last 2000
years. The data collected from glaciers in South America and Asia
suggest that glaciers are melting at an unprecedented rate, increasing fears
about the threat of rising sea levels to coastal populations. Not only did
the geological record show the past fifty years have been exceptionally
warm, but evidence gathered from 28 sites worldwide shows the retreating
glaciers have exposed plants that were frozen during the deluge of the flood
of Noah. This suggests earth is experiencing its warmest period in at least
the last 4500 years.
Quote: "Professor Thompson said the research was based on nearly 50 scientific expeditions to seven mountain glaciers over the past three decades, including the Huascaran and Quelccaya ice caps in Peru, the Sajama ice cap in Bolivia and the Dunde and Puruogangri ice caps in China. He said: "We have a record going back 2,000 years and when you plot it out, you can see the medieval warm period [from 1000 to 1300] and the little ice age [from 1600 to 1850]. And in that same record, you can clearly see the 20th century and the thing that stands out is how unusually warm the last 50 years have been. There hasn't been anything like it, not even in the medieval warm period. While it's not clear that the problem of global warming is human related - and there are many other factors involved, including volcanic and solar activity, some people try to make out that there is no global warming problem at all, and it's all just a media hype. I can't understand that view, for the Bible states in Revelation that during the tribulation period, some of the judgements God will send upon men will be related to the sun. Revelation 16:8-9 According to astronomers, the sun is ending its eleven year cycle soon, possibly by the end of 2007. The next cycle will culminate in a 50% increase in activity around the year 2012. To me at least, no matter what mankind does in the way of Kyoto Summits and climate change policies, the Scriptures foretell that there will come a time of immense suffering for those on earth during the tribulation period. Quote: "There is disagreement on exactly when the new cycle will begin -- one key researcher predicted the cycle will start in late 2007 or early 2008, and another said it could begin either late this year or in early 2007. But they did agree that the most severe storms won't begin popping on the solar surface for several years, but when they do, they'll be huge. The solar storms in the past have knocked out huge power grids and screwed up global electronics and data communications, but "the next sunspot cycle will be 30 to 50 percent stronger than the last one," the scientists said in Monday's statement. Wars and rumours of wars Somali Muslims to stone rapists to death 26/6/06 |
Somalis have just got a new opportunity
to enjoy that law and order the BBC were so keen to tell us about a few days
ago, now that your friendly Islamic militia has taken control of the
country. A few days ago, a Swedish reporter was shot dead at point blank
range, during a rally held in honour of the Islamic courts that have
overthrown the Somali government. In true BBC reporting style, "it was
not immediately clear why the shooting was carried out". Well not only
those in Northern Mogadishu, but the whole state of Somalia can now look
forward to experiencing the true justice of Islamic sharia law. Five men,
who supposedly raped four women, will be stoned to death on their own
admission of guilt and on the say so of the four women. I say supposedly,
for since the trial of Abdul the Christian covert earlier in the year, my
faith in sharia law has been shattered to the core.
Quote: ""Five men who raped four women on June 22 will be stoned to death today (Monday) in accordance with the Islamic sharia. They have pleaded guilty to the crime and also have been identified by the victims," Siyad Mohamed, a militia leader linked to Islamic courts, told Reuters by phone from Jowhar. I like this quote. It shows how naive the Associated Press really are in reporting news about radical Islam. An innocent man is shot dead in the street for no apparent reason, and AP are more concerned about the Islamic courts' reputation. Now if it was an Israeli who shot the man dead... Quote: "The Islamists at first tried to present a moderate face to the world, saying they only wanted to end anarchy and restore peace lost since dictator Mohamed Siad Barre was ousted in 1991... The shooting of a Swedish journalist in Mogadishu Friday also hurt the Islamists' claim to be pacifying the city. Yikes! Is it just me, or is anyone else under the impression that this Somali coup was more than just a peaceful uprising to restore law and order? Sorry friends, but this Islamic dhimmitude frustrates me. The fact that news organizations are bending over backwards to accommodate what amounts to no more than terrorism in the name of Islam. It's about time someone stood up for the truth. Persecution Pope calls for campaign against religious extremism 26/6/06 |
Pope Ratzinger has called for moderate
voices to stand up against extremism in all religions, in a recent
meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Dressed in black, according
to Papal protocol - showing that as a member of the "Protestant"
faith he is a "separated brother", Tony Blair used the occasion to
discuss Northern Ireland, poverty in Africa and the War on Terror. But the
Pope's remarks, in which he called for a campaign against all religious
"extremism", could end up demonising "fundamental"
Christians who represent a significant threat to their New World Order.
Quote: "A Downing Street spokesman said: “The Prime Minister and the Pope talked about the challenges of globalisation (read "New World Order") and the importance of dialogue between the faiths to battle extremism and terrorism. One of the themes of discussion was how the moderate voices in all the world’s major religions need to stand up to religious extremism in all its forms.” This last comment echoes the comments of David Blunkett, the former Home Secretary, when he compared evangelical Christians to Islamic terrorists – both of whom, he said, were examples of ‘fundamentalist extremists’. And not only David Blunkett. Prime Minister Tony Blair was also blasted by Northern Ireland MPs earlier in the year, after stating that Protestants who murder Catholics in Northern Ireland are compelled to do so by a strain of extremism within their religion. MPs called his remarks a "studied insult to the Protestant community". Quote: Blair: "There are those, perfectly decent-minded people, who say the extremists who commit these acts of terrorism are not true Muslims, and of course, they are right," he said. "They are no more proper Muslims than the Protestant bigot who murders a Catholic in Northern Ireland is a proper Christian. "But unfortunately, he's still a Protestant bigot. "To say his religion is irrelevant is both completely to misunderstand his motive and to refuse to face up to the strain of extremism within his religion that has given rise to it." Clearly Tony Blair does not understand the nature of the conflict in Northern Ireland, nor does he understand his own "Protestant" faith. The Bible states that during the tribulation period, the Antichrist will make war against the earth-dwelling saints. It seems this "religious extremism" problem will be used by those in the New World Order to unite all moderate religious people (who will drop their convictions for the sake of peace) under one umbrella. Those who will not unite will be characterized as extremists by the media, destroyers of the peace and hated by the world. Daniel 7:20-21 Revelation 13:6-7 Source Ian Paisley, BBC |

Wars and rumours of wars Al-Aqsa claims possession of chemical weapons 26/6/06 |
A leaflet being distributed by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the
"military wing" of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party, is
boasting it has mastered the manufacture of chemical
and biological weapons. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs have stated that these
"chemical weapons" can be placed on rockets and will be used
against Israeli soldiers in the event of a Gaza invasion. Israel had
threatened to mount an incursion into Gaza, if anything happens to Gilad Shalit, the IDF soldier who was kidnapped from his post in Southern Israel
yesterday. An Israeli security source stated that "the Hamas
government will cease to exist", if Gilad Shalit is not returned
alive. Egypt has offered assistance in ensuring the safe return of the
soldier. Palestinians have stated that Gilad is alive, and both Hamas Prime
Minister Ismael Haniyeh and President Abbas have said they intend to use him
as a "bargaining chip" to draw concessions from Israel.
Quote: ""With the help of Allah, we are pleased to say that we succeeded in developing over 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons, this after a three-year effort,” the group said in a leaflet it has distributed. “We say to (Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert and (Defense Minister Amir) Peretz: Your threats of invasion do not frighten us. We will surprise you with new weapons you have not faced until now. As soon as an IDF soldier sets foot on Gazan land, we will respond with a new weapon.” Source YNet News |

Wars and rumours of wars Palestinians kill two soldiers, kidnap third 25/6/06 |
The Hamas terrorist organization claimed responsibility for killing
two IDF soldiers this morning in a deadly attack in Southern Israel. The
Al-Qassam Brigade said the raid came in response to the deaths of a family
of seven on a Gaza beach a couple of weeks ago, which the Palestinians
blamed on an artillery round fired from an offshore warship. According to
the cameraman, who just happened to be on the scene at the time, Ghalia asked
him to film her beside her dad's body "show the world the crimes
that Israel is committing." Hamas stated this latest attack
represented "a fulfilment of the duty to the girl Huda Ghalia whose
family was killed in front of her eyes." An Israeli investigation
into the explosion later proved beyond all reasonable doubt that Israel was
not involved in the incident, and that the most likely cause was a land
mine, planted by the Palestinians themselves and intended for Israeli
forces.
Quote: "The fact that Palestinians fabricate using pictures or bring incorrect pictures into circulation in the Middle East war is not new. In the media parlance, since the US TV Magazine 60 Minutes sensational documentary, one speaks of "Pallywood" - following Hollywood's film industry. In the [60 minutes] report for example one can see Palestinians of the latest Intifada, who carry a dead person on a stretcher. Someone trips, the alleged dead man falls on the ground - and quickly jumps back on the stretcher, lies down and acts like a dead man. In this latest atrocity, Palestinian terrorists had dug a tunnel from the Gaza Strip into Southern Israel, from which they fired an anti-tank missile at a military outpost, threw several grenades at a tank, killing a Commander and a Second Lieutenant, and kidnapped another soldier. Four of the terrorists were also shot dead. How are the Palestinians themselves reacting to these killings? Teaching their children it is wrong to take another person's life? Ummmm, nope. They're handing out sweets, and pledging to sacrifice more of their kids to this insatiable demon god of war... Quote: "The mother of one of the two Palestinians killed in the incident near Kerem Shalom handed out sweets to passers-by in her neighborhood in response to the killing of IDF soldiers. The mother expressed her support of her son's actions and said that she is ready to sacrifice her entire family in the war against the enemy. Source Jerusalem Post, Zionism-Israel, YNet News |

Apostasy Christian group calls for abolition of marriage 24/6/06 |
This from Sermon Audio...
The "Christian" group, Ekklesia, is calling for the abolition of marriage, which it regards as a failed institution, and an insult to people of other persuasions. Ekklesia is proposing the abolition of legal marriage, opting instead for civil ceremonies for all, with an optional legally non-binding, religious ceremony for those who want it. These proposals would essentially lower the status of marriage to the same as that of homosexual and lesbian civil ceremonies in the eyes of the state. Quote: "It would also create greater clarity in the situation created by civil partnerships, which grant gay and lesbian couples similar rights to those who get married, but not comparable status. Jonathan Bartley, director of Ekklesia, said the plans were a response to the failure of marriage. He said: "Legal marriage clearly isn't working. A divorce rate of around 40 per cent is surely evidence enough of this. "At the moment there is only one form of marriage defined under law, which everyone has to take or leave. "It does not reflect Christian ideas of marriage, which are based on a covenant before God, rather than a legal contract and agreement between individuals. And it does not properly acknowledge the reality of the existence of other, secular viewpoints, either. In the eyes of Ekklesia, the way to sure-up marriage and reverse the divorce rates is to permit anyone to marry, regardless of their sexual orientation. Marriage in the eyes of God becomes just an after-thought. But Ekklesia has got it very wrong. Legal marriage is working, it's the lack of moral teaching in today's society that is causing the problem - Ekklesia clearly demonstrating that they are also suffering from this problem. You don't scrap laws and institutions just because people don't adhere to them. I wonder should we scrap the laws prohibiting drug abuse, seeing they also aren't working. Sorry, the Presbyterian church has already thought of that. Revelation 2:14-16 |

Wars and rumours of wars Hamas threaten Jihad against... Britain? 23/6/06 |
The Palestinian Media Watch, an organization that documents the media Jihad
being waged by Islam against Israel and the West, is warning of a new video
posted on the Palestinian Authority website. The video, shot by the Hamas
"military wing", Al-Qassam Brigades, calls for a Muslim Jihad not
only against Israel, but against worldwide targets including Britain, the
US, Chechnya, Kashmir, and a number of other provinces where Islam is
fighting to take control. Earlier in the week, Islamic terrorists overthrew
the government of Somalia. The liberal news media are trying their best to accommodate
the terrorists...
Quote: "There are 11 autonomous (Islamic) courts in Mogadishu, some of which have periodically tried to clamp down on robbery, drugs and what they say are pornographic films being shown in local video houses. At first they concentrated on petty crime but by the mid 1990s they had progressed to dealing with major crimes in north Mogadishu. Thieves had their limbs amputated and murderers were executed. Mr Garaad says that despite protests from human rights bodies, north Mogadishu residents were pleased to enjoy law and order - in stark contrast to south Mogadishu, where crime was rampant. Let's see what SomaliaWatch says about this Islamic coup in Somalia (this was written five years ago, before Somalia was officially taken over by Islamic terror. Could Britain be five years away from this?)... Quote: "Undoubtedly Islam preaches peace and harmony but Islamic
extremists in Somalia tend to use political Islam as a weapon of eliminating
enemies and peace forces in the area. In fact my fear is that Islamic
extremists are trying to destroy the long held tolerance and harmony among Muslims
and Christians in the horn of Africa... Hang on a minute. We are guilty of encouraging robbery, drugs and the publication of pornographic material in the West, through our lax laws and liberal mindsets... No... Couldn't be... Surely the UK could not be ripening for a take over by benevolent, Islamic terrorists who just want to clean up our streets? Well according to this new Hamas video, that's exactly what Islam is aiming for. We are the ones who will have to decide whether we will go quietly or not. And as has been demonstrated last year in France, a Jihad in the UK is very possible and don't expect the mainstream media to be reporting the facts. Quote: "Ghalban declares, "We will rule the nations, by Allah's will, the U.S.A. will be conquered, Israel will be conquered, Rome and Britain will be conquered... " Identifying itself as coming from the "Al-Qassam Brigades Media Office," Hamas' "military wing," the leader states on the video: "The Jihad for Allah ... is the way of Truth and the way for salvation and the way which will lead us to crush the Jews and expel them from our country Palestine. Just as the Jews ran from Gaza, the Americans will run from Iraq and Afghanistan and the Russians will run from Chechnya, and the Indian will run from Kashmir, and our children will be released from Guantanamo. The prisoners will be released by Allah's will, not by peaceful means and not by agreements, but they will be released by the sword, they will be released by the gun." Apostasy Mormon church resumes "studies" in Israel 23/6/06 |
The Mormon
church has lifted a six year hiatus on Mormons travelling to Israel. The
decision to stop Mormon travel to the Holy Land came after the resumption of
Palestinian violence in 2000, but this travel ban was lifted after renewed hopes for
a peace agreement in the Middle East. Mormons are sent to Israel from all
over the world to study in their Brigham Young University, located in
Jerusalem. The Mormons have
also erected another building in East Jerusalem, on the slopes of Mount
Scopus, overlooking the site of the Temple Mount. The Mount Scopus centre was
built on the agreement that the Mormons would not use it as a base for proselytising
the Jews - an activity that is strictly prohibited by Israeli law. But the proselytising
is be carried out.
Quote: "Hundreds of students arrived every year since then to study using subsidized tuitions, and upon returning home they became ambassadors of good will. During their stay in Israel the Mormon students participated in archeological digs and enjoyed touring holy sites. They also took trips all over Israel, and visited Egypt and Jordan. The Mormon's curriculum in Jerusalem is very popular among the community's students, who compete for a space at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where the beautiful campus overlooks the Temple Mount. I was just reading up on Mormonism the other day. Joseph Smith, who was supposedly given 12 golden plates by the angel Moroni, on which were etched the entire book of Mormon, was a Freemason. His father, Joseph Smith Senior, was a Master Mason in Ontario Lodge No. 23 of Canandaigua, New York. His brother, Hyrum, was a member of Mount Moriah Lodge No. 112, Palmyra New York. In fact, most of the elders of the early Mormon church were all Freemasons, and Mormonism is so closely intertwined with Freemasonry, it is considered part of the Masonic Order. You cannot leave the Mormon church and become a Freemason, as you are considered to have left Masonry upon leaving Mormonism. Quote: "When the first Mormon pioneer company entered the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, under Brigham Young's leadership, a significant body of Masons entered with him. As of that date, the full Mormon Hierarchy was comprised of Masons. A review of the 143 men entering the valley at this time shows how wide-spread Masonry had become among the Mormons. Three of the group were black slaves, 16 were young men not yet of age, which leaves 124 who might possibly have been of the Craft. Of these there were 10 whose age was not known, who with 38 others are not known to have been Masons. This means that 76 of the possible 124 left, or 61%, were documented members of the Craft. Freemasonry has so influenced the Mormon church that Mormons actually wear Masonic symbols on their undergarments. Mormons are bound by a satanic oath not to reveal these secrets. On the left and right breasts they wear the compass and square, and over the naval and right knee they wear something called the "middle pillar". These symbols are classical Masonic emblems, and do not represent what Mormons are told they represent. Quote: ""The Masonic compass is stitched over the left breast of the Mormon temple garment. In esoteric Masonry I was taught that the compass represents the sacred Goddess. This is because the compass is used to describe a circle in geometry, and the circle is the consummate symbol of the Goddess in Wicca. Hence all coven ritual is conducted in a circle. ...the 'point' of the sacred coven circle actually is the womb of the high priestess who represents the Goddess. The circle then is a symbol of the Queen of heaven; and the compass is her chief tool. "In Blue Lodge Masonry the candidate is first initiated by piercing his left breast with the point of a compass. And in all occultism, the left-hand is considered sacred to the feminine, goddess-principle. "Over the right breast of the Mormon garment is a square. The right hand side is masculine and sacred to the Horned God (who we in Wicca eventually learned was Lucifer). The square is sacred to Lucifer because of its phallic connotations, and the Fellowcraft candidate in Masonry is challenged on his right breast by the point of the square. Friends, this Mormon religion is nothing more than a Masonic cult. Masons who reach the 30th-33rd degree are taught that there are two Gods, one called Lucifer who is the God of light, and another called Yahweh, who has persecuted mankind. Mormons claim to worship the true God, and even Jesus Christ, but the god of their religion is Lucifer himself. If you are a Mormon, or have any Mormon friends, warn them to get out of this false religion that God will destroy, and show them who Jesus Christ really is. Peace process Rabbi: Olmert will end up like Sharon 22/6/06 |
Prime Minister Olmert is meeting with President Abbas in the ancient city of
Petra,
Jordan today. The breakfast was hosted by Jordan's King Abdullah II, with Vice Prime
Minister Shimon Peres also attending the conference. At the event Olmert
announced plans to withdraw from several settlements in Judea and Samaria,
including the ancient town of Shiloh, where the tabernacle once stood until
the building of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem.
Quote: ""Shilo, Beit El, Ofra and Kedumim were always part of the historical Land of Israel, and they always emotionally will be," Olmert said in a conversation with Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel at the Petra Nobel Laureates Conference in Jordan. "We, Israelis, Jews, firmly and deeply believe that this Land of Israel from the Jordan River to the [Mediterranean] Sea has always been our heritage. We will always have a right to this land. Our history, and not that of the Palestinians, is buried underneath this land," the Prime Minister said. They may always have a Divine right to the land, but Israel is no longer prepared to exercise that right. Olmert's announcement of yet more disengagements has brought criticism from a group of Rabbis calling themselves SOS Israel. Rabbi Dov Wolpe is planning to protest the West Bank withdrawals, and has stated that what happened to Sharon (apparent Divine judgement - struck with a coma shortly after the disengagement from Gaza), could also happen to Olmert. Quote: ""We are pushing back the arrival of the messiah due to loathing of the Land of Israel. And in view, two train accidents took place during the time of the Shlah Torah portion, in which spies are sent to check the land, and they bring back defamation, and therefore this means we are loathing the land and we are paying the price with lives," Rabbi Wolpe asserted. Mark of the Beast Wisconsin bans compulsory RFID implants 22/6/06 |
This from my friend Adam...
The State of Wisconsin has officially banned the forced implantation of RFID microchips in humans. The bill was passed unanimously in both houses this spring, and those that fall foul of the law could find themselves facing a $10,000 fine. Even though there has been no recorded case of anyone being implanted against their will, some forward thinking people in Wisconsin have decided to make it a criminal offence before pressure starts being applied by big companies to get their employees chipped. Quote: ""We're not even aware of anyone attempting to forcibly implant microchips into people," says Albrecht. "That lawmakers felt this legislation was necessary indicates a growing concern that the company's product could pose a serious threat to the public down the road." Although the company emphasizes that its chip is strictly voluntary, recent statements suggest this could easily change. VeriChip Chairman of the Board Scott Silverman has been promoting the VeriChip as a partial solution to immigration concerns, proposing it as a way to register guest workers, verify their identities as they cross the border, and "be used for enforcement purposes at the employer level." He told interviewers on the Fox News Channel that the company has "talked to many people in Washington about using it." The company has also confirmed it has been in talks with the Pentagon about replacing military dog tags with VeriChip implants. Conrad Chase of Baja Beach Clubs has stated that the intention of Applied Digital Solutions is to bring the VeriChip ID system to a global level, eliminating the need to carry cash, credit cards and credentials. As part of this global campaign, VeriChip Corporation has announced that it had just sold its first PC RoamAlert Wander Protection System to a company in Australia, which enables residential care homes to keep track of patients that are prone to wander due to mental illness. Quote: "RoamAlert marks the next generation in wander prevention, not only in terms of its ability to easily scale and support additional healthcare security applications, but also for its feature-rich software, a key selling point in this particular sale. The facility liked RoamAlert's ability to provide picture ID, complete record keeping, and other advanced features. The installation will consist of multiple door systems around the facility with a central PC monitoring station as the facility looks to provide the necessary resident protection while not taking away their mobility and freedom within the building. There are some people who still believe those that law-abiding citizens have nothing to fear from RFID implants. But the Bible states that the first worldwide compulsory identification system will be introduced by the Antichrist, and those who accept the mark and pledge their allegiance to the Beast will bring upon themselves eternal damnation. Earthquakes San Andreas fault "ready to explode" 21/6/06 |
Scientists working at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at La Jolla,
California are warning that the San
Andreas fault is under immense pressure, and could trigger a massive
earthquake at any moment. Yuri Fialko states that slippage of the tectonic
plates of North America and the Pacific ocean occurs regularly in the north,
but not in the south since the colonization of the continent. Analysis of
the frequency of major earthquakes along this fault correlate with slippage
in the southern region of the plates, which is only released every 250-300
years. In short, that means we are well overdue for a major earthquake in
San Francisco, which could kill thousands of people.
Quote: "Yuri Fialko, of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at La Jolla, California, said that given average annual movement rates in other areas of the fault, there could be enough pent-up energy in the southern end to trigger a cataclysmic jolt of up to 10 meters (32 ft). "The observed strain rates confirm that the southern section of the San Andreas fault may be approaching the end of the interseismic phase of the earthquake cycle," he wrote in the science journal Nature. A sudden lateral movement of 7 to 10 meters would be among the largest ever recorded. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake that destroyed San Francisco in 1906 was produced by a sudden movement of the northern end of the fault of up to 21 ft. And this is what seems to be happening. A few days ago, my friend Laura alerted me to a sudden spike in the number of earthquakes in the Alaska region. Over 60 earthquakes were recorded in Alaska alone within 24 hours, a major increase compared to the general number of earthquakes recorded daily. Recurring quakes and volcanic activity are already causing panic in Japan and Indonesia, and if Yuri is right it may only be a matter of time before we experience another earthquake on the scale of Asian earthquake in 2004. Apostasy Episcopalians refuse affirmation of Christ 21/6/06 |
As the saying goes, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but in
this case they want literally "any other name". The Episcopalian
church, which openly approves of homosexuality and has "elected"
its first woman leader, has voted by overwhelming majority that the name of Jesus
Christ is not the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts
4:12). In fact they not only rejected the proposal which would reaffirm the
church's "unchanging commitment to Jesus Christ as the Son of God,
the only name by which any person may be saved", a whopping 70%
(675 votes) of the Episcopalian convention voted against even considering
the resolution.
Quote: ""If we cannot affirm the unique salvific power of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are no longer a Christian church." Switching to a sarcastic tone, Howell declared, "We have no need for a Creed. Why do again what we did in the past?" "This clearly shows that we are of a mind that does not affirm Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. And we should not be surprised that our church is dying spiritually," said Howell. The Bible states that in the last days there would be those who would depart from the faith, giving heed to "seducing spirits" and "doctrines of demons" (1st Timothy 4:1). Some would even go so far as to bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them (2nd Peter 2:1). I could never understand how Christians could deny the name of Christ, but with this Episcopalian resolution I now understand. Friends, just like in the church of Laodicea in Revelation 3, Christ is now outside the Church trying to get in! The Lord's return must be near. I hope there will be a few found faithful in the Episcopalian church who have not defiled their garments. 2nd Peter 2:1 Source Virtue Online |

Apostasy The Presbyterian Church's "gender bender" 20/6/06 |
...for want of a better phrase. Militant feminists and New Agers in the US Presbyterian
Church should feel at home with the new policy that has been passed by
the assembly defining the Holy Trinity. Forget Christ's command to baptise
all nations in the name of the "Father, Son and Holy Spirit". If
you are ardent in your belief that the Bible was transcribed in a culture
that oppressed women, you can be baptised in the name of the "Mother,
Child and Womb". Or a number of different phrases the Presbyterian
Church is working on. All this amounts to a well organized satanic attack on
the character of God. If God is redefined as female, we can incorporate all
the New Age Gaia worshippers into the Church, who worship "Mother
Earth". If God is perceived as neither male nor female - or both, and
God's relationship to His creation is the ultimate example for our own
family relationships, all sorts of weird and wacky family units can be
excused (as my dad says, some people have the "fruits of the
Spirit", and some others have the "spirit of fruits")
Quote: "Delegates to the meeting voted to "receive" a policy paper on gender- inclusive language for the Trinity, a step short of approving it. That means church officials can propose experimental liturgies with alternative phrasings for the Trinity, but congregations won't be required to use them. "This does not alter the church's theological position, but provides an educational resource to enhance the spiritual life of our membership," legislative committee chair Nancy Olthoff, an Iowa laywoman, said during Monday's debate on the Trinity. And that's exactly what is happening. The new head of the US Episcopalian Church has announced that God created homosexuality, and it is not a sin. Katherine Jefferts Schori - yes it's a woman, has stated that people are born into the world with different affections. Some men like women, and some men like men, and some women like women, and some men and women like anything going. According to Schori, it's all legit in the eyes of God. Quote: "Interviewed on CNN, Jefferts Schori was asked if
it was a sin to be homosexual. "I don't believe so. I believe that
God creates us with different gifts. Each one of us comes into
this world with a different collection of things that challenge us and
things that give us joy and allow us to bless the world around us," she
said. "Some people come into this world with affections ordered toward
other people of the same gender and some people come into this world with
affections directed at people of the other gender."... The Bible has a lot to say about affection, or perhaps this is one of the passages Schori doesn't observe. The Bible states that not only are the passages on sexual sin relevant for today, but that sexual sin will be one of the main characteristics of the last days. Make no mistake, God will judge men for these sins. Colossians 3:5-6 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 |

Revived Roman Empire Solana to head new EU anti-terror force 20/6/06 |
This from my friend Dawn...
I am absolutely dumbfounded at this news. At the European summit in Brussels last week, EU leaders agreed to implement a new anti-terrorism force, drawing scathing condemnation from MPs who have accused the politicians of cherry picking legislation from the carcase of the Constitution and drafting it into European law. Last year the European leaders, prompted by the head of the European Defence Agency - Javier Solana again, agreed to pool their defence markets, in a move that could pave the way for the creation of an EU army. This legislation was also originally part of the Constitution package, but the EU leaders took it upon themselves to adopt it into law behind our backs. Quote: "At the Brussels European summit, all 25 member states agreed to pool assets - police, civil protection and military - and place them at the disposal of Javier Solana, the EU's foreign minister-in-waiting. Such a move had been planned in the constitution which was rejected by voters in France and Holland last year. The constitution has been left on the shelf although Europe's leaders want it up and running again by 2008. Minutes of the summit show that the kernel of the counter-terrorism force, the "crisis steering group", will be operational in a fortnight. This summit has seen the beginning of the creation of that European army. Javier Solana, the High Representative of the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, will head this "anti-terrorism" task force, in accordance with his own "Recommendation 666". Quote: "12. Support proposals for the WEU Secretary-General and CFSP High Representative to preside over the PSC and civilian crisis-management machinery and give him powers to convene the Council of the European Union in the event of an emergency; Javier Solana has already stated that he wishes to merge the EU External Relations Commissioner with his own role of High Representative for the Common, Foreign and Security Policy. This merger would effectively give Europe one voice in world affairs, and Javier Solana is already tipped to fill that role. But with no EU Constitution Javier is in limbo, unless the EU decides to implement this legislation behind our backs also. Quote: "6. It is also important that the EU – in the whole range of its external affairs – is represented in a credible and coherent manner. The weaknesses deriving from the current divided representation shall be avoided in the future. The only rational solution to the problem is to make the Commission – that already successfully represents the EU in a remarkable part of its external relations – the representative for the entire external policy (except defence). This can be achieved by merging the function of the current Commissioner responsible for external relations and that of the High Representative of the CFSP and placing it in the Commission. Only in this manner, the needs of a single administration, a coherent representation of external policy and its parliamentary control can be fulfilled The Bible states that "arms shall stand" on the part of the Antichrist during the tribulation period. During this period, after the seven year covenant breaks down, the Antichrist will enter into many countries to try and keep the peace. Egypt, Libya and Sudan will be occupied (Daniel 11:42-43). The creation of the anti-terror force, which shall "stand on the part" of Javier Solana, could well pave the way for the fulfilment of these verses. Daniel 11:31-32 |

Temple Mount Petition against destruction of the Temple Mount 19/6/06 |
Chairman of One Jerusalem, Natan Sharansky, is launching a petition
for the preservation of ancient artefacts being discovered on the Temple
Mount. One Jerusalem is an organization dedicated to the preservation of
Jerusalem as the eternal, indivisible capital of Israel - something many
Israeli leaders no longer believe in. The Islamic Waqf, who administer the
Temple Mount site, systemically destroy hundreds of archeological artefacts
during their construction of an underground mosque in the place where the
Jewish Temples once stood. They have dumped hundreds of tonnes of rubble into the Kidron valley, with scant regard
to any Jewish historical objects that may be among the debris. The Islamic
Waqf believe that by constructing the mosque, the Mount will remain
permanently off-limits to Jews and Christians. There have also been fears
that the construction of the mosque could cause the Temple Mount to
collapse. You can listen here to Natan Sharanksy's comments
on the desecration at the Mount.
The Bible states that during the tribulation period, a third Jewish Temple will be constructed, and the sacrificial system will be recommenced. Already, most of the artefacts used in Temple service by the priests, including the Breast Plate, the High Priest's garments and the Ephod have already been manufactured according to Old Testament specifications. Priests are already being trained in Israel, to be ready for the day when the Temple is reconstructed. You can view some of the artefacts here at the Temple Institute. Peace Process EU won't recognize unilateral disengagement 19/6/06 |
When Prime Minister Olmert visited Britain last week, he received British
Prime Minister Tony Blair's full support
for Israel's West Bank disengagement policy. Tony Blair stated that if
Israel could not find a willing partner to negotiate with in the Palestinian
authority, other ways would have to be found to move the peace process
forward.
Quote: "Look, this thing either moves forward by way of agreement, or other ways to move it forward have got to be found. But I want to see it move forward by agreement, and so does the Prime Minister (Olmert). What you can't have is a situation where nothing happens because actually nothing happening doesn't mean that the situation is one of steady state, it actually means it just continues to deteriorate. But don't be under any doubt at all, our task, and as I say our task in the international community is to try and give the best chance possible for a negotiated settlement to take place. But it seems the support that Olmert enjoyed during his visit to England has been whipped from under his feet by the bureaucrats in Brussels. The 25 member nation bloc has told Israel in point-blank terms that they will not support an Israeli unilateral withdrawal from Judea and Samaria, and will only be prepared to recognize pre-1967 borders without Palestinian agreement. In short that means the Palestinian Authority can hold Israel to ransom over every last inch of land, with the full backing of the European Union. President Abbas has previously stated that he is opposed to leaving a single stone of the Israeli settlements within the 1967 borders. Quote: "The European Union’s External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said Monday that “the EU will not recognize any borders between Israel and the Palestinian Authority that will be determined by unilateral steps.” During a meeting with Meretz-Yahad Chairman Yossi Beilin in Jerusalem, Ferrero-Waldner expressed her bewilderment over the fact that no negotiations have been held with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas even though three months have passed since the Israeli elections. Negotiations postponed? Doesn't anyone in the EU remember the little problem we had with the terror group Hamas being elected into the Palestinian Authority? The "two state" solution, which the internationally recognized solution to the Middle East conflict, will never be achieved, because it is in direct contravention to the Word of God... Wars and rumours of wars North Korea planning 6000km missile test 19/6/06 |
This link from my friend Andy...
The US and Japan have expressed fears after it was revealed North Korea may be planning a long-range missile test. The Taepodong 2 missile is capable of striking targets within a 6000km range, putting Alaska and Hawaii within reach of the communist state. In 1998, North Korea test-fired a missile that flew over Japan and landed in the sea. The country continues to present a big problem for Asian stability, and has been developing a covert nuclear programme for decades. It is feared North Korea may be close to possessing nuclear weapons. North Korea also presents a major weapons proliferation problem for the world, and supplies terror states such as Iran and Syria with its advanced missile technology. Quote: "Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso warned yesterday that Japan, which is already targeted by North Korea's medium-range Nodong missiles, would "perceive it as an attack" if a missile landed on Japanese territory. "The responses will be rather harsh," Mr Aso said. Mr Aso said demands for UN Security Council sanctions would inevitably follow a launch. Source The Australian |

Peace process Abbas and Hamas agree over document 17/6/06 |
Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker, Abdel Aziz Dweik, has confirmed
that Fatah and Hamas have reached an agreement over the "National
Reconciliation Document". President Abbas had threatened to hold a referendum
on the document, if Hamas failed to comply with the plan which was drawn up
by Hamas and Fatah prisoners. Polls estimated that at least 77% of the
Palestinian people were in favour of the document - not that it offers peace
to Israel, but for the sake of ending the Palestinian infighting which has
been growing out of control. There had been fears of a Palestinian civil war
should an agreement not be found, but the power struggle between Hamas and
Fatah may now be coming to an end. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had put
pressure on Hamas to come to an agreement with President Abbas. Egypt had
previously threatened they would send soldiers into the Gaza Strip to end
the violence, as Mubarak fears the chaos in Gaza may spill over into Sinai
and destabilize the country. There is also evidence of Palestinian involvement
in the Sinai bombings.
Quote: "According to the report, Hamas was willing to accept the document barring a few minor changes. Sources within the Hamas government said that it would be willing to change make changes within its leadership if it would cause the easing of economic restrictions on the Palestinian Authority. A senior Hamas official within the PA said that if the economic restrictions were not lifted within two months, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh would resign and a technocratic government would be formed. Well now that an agreement may be signed, watch for Abbas pressuring the international community to lift the sanctions on Gaza. Hamas Ministers have recently been caught smuggling tens of millions of Euros through the Rafah border, to try and prop up the terror government. But it's unlikely the money was destined for the hands of the poor Palestinian people. A more likely scenario is, it will end up paying Prime Minister Haniyeh's salary. Hamas recently refused Israel's offer to use unpaid PA tax monies to buy humanitarian and medical aid for the Palestinian people, prompting some Israeli officials to believe that Hamas wants to create a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and blame it on Israel. Instead of spending cash on humanitarian necessities, Hamas is shipping in hundreds of televisions into Gaza so they can watch the world cup. Source Jerusalem Post, Arutz 7 |

Mother of Harlots Pope calls for Protestants to recognize Papal authority 17/6/06 |
Just saw this on Sermon Audio's email bulletin...
In a recent ecumenical appeal, Pope Ratzinger called on Protestant denominations to recognize his Papal authority and proclaim him head over all Christians. The aging Pope stated that promoting "Christian unity" would become his "primary task" during his reign on Peter's chair. There was talk a few years ago that the Church of Ireland, a denomination that has many Roman Catholic trappings, would officially recognize the Pope as their head, but I never heard much more about this. This announcement has angered many Protestant leaders, who view the Pope's authority as unscriptural and antichrist - taking the place of Christ as head of the Church. The Pope, who no longer officially wears a crown, is still proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church as being the Supreme Pontiff - a title once owned by the Roman Emperor himself, and proclaims his universal authority over the entire earth. Quote: "Speaking at his regular audience in St Peter's Square last week, Pope Benedict asserted that Jesus himself had entrusted the leadership of the Church to his apostle Peter. "Peter's responsibility thus consists of guaranteeing the communion with Christ," said Pope Benedict. "Let us pray so that the primacy of Peter, entrusted to poor human beings, may always be exercised in this original sense desired by the Lord, so that it will be increasingly recognised in its true meaning by brothers [sic] who are still not in communion with us." The Roman Catholic Church teaches that the Pope has a leading role among Christians because as bishop of Rome he is successor to the apostle Peter who held this office. It's interesting, although Rome appeals to the Protestant churches for "unity", she will not change her doctrines. Only through Peter's successor, will communion with Christ be "guaranteed". In other words, if you aren't in the Catholic Church, you are going to hell. With the growing strength of the EU on the world stage, and the EU Constitution - which much to the anger of Rome contained no references whatsoever to Europe's "Christian heritage", the Vatican is keen to stamp her authority on the Beast. Next year, the leaders of Europe intend to make a political statement on the EU Constitution, on the anniversary of the Treaty of Rome - the document that started it all. And now with this appeal by the Pope, to "unite" all Christians under one authority, it is clear that Rome desires complete control over the continent. Many Christians believe the symbolism regarding the Mother of Harlots in Revelation 17 closely matches that of the Roman Catholic Church. We are told that when Europe finally unites under one man - the Antichrist, that a Whore Church will ride the Beast. But half way through the tribulation period, the leaders of the ten kingdoms of the Beast will destroy the whore which sits on seven mountains, and burn her with fire. Gog and Magog Iran signs mutual defence pact with Syria 16/6/06 |
Syrian Defence Minister, Hassan Turkmani, and Iranian Defence Minister, Mostafa
Mohammad Najjar, signed a mutual
defence pact, to counter what they view as common threats to both
nations security security. Syria and Iran have come
under intense political pressure over their support for terrorism. Iran is
attempting to acquire nuclear weapons, and is already preparing to face an
Israeli pre-emptive strike within the year. Syria on the other hand, is
under pressure because of its interference in Lebanon, and the assassination
of a high ranking Lebanese politician. Both nations financially and
logistically support terrorist organizations working in the Middle East,
including Hizbullah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Fatah and others. Syria is hoping
to buy Russian and Iranian arms, and wants desperately to upgrade its
1000-strong force of T-72 tanks, and fleet of MiG aircraft. But do not fear,
friends, both nations have stated they are willing to sign a non-aggression
pact with their neighbours (but not with Israel, which both countries refuse
to recognize). The two ministers specifically named the threat they wish to
counter with this mutual defence pact, Israel.
Quote: ""Our cooperation is based on a strategic pact and unity against common threats. We can have a common front against Israel's threats," Turkmani told reporters Thursday after two intensive rounds of talks with Najjar. "Our cooperation with the Iranians against Israeli threats is nothing secret and we regularly consult about this with our friends," he said. According to the London-based Arabic newspaper al-Hayat, the Syrian minister told his Iranian counterpart that his country was interested in purchasing antiaircraft missiles, T-72 tanks, short-range Scud missiles and missile launchers from Tehran. Clearly Syria must also believe a pre-emptive strike is very close, and wants to get in the action. And they will alright, and whether it happens within the year, or during the tribulation period, Damascus will become rubble, and 5/6ths of Gog's Islamic army will be wiped off the face of the map. Waters made bitter Russia to build first floating nuclear plant by 2010 16/6/06 |
Russia is pressing ahead with plans to build the world's first floating
nuclear power station. Russia is planning to build six of the floating
nuclear plants, and expects to have the first one operational by the year
2010. The world is running short on oil, and countries like Russia and the
UK have found that if current rates of electrical consumption continue, they
will need to start relying more on nuclear power to meet the demand. British
Prime Minister Tony Blair has stated that unless Britain builds at least a
dozen nuclear power plants within the next 10 years, the country will face a
severe energy crisis,
causing blackouts in parts of the country.
Quote: "'Last year we asked the question, will the lights stay on? One year on the Government still believes that the market will provide and that renewables and energy conservation will bridge an impossibly large shortfall,' the ICE report says. 'Today, electricity is generated by 35% from coal, 22% from nuclear, 38% from gas, 2% from renewable and 3% from other sources. 'By 2010 that mix will be very different, with coal falling to 17% and nuclear to 16%. Six years is a perilously short time to make good the generation gap.' Some groups have expressed their fears over what might happen if the floating power station was damaged in a storm or by a shipping accident, and spread its deadly radioactive waste throughout the world's oceans. Quote: "The Kremlin has approved the project and a shipyard in the far north of Russia, used to build nuclear submarines, will begin work next year. Rosenergoatom, the country's nuclear power agency, says it intends to build up to six mobile power stations, costing £182m each, the first scheduled for use in 2010. Sergey Kiriyenko, the head of Rosenergoatom, said: "There will be no floating Chernobyl," referring to the 1986 nuclear disaster. Sergey Obozov, a senior official at the agency, said they would be "reliable as a Kalashnikov assault rifle, which are a benchmark of safety." The Bible states that during the tribulation period, some sort of contamination of the world's water supplies will occur. It is believed this star (nuclear reactor) called "Wormwood", may be the nuclear power station in the Ukraine called Chernobyl, which is Ukrainian word for "bitter grass", or "Wormwood". Peace agreement EU announces 2006-2010 animal welfare plan 15/6/06 |
My friend Ed sent me this fascinating link.
The European Union has agreed a new Action Plan to help improve the welfare of animals for the next four years. The EU document, which will be in force until 2010, will upgrade the minimum standards of treatment for animals across Europe. It will also aim to support the protection and welfare of animals world-wide. Quote: "For the period 2006-2010, five main areas of action are set out to meet this objective: upgrading minimum standards for animal welfare; promoting research and alternative approaches to animal testing; introducing standardised animal welfare indicators; better informing animal handlers and the general public on animal welfare issues; and supporting international initiatives for the protection of animals. Detailed background on each area of action is outlined in the Action Plan, in the accompanying impact assessment and Commission working document, along with an indicative timetable for the planned initiatives. The EU currently guarantees the rights of religious Jews to carry out animal sacrifices, even though no actual sacrifices have been carried out since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD. But in the event of the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, Jews according to their Rabbinic teaching, would be required to immediately start the offering of sacrifices for sins. The Bible states that following a peace agreement in the Middle East, the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt and the sacrificial system will be recommenced. According to Daniel's prophecy, in the middle of the seven year tribulation period the Antichrist will cause the sacrificing to cease, and defile the Temple by placing an abomination in it - the "image" of the Beast. The fact that this current Action Plan is up for renewal in 2010, which falls exactly in the middle of the seven year European Neighbourhood Policy "covenant", is quite significant. If after four years Europe decides to upgrade its animal welfare Action Plan again, and consequently outlaws the killing of any animal apart from the production of food, the Jews might just end up with a dilemma. Quote: "The Vice President assured the CER delegation that he regards attempts to restrict Jewish ritual slaughter (shechita) as contraventions of EU law and said he would be contacting the Belgian Interior Minister over the issue following attempts in the Belgian Senate to place restrictions on shechita in Belgium. Daniel 9:27 |

Morals UK will force churches to recognize gays 15/6/06 |
This from my friend James
I probably should have reported on this several weeks ago, since it's been making the rounds in Christian circles quite a lot already. They're estimating the affects of this legislation on civil liberties will be much worse than the controversial Religious Hatred bill the government attempted to introduce last year. A similar law to the Religious Hatred Bill in Australia resulted in the jailing of a pastor giving a seminar on Islam to his own congregation, after a visiting Muslim was offended by what he heard. Thankfully after much prayer that bill was amended by the House of Lords to make it necessary to prove intent to stir up hatred, whereas before someone need only have proven an offence was caused. The British government has already effectively legalized homosexual marriage in this country, and come October 2006, it will become a criminal offence to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation. That may not sound like much, but in practice it means Christians who run a Bed and Breakfast could be brought to court if they refuse accommodation to homosexuals. A Christian printing business could be fined for refusing to print homosexual literature (this has actually already happened in the UK - the owner simply told the men of another business that would print their literature, and they took him to court over it). And churches that believe in the sanctity of marriage could find themselves in court over their refusal to give communion or bless the union of sodomites. All in all, this bill amounts to an attack on the beliefs of law-abiding Christians, Muslims and Jews living in Britain, who don't necessarily discriminate against homosexuality, but believe it is wrong in the sight of God. Quote: "The government's consultation session on the law, which began March 2006 and ended last week June 5th , indicates that Christian churches and individuals will have to sacrifice their religious convictions or face prosecution. According to Anglican Mainstream, "[the Government's] consultation makes it explicit that any discrimination between married heterosexuals and those with Civil Partnerships will be direct discrimination." It will also be illegal for churches to deny homosexuals a venue for "civil partnership ceremonies" or re-affirming civil partnership 'vows', since they offer the same thing for heterosexuals. Under the government's view of services, clergy in the United Kingdom would be required to bless same-sex civil partnerships or face legal action. Under the new Regulations, if a clergyman denied Communion to homosexuals he would have broken the law, since Communion falls under the Government's definition of a service, according to the consultation. Earthquakes 60 earthquakes hit Alaska in 24 hours 14/6/06 |
This from my friend Barbara
Earthquake activity in the Pacific "ring of fire" seems to have dramatically increased this past 24 hours, with around 22 moderate sized (magnitude 4+) earthquakes being reported today so far. Over 60 earthquakes ranging from 2 and upwards on the Richter Scale have all been centred around Alaska. I don't know if this is considered normal or not, but compared to the number of earthquakes listed on the site over the past seven days, it seems phenomenal. Hot Java, anyone? Volcanic activity on Mount Merapi, on the island of Java has also increased, just days after the volcano alert level was lowered. The volcano is now spewing hot gas and clouds into the sky, forcing hundreds of people to flee for safety. Quote: "Hundreds of villagers, some of whom had only just returned from refugee camps, fled their homes on Merapi's slopes. Indonesian authorities again raised the volcano's alert level to its highest status, only a day after it was dropped. It will mean thousands have to be evacuated, a government scientist said. "The status was upgraded at 2 p.m. because of the increasing hot clouds," Triyani, an official at the state volcano monitoring centre, told Reuters news agency. Indonesia has experienced a high level of earthquake activity over the past couple of years. The island of Aceh has been hit numerous times since the major earthquake in December 2004 struck the island, which resulted in the deaths of over 250,000 people. Seismologists had hoped that the Asian earthquake, which was large enough to cause a wobble in earth's orbit, had released much of the pressure that had built up on the tectonic plates. It now appears that the pressure from that earthquake had simply been relocated, and scientists expect that it may be only a matter of time before a major quake hits a large population centre such as San Francisco, killing thousands of people. The Bible predicts that in the last days, the earth would be "moved out of its place", an apparent reference to the earthquake mentioned in Revelation, which is so powerful that it destroys all the great cities of earth (Revelation 16:18) Isaiah 24:18-20 Source US Geological Survey, BBC |

Temple Mount Islamic leader admits Jewish Temples existed 14/6/06 |
A senior leader of the Islamic
Waqf, who was responsible for administering the site of the Al-Aqsa
Mosque which stands on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, has admitted to WorldNetDaily that he believes two Jewish Temples
once stood on the Mount. That belief is contrary to the official Islamic
line which states that no Jewish Temples ever existed on the Mount, in spite of numerous
archeological finds proving otherwise. The leader lost his position in the
Waqf when he revealed his thoughts
to his colleagues, and he speaks on the condition of anonymity for fear of
losing his life. Control of the Temple Mount was
handed over to Jordan after the Israelis captured it during the Six Day War.
The Islamic Waqf destroyed historic artefacts and dumped hundreds of tonnes
of rubble in the Kidron valley during construction of their underground
Mosque where Solomon's Temple once stood. Jewish archaeologists have been sifting through the
rubble, and found many artefacts
including the governmental seal of an official mentioned in the Scriptures
dating from the First Temple era.
Quote: ""I am mentioning historical facts," said the former leader. "I know that the traditional denial about the temple existing at the same place as Al Aqsa is more a political denial. Unfortunately our religious and political leaders chose the option of denial to fight the Jewish position and demands regarding Al Aqsa and taking back the Temple Mount compound. In my opinion we should admit the truth and abandon our traditional position." The leader said his conclusion that the Jewish temples existed does not forfeit what he calls "Islamic rights" to the Temple Mount and Al Aqsa Mosque. "Yes, the temple existed. But now it is the place of the mosque of the religious who came to complete the divine religion [that started with Judaism] and to improve humanity," said the leader. "We believe that Islam is the third and last religion. It came to complete the monotheistic message. The mosque is here at the place of the temple to serve for the same purpose, for the work Allah" Source WorldNetDaily, Temple Mount Faithful |

Wars and rumours of wars Kofi Annan doubts IDF findings on Gaza incident 14/6/06 |
UN Secretary General Kofi
Annan, who apparently approved the display
of a map of the Middle East minus the state of Israel at an official UN
sponsored Arab cultural meeting, is today doubting the veracity of the
claims made by the IDF that Israel was not responsible for the Gaza beach
incident. The reason Kofi Annan gave for his doubts over the Israeli version
of events was not the discovery of Israeli shrapnel from an artillery shell on
the beach, nor was it that a crater from an Israeli artillery shell
explosion had been
found. Rather, Kofi's doubts stem from his belief that Palestinian terrorists could not be so
callous as to plant land mines on a beach that is frequented by their own
people. This faith in the Palestinian terror groups has caused Kofi
Annan to call for an "independent" inquiry to carried out on the
site to discover the exact cause of the blast.
Quote: "UN Secretary General Kofi Annan also doubted the IDF committee’s conclusions. "The Israeli claim that the beach blast was caused by an explosive charge at the site sounds strange to me. I don't believe it is plausible that the Palestinians planted charges in a place where civilians often spend their time," Annan told the London-based Al-Hayat daily. But don't blame Kofi, he's just the head of an global organization that is riddled with anti-Semitism. According to BBC correspondent Nick Childs, it may not even matter who was responsible. Not because all the misunderstanding by the international community has been forgiven by Israel, but because in the eyes of the BBC and the UN, Israel is to blame no matter who is responsible. Childs' comments reveal the deep-seated bias against the Jewish state that exists within the news media. Quote: "The speed with which Israel concluded its investigation underlines the sensitivity of the incident - but whether its findings change any minds is another matter, says the BBC's Nick Childs in Jerusalem. Peace process Abbas may dissolve Hamas terror government 13/6/06 |
The escalation in Kassam attacks on Israel continues, after the Hamas
"military wing" - the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade, announced the
end of its "tahdiah". This announcement was publicized on a Hamas
website shortly following the assassination of the Brigade's commander, but
events later that day prompted world news organizations and governments to
launch a scathing attack on Israel for "shelling civilians",
attempting to justify the resumption of Palestinian violence. Now it is more
or less clear Israel was not responsible for the killing of seven
Palestinians on a Gaza beach, yet the Kassams continue to rain down on
Israel, and so far no news organizations have issued an apology to Israel or
explained why they got the report so wrong in the first place. In reality it
shows the bias of the world media, who do not bother to validate the
Palestinian claims for themselves so long as their own anti-Israel agenda is
furthered. Meanwhile, President Abbas is considering dissolving
the Hamas government within the next few weeks, if the security situation
(not attacks against Israel, but Palestinian in-fighting) continues to
decline.
Quote: "In a last-ditch effort to prevent further escalations, Abbas will head to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday for talks with Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to discuss a proposal by faction leaders jailed in Israel calling for peace with Israel. Should this round of talks fail, Abbas will suspend the Hamas government and declare a state of emergency. Hamas has also forced its signatories to the "National Reconciliation Document" to retract their approval of the "peace" document. If Abbas continues with the referendum on the proposal to create a Palestinian state, which reportedly around 77% of Palestinians are in favour of, Hamas may find itself once again politically sidelined. But Abbas is politically weak, and I suspect he may end up making some sort of agreement with Hamas rather than face civil war. Source YNet News |

Wars and rumours of wars Israel will not determine cause of Gaza beach incident 13/6/06 |
The committee appointed by the Israeli government to investigate the direct
cause of the Gaza
beach tragedy, in which seven members of a Palestinian family were
killed by an explosion, will not now apparently reach a formal conclusion.
The group will instead report that there are slim chances the IDF were
responsible for the blast. This is despite worldwide condemnation of Israel
by both governments and news organizations such as the BBC, directly
accusing Israel of "shelling civilians". The Palestinian Authority
has actively hindered Israel's investigation of the incident, and it is now
believed the explosion may have actually been caused by land mines which
were prepared by Palestinian terrorists who believed Israel was ready to
mount a beach landing from a naval vessel off the coast. As some of you have
pointed out, the liberal media just happened to be at the scene with their
cameras rolling to capture this "massacre"
on tape. What a stroke of luck.
Quote: "According to photos taken by the IDF, a crater characteristic of an artillery shell strike was not formed at the scene of the blast, and Palestinian accounts of the exact time location of the shelling reinforce the estimation that the IDF was not involved in the incident. The last IDF shell was fired eight minutes before the Ralia family was struck, and the army also obtained intelligence information pointing to the possibility that terror groups placed bombs at the scene which were meant to target special forces that may storm the beach. I can't help but wonder why Israel will not explicitly say it was not responsible for the massacre. Is it to save the face of the liberal media and world governments, who didn't bother to check their sources before reporting a story that was concocted by the Palestinian intifada? And why did Defence Minister Peretz apologize to Abbas for something Israel was not responsible for? It seems they are prepared to do anything to achieve "peace", including denying justice to the residents of Sderot and the Palestinians themselves. Source YNet News, Little Green Footballs |

Wars and rumours of wars Possible scenarios for Gaza beach incident 11/6/06 |
It seems there is mounting evidence
that the Gaza beach explosion, which tragically killed a family of seven
Palestinians and left one child critically injured, may not have been the
result of an IDF artillery shell. Both my friends Deirdre and Barbara sent
me links on this (thanks), after reading the previous article comparing YNet
News reports to statements issued by the BBC. Palestinian officials have so
far refused to confirm the exact time and location of the explosion, and
there have been reports that Hamas officials removed debris from the scene
which would have helped establish the cause of the blast. Israel is
continuing its investigation into the deaths of the seven Palestinians, and
has confirmed the locations of all but one of six artillery shells it fired
into the region on that day.
Quote: "It should be noted that immediately after the tragic explosion, Palestinian gunmen, among them Hamas members, arrived on the scene even before Palestinian security forces. The IDF said the operatives were seen combing the area, as if looking for evidence. This may strengthen the theory that organization member planted mines or explosives at the site. The IDF noted the poor cooperation from the Palestinian side in investigating the occurrence, which raises questions on whether they are withholding information. Another possibility of an “intra-Palestinian incident” is what is generally defined as a work accident, i.e., an explosive prepared for use against Israel detonated prematurely. This option, however, does not seem likely because the blast occurred on the beach. Meanwhile, world news organizations and governments continue to blame Israel for the shelling of innocent civilians, despite no clear proof that the IDF is responsible for the deaths. I've sent an email to my MP, Lady Hermon, asking if the British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett will be willing to retract her statement if it is proven that Israel was not to blame. Unfortunately the Palestinian terror groups are waging their "intifada" through the mainstream press, and as Christians we need to make sure we, along with those who represent us, stand up for the truth. Quote: "The French Foreign Ministry slammed Israel for being “disproportionate” in its response to aggression against Israelis. Egypt said Israel’s behaviour was “unacceptable” and had contravened international law. British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett repeated the lie-as-fact when she issued a statement expressing her government’s concern over the killings Friday. “We are deeply concerned by reports of the deaths from Israeli shelling of civilians, including children, on a Gaza beach this afternoon,” she said. “The killing of innocent civilians is utterly unacceptable and we urge the Israelis to undertake an investigation into this incident. I will raise this with my Israeli counterpart when I see her on Monday." Source YNet News, Jerusalem Newswire |

Wars and rumours of wars 19 Kassams yesterday, 14 today 11/6/06 |
Sorry I didn't update yesterday, was sick. Feeling better today.
The terror group Hamas continued to bombard Israeli towns with Kassam rockets yesterday and today, after the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade officially announced an end to its cease fire. Nineteen rockets were fired at Israel yesterday, and fourteen have been counted so far this morning. One rocket landed in a school in Sderot, critically injuring a school worker. Two other teachers had to be treated for shock when the rocket landed next to first grade classrooms. Parents have rushed to take their children home from school, and the teachers have gone on strike to try and protect the pupils from these attacks. The BBC's report on this attack failed to mention the number of rockets that have so far been fired at Israel and the fact that a school was hit, only stating that a number of Kassams were launched in retaliation for Friday's "massacre" and one person was wounded. Quote: "Four rockets landed in the Sderot area, one rocket falling inside an elementary school and another landing nearby. As a result, the building suffered damage. One man was lightly injured and was evacuated to the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, where his condition deteriorated and he was rushed into surgery in critical condition. He is suffering from a shock wave and shrapnel in his stomach. Two other people were treated for shock on the scene of the attack. Meanwhile, the IDF are continuing their investigation into exactly what happened in the Gaza beach incident, and expect to be able to make an announcement on their findings on Tuesday. They have so far ruled out a Navy and IAF strike, but are looking into whether a stray artillery shell caused the explosion, or if it might have been caused by a Palestinian "work incident". But they needn't count on the Palestinian Authority for help... Quote: "A Palestinian security source said Sunday that Hamas operatives had cleared the debris from the explosion which killed seven Palestinian civilians on Friday in order to frustrate the IDF's attempts to investigate the incident. The PA's unwillingness to aid Israel in discovering the true cause of the blast, along with similar claims yesterday by Palestinian "security officials" that the cause of another blast was an Israeli attack, is why I remain highly skeptical about this whole affair. But world governments have already jumped the gun, including Britain's new Foreign Minister, Margaret Beckett, in calling for Israel to end the violence. Quote: "A Palestinian rocket that went off prematurely caused an explosion Saturday in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian security officials said. Initially, the officials said the explosion was caused by an Israeli air strike, but later recanted their statement. The army said it had not carried out a missile strike in Gaza. Wars and rumours of wars Hamas "armed wing" ends truce with Israel 9/6/06 |
The Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade, the armed wing of the terrorist organization
Hamas, has declared an end to their temporary calm, after Israel
assassinated the group's leader, Jamal Abu Samhadana, with a laser guided
missile. No comment has been made by the Hamas leadership about what it intends to do.
Members of Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade have stated that they plan to launch
attacks against all of Israel including Tel Aviv, and that no Jew will be
left alive in Palestine...
Now for a spot the difference competition. These two reports from YNet News and the BBC both deal with announcement regarding the end of the Hamas "truce". But can you see what's different about the BBC's version of events? Look very carefully (email me if you spot this yourself)... Quote: "Earlier Friday, a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees vowed on Friday to avenge the killing of the group's leader, killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza on Thursday and promised "there will be no Jews left in Palestine." "The Palestinian resistance will plant death everywhere the Jews go. We will bring death to the streets of Tel Aviv and all the cities of the Zionist enemy until Islam prevails," Mohammad Abu Al, nicknamed Abu Abir, told Ynet. The spokesman admitted the assassination dealt a blow to the group as Samhadana masterminded most attacks carried out over the last decade. Quote: "In a statement on its website, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade said Israeli "massacres" had spurred the decision. Seven people, including three children, died on Friday when Israeli shells hit a beach in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian officials say. There was no immediate comment from Hamas's political wing, which runs the Palestinian Authority. Hamas's armed wing posted a message on its website and distributed leaflets declaring the end of a ceasefire that had held since February 2005. Can't see the difference? Have another look... YNet News states that the Palestinian "truce" ended with the assassination of their commander, Samhadana. The BBC's version of events states that the truce ended after it was believed IDF shells killed seven civilians on a beach north of Gaza. The IDF have not yet confirmed if these shells were fired by them. Both very different reasons, and the BBC clearly slanting its stories against Israel once again, for maximum Palestinian sympathy. Now don't get me wrong, if the IDF did kill seven civilians on a beach north of Gaza, whether by accident or intent, that is terrible, and as a Christian I hope those who did this are brought to justice. But I am not inclined to believe the Palestinian version of events offhand, due to the large number of Kassam rockets being launched into Israel. The IDF has also been blamed for killings by the mainstream media before, which were later discovered to have been carried out by Palestinians themselves. This from the Jerusalem Post, on a similar event that occurred a few days ago. Quote: "A Kassam rocket was fired from northern Gaza into Israel on Wednesday afternoon, but the rocket landed in the sea. There were no reports of damage or injuries. The IDF responded by shelling Kassam launch sites in northern Gaza. Source YNet News, BBC, Jerusalem Post |

Dividing the land Abbas announces referendum date 31st July 9/6/06 |
President Abbas has announced the date he intends to hold a referendum
on the "National Reconciliation Document", an 18 point plan drawn
up by jailed Palestinian terror leaders calling for the creation of a
Palestinian state on land captured during the Six Day War. Hamas has so far
failed to approve the document, and as a result President Abbas intends to
hold a referendum on the 31st of July. Abbas has called for the European
Union to help in organizing the event. A recent poll showed that 77% of the
Palestinians are in favour of this agreement. Meanwhile, the BBC, along with
possibly every other mainstream news organization, continues to put their
own anti-Israel spin on the document...
Quote: "It implicitly recognises Israel by setting out formal Palestinian claims to an independent state on land occupied by Israel in 1967. The document also calls for continued resistance within lands occupied by Israel in 1967, suggesting that attacks inside internationally-recognised Israel would end. The question is, who is suggesting that attacks inside Israel will end? And I'll give you a clue, it's not the Palestinians... Quote: "3- the right of the Palestinian people in resistance (suicide bombings) and clinging to the option of resistance with the various means and focusing the resistance in the occupied territories of 1967 alongside with the political action and negotiations and diplomatic action and continuation of popular and mass resistance against the occupation in its various forms and policies and making sure there is broad participation by all sectors and masses in the popular resistance. Since when did "focusing the resistance" mean attacks in "internationally-recognized Israel" will end? Again the BBC tries to tell its readers how to interpret this document. You've got to shine your pro-Palestinian light on it, and then start reading between the lines. Oh, and ignore the bits about "resistance", as the BBC doesn't report on Kassam rocket attacks anymore... This document does not implicitly recognize Israel at all. It neither recognizes Israel's right to exist as the BBC had previously erroneously reported, nor guarantees the Jewish nation that there won't be a third intifada after Israel withdraws from all lands captured during the Six Day War... How do I know that? Straight from the horse's mouth... Quote: ""Hamas has announced that it accepts a Palestinian independent state within the 1967 borders with a long-term truce," Sheikh Hassan Yousef, the top Hamas leader in the West Bank, told The Associated Press, referring to lands Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war. Yousef said the Hamas position was new and called it a "stage." In the past, Hamas has said it would accept a state in the 1967 borders as a first step to taking over Israel. Yousef did not spell out the conditions for the renewable cease-fire nor did he say how long it would last. "For us a truce means that two warring parties live side by side in peace and security for a certain period and this period is eligible for renewal," Yousef said. "That means Hamas accepts that the other party will live in security and peace." Source BBC, Jerusalem Media and Communication Centre, Israel News Agency |

Gog and Magog Russia warns Israel not to strike Iran 9/6/06 |
Russia has sent a message to Israel warning the Jewish state not to strike
Iran's nuclear facilities. The message was sent through Washington, and
warned of a military
conflagration that could spill over into Islamic parts of Russia and
Chechnya. International analysts have said that Iran could acquire nuclear
weapons in five to ten years, but Israeli intelligence believes Iran could
be capable of producing a nuclear bomb by 2007 or 2008. It was recently
reported by an anonymous Lebanese source that Iran believes Israel will
strike its nuclear facilities within a year, and is already preparing for
retaliatory strikes against Israel, and Western interests in the
region.
Quote: "According to assessments reaching Jerusalem, while the Russians don't want to see Iran get the bomb, they believe this may still be a decade away and that in the meantime diplomatic efforts might succeed in keeping Teheran from reaching that point. Moscow is concerned any military conflagration would eventually spill over the Russian-Iranian border into the Caucasus, central Asia and even Chechnya, and be detrimental to Russian interests. Washington, according to these assessments, does not believe that Russian opposition to UN Security Council sanctions against Iran is motivated by anti-American sentiment, but rather by the belief that a military action in Iran would severely destabilize the region. Even discounting the worldwide Islamic backlash to a "Jewish" strike on Iran, Russia would also suffer considerably due to the nation's heavy involvement in Iran's nuclear programme. The IAEA recently reported that Iran has started a new wave of Uranium enrichment, dashing hopes of the acceptance of the deal presented by Javier Solana earlier in the week. Quote: "Attacking Iranian nuclear facilities also has the potential of igniting a diplomatic crisis between the United States and Russia. The Russian Federation is not only Iran's foremost supplier of nuclear technology and training, it is reported that hundreds of Russian scientists and technicians currently work in Bushehr. A pre-emptive attack on Bushehr may kill a large number of Iranian and Russian personnel; the ensuing diplomatic crisis could seriously affect not only Russian-U.S. trade but also cooperation on international matters, including the war on terrorism. Volcanism Volcanoes erupting in Japan and Indonesia 8/6/06 |
Two volcanoes in the Pacific "ring of fire" look set to erupt
within the next few days. One volcano in Japan, Mount
Sakurajima, sent a plume of ash 3000 feet into the sky today. Tens of
thousands of people have been evacuated from the island of Java, Indonesia,
after a volcano on the island of Java, Mount
Merapi, started spewing lava flows in various directions, and belching
clouds of ash and gas. The volcano was already showing increased activity
when an earthquake struck the island a few months ago.
Quote: "Scientists fear the volcano, which has been showing signs of erupting since early May, has been further destabilised by an earthquake nearby. The quake, which struck near the ancient city of Yogyakarta two weeks ago, killed 6,200 people. A major humanitarian operation is under way to help survivors, but local and international agencies are also aware they may have to face the possibility of a second disaster not far away, on the slopes of Merapi. Earthquake activity around Indonesia has been at a high level since the Asian earthquake in 2004, where over 250,000 people were killed when a tsunami slammed into the coasts of a dozen nations. Scientists had hoped that quake would have released pressure in the tectonic plates of the earth's crust, causing a drop in the number of earthquakes being created. But now it looks like the pressure that was released during the Asian quake is just building up elsewhere. "Moderate" earthquakes (5-6 on the Richter scale) are so numerous now that news agencies no longer report them unless there are casualties involved. Increased earthquake activity is a sign that we are living in the end times, as many Scriptures throughout the Bible confirm. Joel 2:10-11 |

New World Order Bilderberg gathering planned for Ottawa today 8/6/06 |
Rumours are abounding on the internet that the top secret global government
organization, called the Bilderberg
group, may be meeting in a hotel in Katana, Ottawa today. The
Bilderberg group, which boasts members from national governments (including
Prime Minister Tony Blair, Conservative Ken Clarke, former UK Secretary of
Defence George Robertson and Javier Solana, the High Representative for the
European Common Foreign and Defence policy), world bankers and
intellectuals, meet annually in complete secrecy to discuss international
politics. When members enter the meeting, they are told they do so as
"global citizens" and that whatever position they hold in the
outside world has no bearing in the gathering. This enables world leaders to
remain unaccountable to their electorate for what was discussed when they
return home. No minutes are taken at the meeting, and only a verbal
consensus is agreed by the elite group.
Quote: "There is enough leakage from past conferences to determine generally what is discussed, he said. "There is pretty much a preoccupation with the Middle East and oil at most of the meetings," he said. "The whole idea is to meet a consensus, but it is a fairly narrow consensus. Most of the banking power in the western world is behind Bilderberg policy, and particularly their energy policies." UK Defence Secretary George Robertson was quizzed by MPs in the House of Commons when he used public money to attend a Bilderberg meeting in Scotland with Javier Solana, then NATO Secretary General. George Robertson, who was later to become NATO Secretary General himself, refused to disclose details to the House of Commons on the trip. Quote: "A search of the British House of Parliament's "Commons Written Answers" revealed an interesting recent example of how Bilderberg attendees protect the Group's secrecy. On July 10, 1998, Conservative Party member Christopher Gill inquired: "To ask the Secretary of State for Defense what mode of transport he used to attend the recent Bilderberg meeting at Turnberry; and what was the cost to public funds." [46988] Defense Secretary George Robertson responded: "I flew to Scotland on Friday 14 May in an aircraft of the RAF Communications Fleet, accompanied by the Secretary General of NATO, Snr. Solana. I left the following day in an Army helicopter for a further official engagement. The estimated value of the use of Departmental assets for these flights is £3,840." Peace process Turkish Prime Minister addresses Knesset 7/6/06 |
Israel continues to court its enemies, in what is looking like a determined
attempt to broaden consensus in the division God's land. Prime Minister
Olmert visited Egyptian President Mubarak and King Abdullah II of Jordan
within the past seven days. Today, Turkish
Prime Minister Ahmet Necdet Sezer addressed the Israeli Knesset. Former
Prime Minister Shimon Peres praised Turkey's relations with Israel, and said
they were a model for stability in the Middle East.
Quote: "“In your time, Mr. President, the tradition of good relations between the Turks and the Jews continues,” Peres said. “During your tenure as president, the legislative court has been uncompromising in ascertaining civilian rights, and you pushed advancing our relations so they wouldn’t focus only on military matters, but civilian matters as well. “Throughout the years our peoples have been in a special place – not in the conflict club but in a state of cooperation. The Turkish government wants a role in negotiations for peace. Israeli tourists prefer Turkey over every other country – and I believe they have chosen well. We pray that tourism wins,” Peres added. There is no doubt Turkey does enjoy relatively good relations with Israel. But those relations have been strained of late, as the Muslim nation drifts politically towards Iran. Both Turkey and Iran signed a security pact earlier this year aimed at wiping out Kurdish rebels that trouble both countries. Six days previous to that pact being made, Turkey became one of the first states to recognize the Hamas government in inviting the newly elected Palestinian Authority for talks. This is from Arutz 7 on the 19th of February. Quote: "Hamas chief Meshal believes that he can gain the world's acceptance of the group without renouncing terrorism or accepting Israel's right to exist. "We want the world, and especially the countries in the West, to understand us, to understand Hamas well, to understand the will of the Palestinian people, the national goals of Hamas and the Palestinian people," he told reporters in flight from Turkey to Syria. As I have said before, I can't help but think of King Hezekiah when I read of Shimon Peres addressing his Turkish colleagues. Hezekiah was rebuked by the prophet when he invited a Babylonian delegation to visit his palace. Jeremiah said that all the possessions of the palace they saw with their eyes would be carried away into Babylon. So it is with Israel today. Their leaders are no longer interested in the God of Jacob, the Messiah of Israel, and the Holy Torah. As a result of their spiritual blindness the nation will suffer unspeakable horrors during the tribulation period. The Bible states in Ezekiel 38-39, that Turkey will be one of several Islamic nations that will war against Israel in the latter days, though they will be destroyed by Divine intervention. |

Wars and rumours of wars Solana clinches US compromise on Iran nukes 7/6/06 |
Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, shaking hands with Mottaki that, when questioned by a journalist over Israel's call for sanctions to be placed on Iran, replied, "What country is that? There is no such country". , the Iranian Foreign Minister, on his 3 day trip to the Middle East... This is the sameJavier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, presented his package of "incentives" to the Iranian government in Teheran yesterday. Although the package has not yet been made public, some of the details on what the 6 world powers have offered Iran has been leaked to the press. Iranian officials initially expressed optimism over the deal, although stating they need time to analyse the details and will come to a decision by the end of the month. If Iran accepts the agreement, Europe will provide Iran with light-water nuclear power stations, and the fuel to run them. The US, in a major climb-down from it's previous position (thanks to Solana?), has agreed to give Iran nuclear technology, lift sanctions that prevent the sale of aircraft to the state, and permit a limited enrichment of Uranium on Iranian soil. The EU had also promised various "security incentives" if Iran gave up its Uranium enrichment programme, although it was not revealed what this would entail. Quote: "In another concession, Iran would be allowed to carry out uranium conversion, a precursor to enrichment, if it agrees to multination talks, said the diplomats. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to divulge the contents of the offer made by six countries to Teheran Tuesday in a bid to defuse the Iranian nuclear standoff. Such changes to long-standing international demands on enrichment are important, because they signal possible readiness to accept some limited form of the activity, despite fears that it can be misused to make the fissile core of nuclear warheads. Quote: ""We are basically now saying that over the long haul, if they restore confidence, that this Iranian regime can have enrichment at home," said one US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "But they have to answer every concern given all that points to a secret weapons program." I don't get it. What does the rest of the world actually get out of this deal? "Iran's word" that it isn't attempting to build a nuclear bomb? For it seems that Solana's deal with Iran, if accepted will strengthen the Islamic state financially and militarily, and boost their knowledge of nuclear technology. A state that previously called for Israel to be wiped off the map will have the world at its mercy. Iran is and will continue to use the threat of nuclear weapons to ensure it has its way in the Middle East. If Israel decides to strike Iran, which is trying to develop nuclear weapons, the nation may end up having to deal with the consequences by themselves, facing the wrath of Gog and his armies while the international community looks on. Peace process 77 percent of Palestinians support "peace" plan 7/6/06 |
The European Union has welcomed the delay proposed by Palestinian leader,
Mahmoud Abbas, giving Hamas until the end of the week before making the
decision to call for a referendum. The "National
Reconciliation Document", the new name being given to the 18 point
plan drawn up by Hamas and Fatah prisoners, calls for the creation of a
Palestinian state on land captured during the Six Day War. It also calls for
the "convergence" of all terrorist groups under the Palestinian
Liberation Organization, headed by Mahmoud Abbas, and for concentrated
"resistance" (read "suicide bombings") against Israelis
living Judea and Samaria. According to a recent poll, the plan has the
support of 77% of the Palestinian population. The poll also revealed support
for Hamas is waning, with only 37% stating they would vote for the terrorist
organization in new elections.
Quote: "The European Union said Tuesday it welcomed Abbas' decision to give the Hamas-led government three more days to back the document. EU spokeswoman Emma Udwin said the EU welcomes dialogue between Abbas and the Hamas-led government. Udwin said while the EU wants the Hamas government to tone down its anti-Israel views and engage in dialogue with Abbas, it will not getting involved in how the two sides end their discord. "How that dialogue is conducted is a matter for the Palestinians, not us," said Udwin. The plan, of course, is completely unacceptable to Israel, as it would mean handing back all land captured from Jordan during the Six Day War, including the Temple Mount and all of east Jerusalem. President Abbas has previously stated that he will not leave one stone from the Jewish settlements remaining on land captured during the Six Day War. It's interesting to see how keen the EU is that this plan should be adopted by the Palestinians. Now all we need now is a man of "peace" to help broker this agreement. Source Haaretz |

Peace process Abbas gives Hamas 3 days, asks EU for help 6/6/06 |
President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority has extended his
deadline regarding the approval of the "peace
plan" that was drawn up by the Hamas and Fatah leadership, that
calls for the creation of the Palestinian state on land captured during the
Six Day War. Following Abbas' meeting with Javier Solana, yesterday, he has
called for European assistance to help organize the referendum and provide
support in carrying it out.
Quote: "Abbas told reporters after meeting with Solana that he would not accept any changes to the prisoners' document. "If anyone wants to amend this document, then we will not reach any results," he said. "The referendum is not an end, but a means to end the crisis with Hamas." One of his aides said Abbas asked for European help in organizing the referendum, including financial aid and logistics. Friends, this could be us. If Javier Solana is the man - the prince of the people that destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD, he will be successful in implementing a peace accord between Arabs and Jews, according to Daniel's prophecy. It may take weeks or months, but there is no doubt the pressure is on, and things are clearly hotting up in the Middle East as regards Bible prophecy. But Javier Solana is not the only one now pressing for peace. Prime Minister Olmert is currently conducting a tour of the Middle East, seeking peace with Israel's ancient enemies. On Sunday he visited Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and on Thursday the Prime Minister intends to meet with the king of the Ammonites, Abdullah II of Jordan. Quote: "Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will visit Jordan Thursday for talks on reviving the stalled Mideast peace process, Jordanian and Israeli officials said Tuesday. Olmert will meet with Jordan's King Abdullah II during his visit of several hours, Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh told The Associated Press. I was surprised to read the following comments on the Arutz 7 website regarding the Palestinian "peace" document, for it is exactly what I have been saying for some weeks now. Once the Palestinian people adopt this document - and they will approve it for the sake of calm between Hamas and Fatah, the international community will press Israel into adopting the document as the basis for future negotiations - and Europe, in accordance with Biblical prophecy, will be the main backer. Quote: "(IsraelNN.com) GSS head Yuval Diskin believes that some of the international community will adopt the “prisoners’ plan,” a document composed by five jailed leading Arab terrorists (including Barghouti) if it receives majority support. PA Chairman Abu Mazen is presenting the plan to his people in a referendum. In response to a question from MK Avraham Ravitz, Diskin stated, “America will not accept this document, similar to our standpoint.” However, he believes Europe will see it in a positive light. Principalities and powers Knesset camera captures "white ghost" in empty building 6/6/06 |
Well I said I wouldn't be reporting anything strange on 06/06/06, but this
certainly is strange. I'm not quite sure what to make of it myself,
especially falling on such an auspicious date. No, not the "666
date", but on the eve of the feast of Shavuot - commemorating the
giving of the law. Knesset security personnel were alerted to the presence
of an intruder in the Israeli parliament a few days ago. No Knesset members
were in the building at the time. When they checked the security cameras,
they saw what they believed to be a white
ghostly image that seemed to be hovering above the emergency exit. They
have proposed a number of different explanations for this, including the
possibility of a white piece of plastic getting trapped on the camera lens,
giving the appearance of a ghostly shape.
Quote: "A few days ago, the Knesset's alarm system, designed to prevent unwanted intruders, was triggered. Security guards dispatched to the place did not find a thing, but were amazed when they checked security cameras: On the screen, a figure of a "white ghost: was visible, lightly floating over the emergency exit." The incident took place on the eve of the holiday of Shavuot: During that time there were no Knesset members or employees in the building. At first, the Knesset's guards thought that a floating plastic bag was the culprit, but this theory did not explain why the electronic alarm system was triggered. I can't help but think of the accounts written by Josephus and recorded in the Jewish Talmud, describing the supernatural events surrounding the destruction of the second Temple in 70 AD. After the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Temple priests found doors in the Temple opened of their own accord during the night and the lamp that was in the Temple, which was meant to burn continuously, would no longer stay lit. There were other reports of priests hearing voices, and then the sound of many feet rushing out of the Temple, and the Temple gates opening by themselves. Some interpreted these events as signalling God's removal of the protection of His angelic host from the Temple before its subsequent destruction in 70 AD. And of course in the Scriptures we have the account of the Temple veil, which was 60 feet wide, 20 feet high and several inches thick, being torn from the top to the bottom. Quote: "Thus also, before the Jewish rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus [Nisan] and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day-time; which light lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskilful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it. At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was being led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple. Moreover, the eastern gate of the inner, [court of the temple,] which was of brass, and vastly heavy, and had been with difficulty shut by twenty men, and rested upon a basis armed with iron, and had bolts fastened very deep into the firm floor, which was there made of one entire stone, was seen to be opened of its own accord about the sixth hour of the night. Now, those that kept watch in the temple came thereupon running to the captain of the temple, and told him of it; who then came up thither, and not without great difficulty was able to shut the gate again. This also appeared to the vulgar to be a very happy prodigy, as if God did thereby open them the gate of happiness. But the men of learning understood it, that the security of their holy house was dissolved of its own accord, and that the gate was opened for the advantage of their enemies. So these publicly declared, that this signal foreshewed the DESOLATION that was coming upon them” - (IV,5,3). Could these events in the Knesset last week, if spiritual, signal that the events spoken of in Scripture regarding the end times will shortly come to pass? Dividing the land Solana: More EU cash for Palestinians in '06 5/6/06 |
Javier Solana, the High Representative of the European Common, Foreign and
Security Policy, met with Mahmoud Abbas this morning, just before the
President made the final decision to call for a referendum on the
"peace" document. If you are wondering what Solana said to Abbas,
wonder no more. There is no doubt Javier Solana's subsequent announcement
that the EU would give yet more
cash to Palestinians this year than compared to last, had a big bearing
on Abbas' decision to press ahead with the referendum plan. The EU spends
over 600 million Euros on the Palestinians annually, and if Abbas wants to
see that aid continue, he had better play by EU rules.
Quote: "Solana said European officials were still working on a mechanism to allow humanitarian aid to reach the Palestinians while bypassing the Hamas-led government. "The EU continues to be the most important donor to the Palestinians. More money is being given in the year 2006 than 2005," he said at a joint news conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. "We will not let the Palestinians down." Meanwhile, every mainstream news organization continues to construe this "peace" document to imply that by voting for the creation of a Palestinian state on land captured during the Six Day War, they will by implication be voting to recognize Israel's "right to exist". This from the Biased Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC. Quote: "Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has confirmed he will call a referendum on his plan for statehood that implicitly recognises Israel's right to exist. A date for the referendum is due to be announced on Tuesday. The move was announced as efforts to persuade the Hamas government to accept the idea of a Palestinian state co-existing with Israel failed. Hamas does not recognise Israel, and has already said any referendum would be illegal. This, as myself and others are pointing out, is utter baloney. The 18 point plan neither recognizes Israel's right to exist, nor calls for an end to violence against the Jewish state. In fact the document doesn't even mention Israel once. So much for a "two state" solution. When an overwhelming number of Palestinians vote for this document, it will not be a vote for peace, or a vote for recognition of the state of Israel, rather it will be a vote to continue doing what they have done for the past 60 years - fighting a war of attrition against the Jews. This from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy... Quote: "On the surface, the national accord may seem like a step toward moderation, since the first of its eighteen points affirms the “right to establish an independent state with holy Jerusalem as its capital on all the territories occupied in 1967.” Theoretically, accepting such a state in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem is de facto recognition of Israel as a state within its pre-1967 borders. But while Abbas may have referred to giving up “dreams” in his speech to the national dialogue conference, there is no explicit statement in the accord that establishing a state within the pre-1967 borders would end Palestinian claims over Israeli territory. In fact, vagueness on two critical points of the document suggest that it can also be viewed as another iteration of the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) 1974 phased plan that declared a willingness to accept the establishment of a national authority in any part of historic Palestine as a step toward “completing the liberation of all Palestinian territory”: The Israelis are at pains to express their views that this document is an internal matter for the Palestinians, and I understand why. As I have said before, and as we are seeing now, once this document is voted on and approved by the Palestinian people, the world media and international community will do their best to ensure Israel signs up to this covenant with hell, and if they don't, Israel will be portrayed once again as the aggressor, not prepared to make peace with their Palestinian neighbours. Dividing the land IDF warns of coming clash with Palestinians 5/6/06 |
The Israeli Defence Forces are preparing to present their new five year plan
to the government within the next few months. The document details the
threats Israel may face for the period 2006-2011, and warns of increasing
conflict with the Palestinians, and states that Prime Minister Olmert's
"convergence" plan will do nothing to ease tensions in the
troubled region. The IDF's intelligence sources believe that Hamas will not
compromise with Israel, and as a result Israel will face an escalation in
Palestinian terror in the next few years.
Quote: "According to the assessment, army intelligence officials believe Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's ambitious plan to withdraw from large parts of the West Bank will not do anything to decrease the scope of daily violence in the region. Instead, the army is moving forward based on a working plan that it is nearing another round of bloody violence with the Palestinians. "The Palestinian society has chosen a path in which there is no compromise," a senior officer said, referring to the recent victory by Hamas in legislative elections. Former Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, had hoped to bring a measure of peace to Israel by withdrawing from the Gaza Strip. He promised there would be no more unilateral disengagements by Israel until the Palestinian violence ended. I still don't understand what Prime Minister Olmert hopes to achieve by disengaging from Judea and Samaria. He certainly won't be achieving peace as this report shows, and without negotiations with the PA, the international community will not recognize Israel's final borders. The Bible makes it clear, settlements in Judea and east Jerusalem will remain a thorn in the flesh for the Palestinians and the world, even after 2010. Zechariah 12:2-3 Source Jerusalem Post |

Peace Process Abbas to call referendum on Tuesday 4/6/06 |
Hamas Prime Minister, Ismael Haniyeh, has called the proposed Palestinian referendum
by Abbas "illegal", and discounted the 10 day ultimatum President
Abbas had given to Hamas to approve his peace document, nevertheless it
seems Abbas is preparing to announce a referendum this Tuesday. This news
was released by Chairman Azzam al-Ahmed of the Palestinian Legislative
Council. Mahmoud Abbas has also threatened to call early elections if Hamas
continues to defy his presidential authority. The 18 point document drafted
by jailed Palestinian terrorists in Israel calls for the convergence of all
Palestinian terror groups under the authority of the PLO, headed by Abbas. I
was previously under the impression Hamas would have no issues signing up to
this deal, for it does not call for recognition of Israel or an end to
terror, but I think the issue they may have with it now could be down to the
power struggle that is going on between Hamas and Fatah.
Quote: "A senior Fatah official, also close to Abbas, said that there is little chance that Abbas will extend the ultimatum given to the Palestinian factions to end the discussions. "There is no extension, unless we receive within the next few hours new information that indicates a possibility of reaching an understanding on the matter and avoid the referendum, but so far it seems that Hamas is not interested in reaching an agreement. We don't know what they want; it looks as though all that matters to them are slogans and sermons in mosques," he said. My friend Jim tells me that Javier Solana just happens to be visiting both Israel Prime Minister Olmert and Palestinian President Abbas on Monday, before this referendum will be announced. Solving both the Middle East impasse and the Iranian nuclear crisis in the same week would certainly boost Solana's reputation with the international community. Revelation 13:4 |

Mark of the Beast The world goes mad for 6/6/06 4/6/06 |
Sorry, I'm only going to devote one article to this superstitious nonsense.
When Tuesday comes, there won't be a whisper from me about 666, the devil or
the Antichrist (apart from Solana who will be in Teheran). Apparently there
is a town called Hell around 100km west of Detroit, and town Mayor, John
Colone, is planning to host various devilish festivities on Tuesday the 6th
of June, 2006 (06/06/06).
Colone is hoping that he won't draw crowds of actual devil worshippers, but
is going to be making the most of that day, who's date identifies with the
number of the Beast in the book of Revelation. Hollywood is also planning to
make the most of the 06/06/06 date, releasing the Omen film, which is a
satanic film about the birth of a baby they call the Antichrist, who has a
666 mark behind its ear.
Quote: "Nobody is more fired up than John Colone, the town's self-styled mayor and owner of a souvenir shop. "I've got '666' T-shirts and mugs. I'm only ordering 666 [of the items], so once they're gone, that's it," said Colone, also known as Odum Plenty. "Everyone who comes will get a letter of authenticity saying you've celebrated June 6 2006 in Hell." Most of Colone's wares will sell for $6,66, including deeds to one square inch of Hell. Live entertainment and a costume contest are planned. The Gates of Hell should be installed at a children's play area in time for the festivities. "They're eight feet [2,4m] tall and five feet [1,5m] wide and each gate looks like flames, and when they're closed, it's a devil's head," Colone told The Detroit News for a Saturday story. Well here I go... 06/06/06 is just a date in the calendar. To believe that bad things could happen to people on a certain day, because the date represents a number mentioned in the Bible, is superstition. The number 666 is just a normal number. The number itself is not evil or satanic. Superstition is evil and satanic, and stems from the belief that doing or not doing certain things can offend the spirits. The number 6 in Scripture is representative of man, as man was created on day 6 (Genesis 1:26). The number of the Beast is the number of a man (Revelation 13:18). Three meaning "completeness", and six meaning "man", represents the "fullness of man". King Solomon, in the fullness of his reign, received 666 talents of gold in taxes every year (1st Kings 10:14). 777 represents the perfection of God. The Antichrist is most probably alive and well today. He is a normal man, whom Satan will possess during the tribulation period (2nd Thessalonians 2:4). He will come as a great peacemaker (Daniel 8:25), and will be worshipped by the world as a great leader (Revelation 13:4). The word "anti" in the Bible doesn't necessarily mean against, it can mean "in place of", and this Antichrist will come "in place of" Christ in an attempt to bring peace to the world. He will then claim to have taken the place of God in the Jewish temple. He will take his place in the lake of fire with those who have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord (Revelation 19:20). The time is short, turn to the Lord Jesus for salvation before it is too late (Luke 13:25). Source Mail & Guardian |

Wars and rumours of wars Islamic group threatens England flag wavers 4/6/06 |
An Islamic terrorist group based in the UK, al-Muhajiroun, has threatened
English society stating the cross of St
George symbolizes the "blood thirsty crusaders" and oppression
of Muslims. The white flag with a red cross, which is the English state
flag, represents the cross of Saint George, a Roman soldier who protested
against the slaying of Christians in Rome in the 4th century. He was
subsequently decapitated
on order of Diocletian. From what I recall, his faithfulness in death
prompted a pagan priest of Diocletian to immediately cry out, "Great is
the God of the Christians!". The priest was also immediately slain. The
other flags of the countries in the United Kingdom are the Scottish flag
bearing the cross of Saint Andrew, and the Northern Irish flag, the cross of
Saint Patrick. All these crosses are combined in the Union Jack, which is the
flag of the United Kingdom. In a response to these threats, some British
companies, including Heathrow airport, have banned the use of the English
flag in advertising, which is a national disgrace.
Quote: "Following warnings by extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, in which the group said that the red cross in the England flag symbolizes the 'blood thirsty crusaders' and the occupation of Muslims, some of the largest companies in England have ordered their workers not to wave the flags. The flag has recently appeared in England on everything from bikinis to cars, and sold in endless versions in stores. But the Islamic protest forced some corporations, such as cable companies NTL, Heathrow airport in London, and even the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency to ban the flag in every form due to fears from reactions of Muslims. Britain isn't America. We aren't taught to respect our flags, and to most Brits the flag amounts to no more than a souvenir you wave on the Queen's birthday, or take abroad with you to football games. As the Muslim Parliament of Britain states, British Muslims should regard themselves as Muslims first, and not hold any allegiance to the country in which they live. So when Islamic terror networks make statements threatening patriots who are proud of their nation's heritage, we shouldn't be surprised. But there's something seriously wrong when major corporate companies prohibit the promotion of the flag because of what it may or may not represent abroad or now at home. It may as well be the white flag of surrender they are raising to Islamic terrorism, for if they are not prepared to stand up for their own country and heritage, you can be sure the Muslims will. |

Wars and rumours of wars Solana in Teheran to present package 3/6/06 |
Javier Solana, the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and
Security Policy, will be heading to Teheran within the next few days. His
visit comes as tensions are rising in the Middle East over Iran's nuclear
ambitions. Russia
is reported to be building a naval base in Syria from which it hopes to
exert its influence on Middle Eastern affairs. Ex KGB head, Vladimir Putin,
has previously expressed interest in increasing Russian involvement in the
Middle East peace process, but of course only to serve as a counterbalance
against America's support for Israel. Arming Syria will certainly help
increase Gog's influence among its Arab partners.
Quote: "”For the first time since the Soviet Union’s collapse, Russia will create its own military base outside former Soviet borders, which will allow Moscow to conduct its own political game in the Middle East,” the newspaper added. The Russian Defense Ministry categorically denied the report, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported. "This is an absolutely false report that has no foundation whatsoever," Defense Ministry spokesperson Vyacheslav Sedov told Novosti. Russia has also agreed to upgrade Syria's aerial defense systems, which Moscow supplied in 2005, and its fleet of 1,000 T-72 tanks. Syria is also trying to convince Moscow to sell it two submarines and to upgrade its fleet of MiG 29 fighter jets, the magazine added. Interestingly, Russia is not the only country that is increasing its military presence in the region. America has just sent the USS Cole destroyer to the Gulf. The US refused to give information on where the ship would be stationed or what missions they would be undertaking, only stating that they would be stationed there for six months. Possibly America wants to send a message to Ahmadinejad, or perhaps the USS Cole could act in a supporting role for any Israeli strike on the Iranian nuclear facilities. Quote: "The USS Cole is heading to the Middle East for the first time since terrorists bombed the Navy ship in Yemen's port of Aden nearly six years ago, killing 17 sailors. The guided missile destroyer is one of seven ships with 6,000 sailors and Marines leaving next week to conduct maritime security operations in support of the war on terrorism, the Navy announced Friday. They will be gone six months. All this is happening as Javier Solana will be presenting his package of bribes to President Ahmadinejad in person, to attempt to dissuade Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons. If he pulls it off, Solana will be hailed as a great peacemaker and will be worshipped by the world. If he fails, we have just taken another step towards the Gog Magog war of Ezekiel 38-39. Quote: "Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Saturday that European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana will be arriving in Tehran within the next two days to present Europe's new proposal to resolve the nuclear standoff. "Europe and the other states reached a consensus during a session held in Vienna on Thursday on a package of incentives that will be presented to Iran in the form of a new proposal," Mottaki quoted Solana as saying. Peace Process Haniyeh considering Abbas' peace proposal 2/6/06 |
Hamas Prime Minister Ismael Haniyeh is reported to have softened
his stance towards President Abbas' document that calls for the
"convergence" of Palestinian terror organizations under the
auspices of the PLO. Hamas had previously rejected Mahmoud Abbas' deadline
of 10 days to approve the document, which was authored by the jailed
leadership of Hamas and Fatah. President Abbas had stated if Hamas didn't
approve the document, he would put it to a popular vote of the Palestinian
people.
Quote: "Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, speaking at a Gaza mosque on Friday, indicated a change in his position on the Palestinian prisoners' document. Haniyeh said that the document must be studied and refined before it could gain the approval of the Palestinians. Haniyeh's speech came a day after the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad announced that they would accept the which accepts a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Every news organization is reporting that this document, by calling for the creation of a Palestinian state on land occupied after the Six Day war, will by implication recognize the state of Israel's right to exist. But Israel is not mentioned once in the 18 point document. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who doesn't consider Hamas to be a terrorist organization, helped Abbas to word another agreement in such a way as to not require Palestinian recognition of Israel's right to exist, but at the same time satisfying Western demands by pushing for the creation of a Palestinian state on land occupied after 1967. So what's the problem? Abbas' document calls for the creation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, but there is nothing in this document that would prohibit a third intifada against Israel in an attempt to liberate all of Palestine (including Israel), which is Hamas' goal according to their charter. As former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw put it, they will only be recognizing the "fact" of Israel's existence and not specifically the "right" of Israel to exist. That is state genocide, and if the Palestinians adopt this document, it will become international policy. Haggai 2:6-7 Source Jerusalem Post, YNet News |

Dividing the land ISM stages demonstration at Bil'in village 2/6/06 |
An
Israeli border guard has been wounded in a "non-violent"
confrontation at Bil'in village this morning, when around two to three
hundred Palestinian demonstrators gathered to protest over the erection of
the West Bank security fence. After the group breached a closed military
zone close to the fence, guards began dispersing the crowd, which included
international "peace" activists from the International Solidarity
Movement (ISM). The protesters startled hurling stones at the Israelis,
wounding one guard. Six protestors were also reportedly injured in the
scuffles. Quote: "According to the army, the protestors tried to break through a vehicle barricade set up by the Border Guard in an attempt to approach the separation fence and hid behind Palestinian ambulances. IDF officials added that no demonstrators were arrested. The officials also claimed that the protestors hurled stones at the forces and tried to climb on Border Guard jeeps. The injured officer received initial medical treatment on site and was later evacuated to hospital. But the report issued by the International Solidarity Movement fails to mention the stone-throwing protestors, or the fact that they were breaching a controlled military zone. In fact the ISM blames the Israeli guards for instigating the violence in their attack on this "non-violent" protest. The "sound bombs" the ISM mentions would have been used to prevent the crowd from approaching close to the wall, and when they continued despite this deterrent - even attempting to cross the fence, the guards would have been forced to physically remove them. Quote: "2pm, Bil’in, nr. Ramallah: Israeli soldiers at today’s anti-wall demonstration surrounded and attacked non-violent demonstrators with sound bombs and widespread beatings, badly injuring many Palestinians. At the time of this release, at least six Palestinians are known to have been evacuated in ambulances after serious injuries from beatings. Many others have been less seriously wounded. As they approached the gate in the annexation barrier demonstrators found that Israeli soldiers had positioned themselves behind journalists, as well as in front of the gate, surrounding them. Some of the demonstrators tried to non-violently cross the gate. Soldiers attacked the demonstrators from all sides with sound bombs and serious beatings. The soldiers then rushed forward, violently pushing everyone back causing widespread injuries. Amongst those known to be badly injured by beatings and evacuated in ambulances so far are: Akram al-Katib, Eyad Bournat and Ahmed Abu Rahme from the Popular Committee, as well as a woman named Yahia Abullah Yasin. The press plays an extremely important part in these demonstrations, as can be seen from this Al Jazeera article. The media presence essentially prevents the IDF from doing their job effectively, for any incident would soon become front page news. And with most news organizations biased against Israel, the liberal media would have a field day when some international "peace" activist was hurt during the protests. Quote: "We try to create a new theme for each of our demonstrations because we realise that this struggle will last a long time. Persistence requires innovation. Doing the same thing every time leads to boredom for those who cover it - and I mean the media. I am sure that as a media person you know this - where there is something new, you will go after it. If we have a protest, and someone is hurt, or seven people die, week after week, soon it becomes the same old news. So innovation makes it fresh news for the journalists. Dividing the land Islamic Jihad agree to Abbas' "peace" initiative 1/6/06 |
The armed wing of Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds (Jerusalem) Brigades, has
issued a statement that they have agreed
to the proposals laid out by President Abbas and the Hamas leaders jailed in
Israel. The document, which Mahmoud Abbas plans to put to a referendum of
the Palestinians within a month, contains 18 basic statements which is hoped
will be a starting point of negotiation between Israel and the Palestinians.
Israel has so far refused to comment on the document, although some have
criticized Abbas for attempting to embark on stage two of the "roadmap
to peace", without implementing stage one which called for an end to
violence. The Jerusalem Brigades stated they still oppose negotiations with
Israel in principle, but would be prepared to call a temporary cease fire.
The document does not specifically call for recognition of the state of
Israel, nor a end to violence, and would result in the
"convergence" of all terrorist groups under the wing of the
Palestinian Liberation Organization and President Abbas himself.
Quote: "In addition, the statement also indicates a willingness on the part of Islamic Jihad’s armed wing to accept the document of principles in its entirety, including the agreement on the establishment of a Palestinian state next to Israel and the recognition of the PLO and past agreements with Israel. A senior al-Quds Brigades member told Ynet, “we are prepared to implement the document, including a temporary lull in violence if the situation on the ground will permit us to do so, which means the acceptance of the document by the Palestinian organizations on the one hand and the cessation of Israeli violence against us and the Palestinian people on the other. Such a development may lead us to declare a cease fire.” As I said before, if Abbas can get all the terrorist organizations to sign up to this or a document like it and the terror groups effect a temporary cease fire, Israel could be pressured by the international community into agreeing to it and handing over yet more power and land to Hamas, even though the Muslims still won't recognize Israel's right to exist. This will afford Hamas time and space to regroup and reorganize itself before the onslaught of Ezekiel 38-39. Source YNet News |

Dividing the land Former CIA head blasts Olmert's convergence plan 1/6/06 |
Former CIA Director, James Woolsey, has slammed Israeli Prime Minister
Olmert's "convergence"
plan as an attempt to "reinforce" the failures of the past. Looking back at the
withdrawal from Lebanon, from which Hizbullah now operates with impunity, the
disengagement from Gaza, from which several terrorist organizations now
operate affiliated to Syria, Iran and even al-Qaida, and the collapse of previous
negotiations with the Palestinians under Yasser Arafat, Woolsey
remarked that every concession Israel makes for the sake of peace is only
rewarded with more violence. He stated that a unilateral disengagement from
the West Bank, which Olmert hopes will be completed in one fell swoop, would
be catastrophic for Israel and would in effect reward terror. Given how
Hamas took credit for driving the Jews out of Gaza, which resulted in the
terrorist organization growing in power both politically and militarily, the West
Bank convergence plan would provide Hamas with yet more territory from which
they could launch
attacks against all of Israel. A Hamas presence in Judea and Samaria would also pose a major threat to
the stability of Jordan, and would constitute further proof that
"militant" Islam
is winning its war against the Zionist regime and the Western world in
general.
Quote: "Israeli concessions indeed enhance Palestinian hope, but not of a reasonable two-state solution--rather a hope that they will actually be able to destroy Israel. The Iranian-Syrian-Hezbollah-Hamas axis is quite explicit about a genocidal objective. When they speak of "ending Israeli occupation" they mean of Tel Aviv. Under these circumstances it is time to recognize that, sadly, the Israeli-Palestinian issue will likely not be the first matter settled in the decades-long war that radical Islam has declared on the U.S., Israel, the West and moderate Muslims. It will more likely be one of the last. What amazes me is that President Olmert is pressing ahead with the pullout from Judea and Samaria despite the opposition of so many groups. The Palestinians oppose it, stating that without a negotiated settlement there will be no peace - but then privately they say they are unwilling to negotiate with Israel anyway. President Bush has expressed his reservations to Olmert regarding the plan, and the EU oppose it due to the chaos that is currently reigning in Gaza and is likely to spill over into the West Bank after Israel withdraws from there. Jordan is against it, as they are likely to suffer from increased instability as the Hamas terror government gains control over a large piece of territory on their border. The Israeli public is against it, as was seen from the recent election results, with one of the lowest voter turnouts forcing Sharon's Kadima party to form a coalition with many opposition parties. It seems the only ones that think the convergence plan is still a good idea is the Israeli government, but nobody knows why they are still pressing ahead with it. James Woolsey is nearly right. This battle won't be one of the last between "radical Islam" and the West, it will be the last. But in this last battle, both Islam, the nations and the false Church will unite against Israel, in an effort to finish it. We are seeing that anti-Semitic build up already. Wars and rumours of talks US offers Iran direct talks over nukes 1/6/06 |
Sorry I didn't update much yesterday, I think I had a slipped disc in my
back, and I had to go to bed. Feeling a little better today.
In a surprise move, President Bush has offered direct talks with Iran over the looming nuclear crisis, in what may be seen as a last ditch attempt to broaden international consensus on the issue. So far Russia and China have imposed any sanctions being placed against Iran, and the European Union has offered the Iranian President an extensive package of bribes to try and dissuade him from developing nuclear weapons. The US said the talks would be held on the precondition that all Uranium enrichment was suspended, and would be coupled with the EU3's generous package of incentives, including a light-water reactor, nuclear fuel and security guarantees. But the IRNA dismissed the offer by Condoleezza Rice as a "propaganda move", and stated that halting enrichment was not in Iran's interests. Quote: "Dr. Meir Litvak of the from the Center for Iranian Studies at Tel Aviv university says that the move serves the Iranian interest as "first of all, it postpones the military option, which is a good thing, second – it postpones the military sanctions, and third – they gain more time and move forward to a bomb." In other news, the liberal media are doing their best to re-habilitate the Iranian President, by painting him as a much misunderstood, benevolent dictator (Now where have we heard that before?) The New York Times has run an article, describing Ahmadinejad as a reformer, a "proponent of women's (Islamic) rights" and an "ideologically flexible" leader who is seeking dialogue with the United States.
